Im so furious with Calm app
Im so furious with Calm app. I've been a fully signed up Calm Premium members for over 7yrs..loyally renewing every year. For some reason, I went to log in as I usually do daily and it said I had no subscription but I have evidence that I've paid untilFeb 2027.. I've spent hours with the ridiculous auto bot rubbish to get it resolved.. only to get an email days later from a robot saying I should this and that...which I'd already done !! Calm app is such a rip off..I'm so stressed. and what really upsets me.. I only bought the app for the lullaby that help my young daughter get to sleep religiously every night and without it she struggles. I'm so upset with no human to contact or talk to.... I will cancel but I lose money..... very very disgusted how they treat their customers.............
Thieves and Frauds
Thieves and Frauds - they offer a 7 day free trial and then even when you cancel, they charge you the full yearly subscription. Do not touch this app. Far from causing anyone to feel calm, they cause cortisol spikes and anger.
A scam basically in sheep's clothing. Money before content
Basically it has barely any content.
I paid full family cost.
It has about 5 sleep stories (one I really like), a few bits of electro music and a few meditations.
Its a shame its a great idea but no passion or commitment has been put in, no new additions in months to the extremely tiny content, and they just take money as they please.
Unexpected annual renewal and extremely difficult refund process
I had a one-year Calm subscription which I originally purchased at a discounted price. I understood that I was paying for a year of access; I did not realise that it would automatically renew for another full year at the significantly higher full price.
On 23 August 2026, Calm charged me approximately $83 for another year. I did not receive a renewal reminder or notification that I was about to be charged.
I immediately logged into Calm to cancel. While I could cancel the subscription so that it does not renew again in 2027, the website would not provide a refund for the charge that had just been taken. I have not used the renewed subscription.
I submitted a refund request immediately and, two days later, I still have not received a response from a member of the customer support team.
What I find particularly disappointing is that this is an annual charge for a significant amount of money, yet there was no obvious advance warning that I was about to be charged. I also find it unnecessarily difficult to get help with a refund after the payment has been taken.
I was already questioning whether I wanted to continue using Calm because I don't use the service very much anymore. Being unexpectedly charged for another year, followed by a difficult refund process and no timely customer response, has completely changed my view of the company.
Calm is supposed to make people feel calm. Unfortunately, this billing and customer-service experience has done the exact opposite.
I hope Calm will review its renewal notification and refund processes and, most importantly, resolve my refund request promptly.
Sneaky billing traps and zero support
It’s honestly exhausting when a platform preaches digital wellness but relies on hidden subscription traps and unauthorized charges to turn a profit. Right after paying, I found the actual content completely locked. My account access was broken, and their automated support basically ghosted my cancellation requests. Draining people's mental energy with shady billing tricks isn't mindful building—it's just a grift. Stay grounded and keep away from this one.
I have had an annual subscription to…
I have had an annual subscription to Calm for about six years now and love the app and use it every night. Then, in January I noticed Calm.com,inc had taken £17.09 out of my account. It was only in August it dawned on me they had taken £17.09 out every month. Which would mean paying £205 for a year!! I was also thrown by the email address which never had a , and inc in its address before. Reached out to their zen help or whatever it’s called and like everyone else found I only got robotic replies. Bank investigated and said they were fraudulent and retrieved some of my money. What I want to know is what has happened to the original lovely Calm app I have loved and used for many years? Tamara and Elisha. What happened???
Calm does not offer prorated charges or…
Calm does not offer prorated charges or refunds for unused time when switching plans, so any remaining months on your current plan will not be credited. You will either need to time it to the month of purchase or they get money for nothing.
That being said, this is far and away the best app I have ever owned. I have nearly gone through all of the expert level curiosity and grounding rod style content. It helps with the 2 most important rituals to a quality life and longevity.
Sleep and nervous system rituals. Grateful for Jay and many people on his incredibly calming team, too many names to name from the Actons, to Levitt and Warren. So many fabulous guest stars that would be really complex to give credit too. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!
Honestly confused by the bad reviews
Calm has been my mental reset button for years. I don't use it out of routine, but as an anchor whenever life becomes a bit too noisy.
