I would give a negative star rating if…

I would give a negative star rating if I could - My dad had an idea that he wanted to contact the agent with to explore options, without even talking to me first. The agent - Olesia Yakovych - pushed contacting me and obtaining my information. I only obliged out of respect to my Dad to provide information as he wanted quote, but specifically told both of them to not action any items and DID NOT have my consent. I live in another city and am a 45 year old woman, and rent a car to travel and visit. The agent gave my dad options of adding me as a secondary or primary, soliciting that if I was a primary it would help my future insurance - fully knowing that I do not live with him, or have the car with me in my possession. The agent went ahead and placed me on his policy as a Primary even without my consent, despite after I wrote to her many times expressing I have never driven his vehicle nor plan to ever drive his vehicle and would be getting my own Alberta Non-Owner policy very soon, she was unreasonable and acted as though she presented many options to my Dad and this was his choice...it wasn't, he was only trying to think of ideas, before even speaking to me about them. As well my Dad is in my daily driving profession and this action put me into very high risk profile potential, and I'm in the midst of buying a home and getting my own insurance quotes - their paperwork if not done correctly alone could have cost me issues. Thankfully in the end a final conversation with my Dad occurred where they have removed me, but they forced him into stating I would never be able to be placed again on his policy - Good riddance Desjardins Group!! No one wants your business anyways, I will be convincing my dad to go elsewhere and everyone I know. Highly unethical stuff here, all documented.

A soon to be former Visa Desjardins credit card holder

After a Visa Desjardins credit card charge dispute that I thought was resolved, it seems that the merchant (Hertz Spain) has circled back around. The decision cannot be appealed, and Desjardins is just rolling over for almighty Visa, 60 plus days after the credit on my card.
I have had a mortgage and student loans with them in the past. My credit card relationship with them is almost 30 years old. That will soon no longer be the case.
Bottom line, don’t depend on any help standing up to unethical billing practices!

Desjardins Insurance Saved My Life!

Eighteen months ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I had crirtical health insurance through Desjardins. I can tell you that it literally saved my life. My experiene with them has been nothing but 5 stars from the beginning. I was assigned a manager (Hirva Gajera). She was compassionate and professional. I have nothing but good things to say about this company.

Good luck trying to pull your…

Good luck trying to pull your investments. You will be given the run around for weeks. Even after proof of no longer working for the employer that I did my contributions through, it's still a hassle. I'd never invest through them again. I keep getting a "10 more days," or, "we've escalated your claim" emails.

If you want a good rate don't go here!

We have been loyal customers for years insuring all 3 of our vehicles with them & how do they reward us? So I thought I'd compare rates which I probably haven't done for 10 years, & just for one of our vehicles for example (we had 3 insured with them) they quoted $1,141 & CAA quoted us $593! So please don't deal with these people they're robbers, & go with CAA - you'll thank me!

I've been using them for my business…

I've been using them for my business banking for over two years and there's been many issues along the way. They've shipped things to the wrong address multiple times despite my clear instructions to change default delivery address multiple times, opening the bank account was a hassle of running to our local branch, the branch then telling us they weren't able to help us to us calling back and being redirected to the local branch. The people are typically nice to deal with it. It's just that the experience is been very easy and always takes very long when a lot of the issues seemed like they could've been avoided.

Over 1.5 hr on hold to submit a claim…

Over 1.5 hr on hold to submit a claim is WILD!!!
Website is a mess - can’t easily find how to file a claim, and when you finally do, you click on Submit Online and it doesn’t take you anywhere to actually submit one. Just back to the page that says you can submit a claim by phone or online with no links. AWFUL!!! Just absolutely awful to deal with at a time of need no less.

Dire customer service

Dire customer service. Am beyond frustrated that to do a 'security check' they only offer the option of me calling long-distance for a process that takes over 45 minutes. All they asked me was my name, my address and one payee in the system. We're in 2026 - there are so many faster ways of doing this online. Avoid Desjardins unless you like dealing with a bank stuck in the 20th century.

I have not used my account for a little…

I have not used my account for a little while and they decided to lock me out with without telling me I contacted them. I spent 20 minutes on the phone being bounced around and rudely spoken to in French when I specifically explained English then when I did get the person, he was rude he was demanding and when I told him I don’t use the app and I use a link he called me stupid and told me that I need to login on either the app or go and clear out my cookies and start my application over again. It is absolutely disgusting that this company locks you out of your account because you don’t use it without applying and telling you that if you don’t login with an a certain time, your account will be deactivated. This is a group insurance not everybody checks their goddamn retirement fund every day to Jan is the rudest and most disgusting company there ever is and they only speak French unless you forced them to speak English.

Filing/submitting a claim to Desjardin…Laughable

Filing/submitting a claim to Desjardin is worse than having a 5 root canals. Im so pissed at Desjardins beyond words that I wont bother to get into details. That's how bad Desjardin my experience was with them. The only thing I can care to share is this: My intended claim was for a property loss due to frozen pipes that burst and caused water leaks in the washroom and laundry areas but they want me to take pictureS of the house from the outside! They also wanted me to hire a contractor to inspect the house and write a report on the cause of property damage. Why would I hire and pay a contractor when i have pictures showing burst water pipes, EVEN A 3RD GRADER CAN UNDERSTAN. HELLO !!! AND DIDNT I SAY THE PIPES FROZE THAT CAUSED THE PIPES TO BURST, THAT CAUSED WATER LEAKS, THEREBY CAUSING PROPERTY DAMAGE ???? !!!! AND THEY WANT ME TO GO OUTSIDE AND TAKE PICTURES OF THE HOUSE. BUNCH OF CLOWNS

Costumer service is not great

Costumer service is not great, they deducted from me the date they were supposed not to and the amount they were supposed not to, when I called they said it was not going to be refunded and that I would have to call again next week to change the date.

And the rest is underwritten.

My original company was bought out by dejardins who proceeded to continually raise my rates and cancel programs i was enrolled in before the change. Then sent me paperwork to fill out for the purpose of forcing me to RE-APPLY for insurance (re underwriting). of course until they decided to outright cancel my insurance for refusing to be reunderwritten, they refused to explain what the paperwork was for, just that it needed to be done.

This is a shady, unethical company who should NOT be trusted.

0/10 - stay away, you've been warned.

300$ online transaction with a US store…

300$ online transaction with a US store was blocked, fine i go on the bank website and confirm it me and its ok, vendor emails me an hour later still refused i receive a text asking if its legit from them i confirm yes its me, email the vendor to try again, 3 hours later received a voicemail from Desjardins transaction blocked AGAIN, call them up tell them the story they unblock it say i should call the vendor to process the transaction. Yes of course a major US chain will stop all their transactions to process a 300$ buy because Desjardins in Qc is ready.... And yet when something happens and they block your debit or credit they wont even tell you, you will find out buying something, happened to me twice once doing the groceries of the week blocked debit card, stay away
