Cars come with missing parts

I’ve bought 3 cars from them in the last couple of months and although the account manager can’t be faulted, this can’t be said about their customer services . 2 out of the 3 cars has parts missing and radios swapped to cheaper ones, parcel shelf missing and so on. Transport damaged the bumper taking it off their wagon and when a claim was made all they do is give a voucher to spend again . No refund . They refuse to refund and ignore any complaint . There’s also a minimum spend to use the voucher . It’s put me right off using them again .

"As a registered dealer with AUTO1

"As a registered dealer with AUTO1, I have experienced serious and unresolved issues:

1. AUTO1 insists that use of their transport service is mandatory, but after multiple formal written requests over several weeks, they have been unable to provide a single document, clause, or paragraph from their Terms and Conditions that creates this obligation. Their own T&Cs (March 2026) contain no such clause.

2. I received a vehicle (Kia Stonic, RY18971) advertised with a video showing a working engine. Upon delivery, the engine was completely seized. The claim was rejected citing mileage, despite the fact that a seized engine is not normal wear.

3. A previous vehicle (Opel Corsa, CJ81018) arrived with transport damage. AUTO1 offered only a €200 voucher.

All issues have been formally escalated to AUTO1 Group management in Berlin. No satisfactory response has been received."
"Additionally, AUTO1 promised a €200 voucher as compensation for transport damage on a previous vehicle (Opel Corsa, CJ81018). The voucher was never issued."

Auto1 Group-severe breach of contract terms, broken deadlines, and B2B financial damage

We are writing to expose a severe breach of contractual terms and lack of professional accountability by AUTO1.

Our company purchased a vehicle on the AUTO1 platform on June 24th, 2026. The full payment (vehicle price and all administrative fees) was successfully processed on June 26th, 2026. According to AUTO1’s strict wholesale trade terms, the platform commits to delivering the vehicle's original documentation within a maximum of 10 days.

Today is July 20th. It has been over 20 days—double the legal timeframe agreed upon—and AUTO1 has completely failed to provide the documentation or any reliable solution.

This operational failure caused direct commercial damages to our business:
1. Lost Transport Slot: Due to the missing documents and delayed vehicle release, we lost a pre-booked transport slot from Belgium to Portugal.
2. Lost End-Client: The extreme delay and lack of transparency forced our end-client to cancel their order and walk away from the deal. The vehicle no longer holds any commercial value to us.

Despite this, AUTO1 support sent an automated template reply, shifting the blame to public authorities and unacceptably demanding that we physically accept the vehicle first before opening a claim on their portal. Their system is flawed, as it technically prevents buyers from claiming delivery delays until after the car is dropped off.

My company has extensive experience in international B2B vehicle acquisition. We will not accept the delivery of this vehicle. We formally demand the immediate cancellation of this transaction due to AUTO1's breach of contract, and a full refund of our retained capital.

Please be advised that our legal department is currently preparing to initiate an injunction and legal proceedings to recover our capital, alongside full compensation for commercial losses and damages, should this matter not be resolved immediately.

So spoločnosťou AUTO1 máme mimoriadne…

We have had an extremely negative experience with AUTO1 when purchasing a BMW 630i (LV47529).

The purchase also included an order for the transport of the vehicle, which we duly ordered and paid for. After placing the order and paying, we were informed that the vehicle was “untransportable”. Subsequently, we were also notified several times that the vehicle was undriveable, while no defects were listed in the advertisement. According to the auction, photographs and information provided, the vehicle was presented as fully driveable.

Throughout the entire communication, we received contradictory and unclear information about the actual condition of the vehicle and the possibility of its transport. Since the transport of the vehicle was an essential requirement of the main contract, we submitted a withdrawal from the contract to AUTO1. However, we did not receive any proper response or opinion on this withdrawal. In the meantime, we were credited with an invoice for the transport, which was paid for, but the funds have still not been returned to us.

We have been communicating with AUTO1 sales representatives for approximately two months. Their communication is confusing, contradictory and, in our opinion, set up to only add further obstruction to the whole situation instead of a solution. We repeatedly receive different information, but no clear position. At the same time, they refuse to send any official statement in writing, although these are fundamental issues related to the condition of the vehicle, transport, withdrawal from the contract and the return of funds. The whole system seems to be set up to prevent the customer from exercising their rights rather than to resolve them.

We currently have no specific information about the situation regarding the transport of the vehicle, the actual condition of the vehicle or whether the order will be processed at all. We have no feedback on our withdrawal from the contract and we do not have any information about the status of the return of funds. The situation is completely deadlocked and at this point we do not know what further course of action to take.

Communication with AUTO1 is so confusing that it is practically impossible to reach someone who would be able to give a relevant and binding statement.

Based on this experience, we do not recommend AUTO1. Communication was chaotic, information contradictory, customer support completely non-functional, and the solution to withdraw from the contract and return the funds paid was zero. Given the current situation, we are forced to recover the funds through a lawsuit.

Refund confirmed in writing by AUTO1 — never paid

In March 2026, AUTO1 Portugal charged me a fee for a service that was never provided — a handling/shipping fee for extra rims. The rims were inside the car itself, in the trunk, and were not shipped separately. This fee had never been charged to me in previous identical purchases, and other dealers are not charged for it either.

As soon as I noticed the charge, I contacted AUTO1 Portugal. AUTO1 itself immediately acknowledged that the fee had been charged in error and committed to refunding the amount. This acknowledgment was not the response of a single employee — it was confirmed repeatedly, over months, by different team members, through every channel:

- By phone: they apologized for the error and confirmed the refund would be made
- By email (March 6): "We inform you that we will request the refund"
- By email (March 10): "The refund will be made to the company account"
- They requested my IBAN, which I sent immediately
- The account manager confirmed by voice message (WhatsApp) that the charge was wrong and the refund would be made
- Publicly, on Portal da Queixa — Portugal's largest public complaints platform: they confirmed they were "working to obtain a definitive date for the completion of the payment" and apologized for the "unjustified delay"

The refund was never paid. And then AUTO1 Portugal completely changed its position: they suddenly claimed the fee is "non-refundable" and that "nothing was ever confirmed" — contradicting their own emails, their own account manager, and their own public replies.

The entire process is publicly documented, with email screenshots, on Portal da Queixa. Search for "AUTO1 reembolso confirmado" and you will find the full history, including AUTO1's own written confirmations and subsequent contradictions.

What AUTO1 headquarters should know:

This complaint is now the most viewed of all AUTO1 complaints on Portal da Queixa, where companies reply publicly and anyone can read the full history. This single complaint already has over 35,000 views — and growing. The case is spreading: criticism of AUTO1 is multiplying in forums, blogs, social media and automotive industry websites in Portugal. And competing platforms are using this case as advertising, positioning themselves in the Portuguese market as alternatives with better after-sales service and more respect for customers. Every day without a resolution costs AUTO1 far more than the disputed amount.

And it is not an isolated case: the Portuguese team replies to every complaint from every customer with the same phrase — "it's in the Terms & Conditions" — even when nothing of the sort is written there. The numbers confirm it: 27% average rating and 43% customer retention rate. The majority no longer does business with AUTO1.

My request: that this case be forwarded to someone with decision-making authority within AUTO1 in Germany. The complete documentation is available and verifiable. The solution is simple: fulfill the refund that several AUTO1 Portugal employees confirmed — by phone, by email, by WhatsApp, and publicly on Portal da Queixa.