What makes Calm so valuable isn't just relaxation... it’s the gentle reminder to replace self-criticism with space and perspective. It helps me pause, breathe, and give myself permission to let go of perfectionism.
Though I’m native in French and Japanese, Tamara Levitt’s original English content remains my favorite. Her tone delivers a calm, authentic presence that cuts through the noise every single time

I have spent almost an hr trying to cancel my subscription
I have tried everyway possible and cannot cancel my payments and request a refund
I am now having to contact my bank to try through them to stop any further payments and also ask them to help with a refund .
Absolute nightmare app
The app is restrictive
The app is restrictive. While searching "sleep" you're offered numerous choices, but can't drill down further to sound, light, emdr, intention.
After paying for a one year…
After paying for a one year subscription of $99 (total fee) in November 2026, it turns out they have taken an extra $170 in 3 quarterly stages from my credit card even after I cancelled.
Their website causes stress not relieves it. Gives you the runaround when trying to contact them about this.
Do not go near it...
Poor Customer Service
We had been a happy Calm Business customer for several years, but our recent experience has been incredibly disappointing.
We are a small business, and like many small businesses, every dollar matters. Our company has experienced a nearly 30% reduction in headcount, and we were shocked to learn that our subscription had automatically renewed. Calm's only renewal notice was sent one time to an incorrect email address, so the person responsible for our invoices and renewals never received it. There was no additional follow-up before our contract was automatically renewed for 101 employees.
As soon as we became aware of the issue, we weren't asking to cancel after using the service. We simply asked Calm to adjust our subscription from 101 employees to our current workforce of approximately 70 employees. Despite the significant reduction in headcount, Calm refused to adjust the covered lives, offer a credit, or provide any meaningful accommodation.
What is most disappointing is the complete lack of flexibility shown to a long-time small business customer. Instead of working with us to find a reasonable solution, every response simply pointed back to the contract—even though we were only asking to pay for the employees we actually have.
Unfortunately, this experience has overshadowed what was otherwise a product our employees appreciated. I hope Calm reconsiders both its renewal process and how it partners with small businesses. A single email sent to the wrong address should not result in a long-standing customer being locked into paying for 30% more employees than they actually employ.
Website very misleading and piggyback…
Website very misleading and piggyback on the NHS app becareful as you can like myself pay for subscriptions you did not request
The absolute worse experience trying to access app after paying
After taking my annual subscription it was IMPOSSIBLE to access the app. Multiple passwords not recognised, multiple pages to visit, including additional things 'on offer'. Absolute terrible customer experience. All smooth to take the money but once the money was taken, awful awful experience. Email to say if you have any feedback reply directly doesn't work. So trust pilot is the ONLY way to provide feedback. STAY CLEAR OF THIS APP. You have been warned. No human to speak to just chat bots.
Charged me random charges and won’t…
Charged me random charges and won’t answer emails
Scammers
After taking my money for a three month subscription I have not been able to access anything on the app. The Help centre is hopeless, will try to get money back via the bank. DONT do it
Worst app
Worst app, kept on charging my account, can’t even access the damm thing. Stay away from this app it’s a grift!
Be wary of signing up for Calm
I signed up for calm, and it auto renewed before I realized it- (my bad!). Kept it another year- was determined to cancel this year- had to search and search for a way to cancel- it’s easy peasy to sign up- extremely difficult to cancel. No customer service phone number- will def never use again- and would advise others not to.
Same as everyone else
Same as everyone else. They seem to be big ol fibbers. They lure you in with that super relaxing "You are safe.." video on Facebook but it doesn't exist on their app and neither does anything like it. Also, no matter how many times you block the ad, it pops back up. No idea why they don't just add stuff to their app. If they can do it for an ad, just make it longer and put it on the app. Too late now though. I think they're manipulative click baiters.
It's a scam
It's a scam. After I signed up, I was never given access. So I asked to cancel my subscription and get a refund, confirmed through email. This was November last year. They have continued to charge me each month even though I have no access and cancelled. So far they have taken about $180.00 worth of unauthorised transactions. I need to cally babk to somehow have them blocked. Don't sign up - it's a scam.
