Review of Wickes

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Absolutely the worst customer service experience I have ever had.

Absolutely the worst customer service experience I have ever had.

Ordered a full kitchen from Wickes and the entire process has been a complete disaster from start to finish.

Original delivery delayed without even informing me.
Multiple damaged items delivered.
TWO sinks arrived damaged.
Missing parts with delivery dates constantly changing.
Different employees giving completely different information every time you call.
Promised callbacks that never happen.
Emails ignored for days.
Constantly having to chase updates myself because nobody communicates anything.

The most unbelievable part? I reported the SECOND damaged sink on 9th May and sent all photos immediately. Over a week later I contacted the supplier (Abode) directly myself, only to find out Wickes had NEVER even forwarded the issue or the photos to them. For 9 days absolutely nothing had been done.

So while my renovation is delayed, my builders are waiting, my house is full of kitchen units and damaged products, Wickes customer service simply does nothing unless you spend hours chasing everything yourself.

I have genuinely never experienced treatment like this from any company before.

Avoid at all costs if you value your time, money, and sanity.

Aviva delays, deflects and protects their repairers – exhausting experience from start to finish

My experience with Aviva has been one long battle from the very beginning of the claim.

From day one, everything was delayed. I had to chase constantly for updates, approvals and basic information. Nothing happened unless I pushed. Communication was slow, unclear and reactive rather than proactive.

Eventually, my car was sent to an Aviva-approved repairer (Solus). When the vehicle was returned, it was in a worse condition than when it was collected. The boot lid, which was never part of the repair, came back covered in white, faded paint marks that were definitely not there before.

I reported this immediately. What followed was a familiar pattern:

initial denial,

deflection of responsibility,

reliance on engineers’ reports while ignoring basic facts,

and complete refusal to acknowledge that the damage appeared while the car was in their care.

Despite:

owning the car for 2.5 years with no such issues,

the damage appearing immediately after the repair,

and the repairer confirming their own pre-repair photos show no marks,

Aviva chose to protect their repairer instead of their customer.

To make matters worse, Aviva has also been holding my £250 excess refund for nearly five months, despite confirming that it is owed to me. Again — delays, chasing, no urgency, no accountability.

This entire experience shows a clear pattern: delay the claim, make the customer fight for every step, deny responsibility when something goes wrong, and hope the customer gives up.

I have now escalated the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Aviva to anyone who expects fair, transparent and customer-focused claim handling.

Review of Solus Accident Repair Centres

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Avoid Solus – my car came back with new damage after their repair

I strongly advise anyone to think twice before using Solus as a repair centre. My vehicle was collected by them in perfect condition, including the boot lid. When they returned it a week later, the boot lid had clear white fade marks all over it – damage that 100% was not there before.

At first, Solus denied everything. It took two days of back-and-forth before they finally admitted that their own pre-repair photos show no marks on the boot lid before they worked on the car. That alone tells you everything.

Despite this, the insurer’s engineers tried to blame “pre-existing paintwork,” even though:

the damage appeared immediately after Solus returned the car,

I had owned the car for 2.5 years with no such issues,

Solus machine-polished an area that wasn’t even part of the repair,

and heat from polishing can cause exactly this type of discolouration.

So now I’m left with a damaged car after their repair, and both Solus and the insurer are refusing to take responsibility.

If you value your vehicle, be extremely careful. My experience with Solus has been disappointing, frustrating, and costly.

Reply from Solus Accident Repair Centres

Good morning Lukasz,

Thank you for submitting a review, and I’m sorry to hear about your experience.

I can see from our records that you raised this as a complaint with Aviva, who arranged for an engineer to inspect your vehicle. Following the inspection, the engineer confirmed that the issues identified—previous repairs to the boot lid and discolouration in the basecoat—are pre-existing and not related to the insurance repairs carried out by us.

As these findings are outside the scope of the work completed through your insurance claim, we’re unable to carry out any rectification repairs. This decision is based on the engineer’s independent assessment and our responsibility for repairs completed under the claim.

Aviva have advised on how you can proceed if you remain unhappy.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

Kind regards,

Review of Betfred

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I’ve used Betfred for months and…

I’ve used Betfred for months and honestly, it’s been one of the most infuriating experiences I’ve had with any bookmaker or casino. On the surface it looks slick: flashy promos, endless games, and “competitive” odds. But the moment real money and a real win show up, the mask drops. What should be a straightforward withdrawal turns into an absolute circus — sudden “reviews”, unexplained delays, and blocked cash-outs that never resolve. It feels like they only want your money while you’re betting, and as soon as you try to take anything out they invent a dozen excuses.

Customer service is a joke. Chat responses are robotic and useless, phone calls go round in circles, and emails get form replies that don’t answer anything. You’re passed between departments, told to “wait for an update”, and then nothing happens. Meanwhile your balance sits in limbo and you’re left fighting for what you legitimately won. That’s not security — that’s stonewalling.

Their casino games are even worse — packed with conditions, opaque wagering rules, and bonus terms designed to trap you rather than help you. Bonuses look attractive until you read the small print and realise you’ll never meet the wagering requirements. It’s all smoke and mirrors.

