I will never book with Cottages.com again.
We arrived at our accommodation to find it filthy, poorly maintained and with several things not working. I complained within around 30 minutes of arrival and provided extensive photographic and video evidence.
Months later, I am still trying to get this complaint properly resolved.
Rather than Cottages.com taking ownership of the complaint and properly assessing all the evidence, the process has consisted largely of passing the property owner’s explanations back to me, even when I have written evidence from the time that contradicts important parts of his account.
I have had to repeatedly chase, resend evidence and explain the same circumstances over and over again. For such a large organisation, the way this has been managed has been incredibly disappointing.
The property itself was bad enough, but the months of frustrating complaint handling afterwards have made the whole experience significantly worse.
I have completely lost confidence in Cottages.com and, based on my experience, I would never book through them again.

Easy to use and convenient on the app
The cottages app made searching, reviewing and booking our holiday home simple, easy and convenient. We will definitely be using the app and booking process for future trips.
Meadow Barn was the perfect place for us. Conveniently located for exploring the stunning South Downs with Arundel, Amberley and
Pulborough just a few of the places within easy distance. With the absence of light pollution we were also able to enjoy seeing so many stars and satellites.
The property has a well equipped kitchen, lounge/dining areas with seating both inside and outdoors (in the beginning of Sept).
There is plenty of storage for both hanging and shelves in the bedrooms, with additional storage cupboards in the upstairs bedroom.
The ground floor comprises of the aforementioned kitchen / dining / lounging areas with a door to the ground floor bedroom. Off the bedroom is a good sized en-suite with a toilet, sink, shelves, heated towel rail and walk in shower with possibly the biggest rainfall head that I have seen.
Upstairs there is a desk area before a separate door to the bedroom with two single beds. Beyond the beds the upstairs en-suite has a bath, toilet and sink.
There are plenty of opening windows and skylights letting in light and fresh air.
The property, fixtures and fittings are of a high standard and the owner, John and his black lab, Treacle are both friendly and respectful.
We loved outrage short break at Meadow Barn and hope many more enjoy their time there as much as we have.
