The product disklok moves the steering wheel as well when the engine is on. This means a thief can simply drive the vehicle to a location and cut the lock off.
As claimed by disklok, the lock does not spin freely when the engine is on. It only spins freely when the engine is off and the vehicle steering lock is engaged.

We’re sorry the product did not meet your expectations, but the test described does not demonstrate that the Disklok has failed.
The Disklok is designed to be fitted while the vehicle is parked, with the engine off and the steering lock engaged. As your review confirms, under those conditions its outer shell rotates independently, preventing the steering wheel from being gripped and operated normally.
Power-assisted steering may move the wheel beneath the Disklok once the engine is running, but the large steel enclosure remains attached and severely obstructs safe steering. A thief cannot “simply drive away” as though the lock were not there, they would still need to physically defeat and remove it.
