Be aware!!!!! Swindlers operate in airports. My quote was for €800 On picking up my vehicle I was charged an additional €200 for pre-fuelling. I was under pressure in the queue and was pressured into using my credit card. Be aware of Hertz at Knock Airport - not trustworthy.

Hi Tim Walker,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and we’re sorry to hear about your disappointment. Upon reviewing the charges, we can confirm that there was no additional €200 charge made to your card. The €200 amount was a pre-authorisation, which is a temporary hold placed on the funds rather than an actual charge. As the vehicle was returned with a full tank of fuel, the pre-authorisation was released following the completion of your rental. Please note that the time it takes for the funds to become available again may depend on your bank or card issuer. If you would like a copy of your invoice or require any further clarification regarding the charges, please contact us at customerservices@hertz.ie or call +353 (0)53 915 2500, and our team will be happy to assist you. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to clarify this matter.

Dean Horlock carried out a H&S audit here at Oxford University (April 2024) he is very knowledgeable and thorough as we discussed training and Risk Assessments etc with Heads of Departments. I consider the audit a chance to implement improvements and share H&S information through the College. I found the visit from Dean to be a great learning experience and not something to fear. Apart from the Audit report and actions, Dean supplied a swathe of useful H&S documents that I will share with other members of Staff.

Just completed the 4 day Nebosh Fire safety course in Southampton and it is ideal for someone who wants to go a bit further with Fire Risk Assessments etc (I had already done the Nebosh General certificate earlier this year). I recommend Phoenix as their e-learning support is very good and the course itself was very informative. Our course tutor was Danny Cousins who obviously has a wealth of knowledge and experience, his teaching method was excellent and his engaging style ensured that all of us on the course interacted well. I feel far more confident now that I've done the course (its amazing how much you learn from others on the course too). This is the 2nd course I have done with Phoenix so I have no hesitation in recommending them and if you are in the Hampshire area you might be lucky enough to get Danny Cousins.
I have just received my Pulse from Behind Bars in Abingdon (great personal service) and it is fabulous.....however, I had borrowed my mates Volt Alpine for the past few months and the Alpine seems more powerful.
The Alpine whizzes along and the Pulse seems more steady (perhaps more suited to my commute into Oxford).
Not much difference between my mates Cube (£3000) and my hi-spec Volt Pulse (£1899).
