Review of Edelweiss Air

Paid for Business Class, completely abandoned after cancellation

I booked a Business Class ticket from Zurich to Las Vegas, with the return leg (WK3) operated by Edelweiss. Edelweiss canceled my return flight from Las Vegas, but never notified me via email or SMS. Even when I checked in at Zurich for the outbound flight, the staff knew my return was canceled but said nothing.

When my return date arrived, Edelweiss provided zero on-the-ground support or rebooking assistance. I had to rely on United Airlines to get me home.

Upon returning, I submitted a claim for my out-of-pocket care expenses (hotel, food, transit) and the statutory €600 compensation. Edelweiss sent standard copy-paste replies, claiming they processed the schedule change in April and therefore owed me nothing. When I asked them to provide basic technical proof (like server logs) that they actually notified me, they completely ignored me.

Customers had negative experiences with customer service, often describing it as unhelpful and unprofessional. I had to escalate this case to the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) for formal enforcement just to get them to fulfill their basic legal obligations.

If you are paying a premium price for a Business Class ticket, expect zero communication and an automated wall of rejections if things go wrong. Avoid.

For many years, my go-to payment method

For many years, my go-to payment method for currency exchange, day-to-day and travelling payments, and online shopping. Fair exchange rates and clear fees. Free basic account without annoying upgrade notifications all over the app.

Unfortunately, not all currency accounts can have bank account details (IBAN) and sometimes payments are declined because the county of payment method isn't supported.

Thousands of credits lost without a notification

UPDATE:
The Verbling support contacted and informed me that my credits were reactivated for another 6 months. That's why I've updated my rating. I'd really appreciate if they actually improved the user informing and the notification system to avoid such surprises for future clients.

Horrible service experience for new customers.
When you sign up for their service and buy a bunch of credits (in my case 2.6k USD), they don't inform you explicitly that these credits expire, and do so pretty soon (in 6 months). To make things worse, they don't send you a kind email in advance or even after the fact when they robbed you of all your credits. Understandably, some credits expiry policy is required, but only with adequate communication to users like other language learning platforms do.