I’ve seen multiple threads and complaints online from people reporting the exact same pattern: decent odds or a nice win, followed by account freezes, endless verification checks, and payouts that disappear into bureaucratic limbo. Whether it’s incompetence or deliberate tactics, the end result is the same — customers out of pocket or exhausted from chasing their money.

Bottom line: Betfred talks like a reputable company but behaves like a moth-eaten operation when real money is involved. If you value your time and your cash, avoid them. There are far better, more transparent operators out there who pay out without the drama. Don’t make the mistake of trusting Betfred with anything important.

Avoid Bet365 at all costs.

Avoid Bet365 at all costs.
I had my account for a very long time, and recently I wasn’t playing much — so what did Bet365 do? They blocked my account because I wasn’t generating profit for them. Pathetic.

And it gets even better: they put limits on my coworker’s account because he was winning too much, and then they had the nerve to demand his work payslips. Who do you think you are to ask anyone for their payslips?

A bunch of thieves and incompetent clowns. Stay far away from this company

It’s a fun experience, full of positive vibes, and on top of that it supports a good cause.
Definitely worth giving it a try 🍀 Highly recommend!

Perfect

Everyone in my household is with iD Mobile, and honestly, it’s probably the best network I’ve had so far. Most places in my city have strong 5G coverage, the SIM plans are reasonably priced, and roaming in Europe works flawlessly without any issues. I’m not sure you could ask for much more from a network.

WARNING

⚠️ WARNING ⚠️

I haven’t been a Sky customer for over 5 years, yet somehow a fraudster hacked my old account and ordered a brand new iPhone worth £1128 in my name.

I reported this to Sky five times. I also reported it to the police and the cyber crime unit. And what has Sky done? Absolutely nothing.

It has now been 4 days since I raised the alarm – and the fraudulent order is STILL active on my account. Even worse, someone is still actively trying to hack into my Sky account, and Sky is just sitting on their hands, doing nothing to stop it.

To make matters worse, I had to take it upon myself to contact DPD directly in order to try to cancel the delivery – because Sky refused to take any responsibility. Imagine that: Sky allowed a fraudster to order an expensive phone in my name, failed to stop it despite my repeated reports, and then left me to clean up the mess on my own by chasing the courier.

This is a total disgrace. Sky clearly has:

No proper security checks

No verification process

No commitment to protecting customers

I have suffered unnecessary stress and anxiety due to Sky’s negligence, and I’m now involving lawyers to take this further.

If this is how Sky treats customers (and ex-customers!), then nobody is safe. Avoid Sky at all costs – they will not protect you, your account, or your personal data.

Review of Tesco Insurance

Avoid

In April, I received the renewal for my cat’s insurance policy. The price was far too high, so I cancelled. On 15th April, I even received an email from Tesco confirming that the policy had been terminated.

Fast forward to early September – I get a letter saying my premiums have not been collected since May and that I owe £108 in October. This is absolutely outrageous. I cancelled in April, I have proof of cancellation, and yet Tesco kept my policy running as if nothing happened.

If I hadn’t cancelled the direct debit myself and followed up, Tesco would have happily charged me for months on a policy I had already cancelled. Even now, the policy still appears active and despite multiple promises, nobody has confirmed that the £108 charge is cancelled or that the policy is truly terminated.

This feels like incompetence at best, and at worst a deliberate attempt to take money from customers who trust their cancellation has gone through. Completely unacceptable service – avoid at all costs.

Twitch is a complete scam

Twitch is a complete scam. Ads every 1–2 minutes — they claim it’s “supporting the streamer” but in reality it’s just Twitch lining their own greedy pockets. The viewing experience is unbearable, creators get scraps while Amazon laughs all the way to the bank. Absolute garbage platform. If you want to actually support streamers and not get bombarded with endless ads, go to the green platform — KICK. Much better, much fairer. Twitch is finished.

One Star

My daughter bought two bracelets in a local shop in Telford, one for herself and one for her friend. The staff was very unfriendly during the purchase.

The bracelets irritated the skin as they were slightly too tight. When we went back to return them, we were told that the shop does not offer refunds, only store credit.

This policy was not explained before purchase – it only appeared on the receipt after payment. We feel very disappointed and misled. A full refund should have been offered instead of forcing customers into unwanted store credit.

One Star is Too Generous – Avoid Admiral Travel Insurance at All Costs

We purchased travel insurance from Admiral, including gadget cover, for our family trip. We started our journey in the UK, took a ferry to France, and then continued driving across Europe to Poland, where we stayed with family.

During our stay, my daughter accidentally dropped her phone on the street and cracked the back. From day one, the claims process has been a nightmare. The people working at Admiral clearly lack basic knowledge and understanding. They kept insisting on proof of accommodation, but since we stayed with family, we obviously don’t have hotel receipts – only fuel and travel-related expenses.

To make matters worse, their staff apparently doesn’t even know where Dunkirk is or how one could possibly travel from France to Poland by car. Absolutely ridiculous.

But the biggest joke? They’re demanding a £319 repair invoice for a phone that’s worth around £200. What kind of logic is that?

This company is a disgrace. Total clowns running a travel insurance scam. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. Don’t waste your time, money, or trust on Admiral. When you really need help, they’ll leave you high and dry.

@edit 09/08/2025
The best part? Every single person I spoke to on the phone at Admiral Travel seemed confused – some even asked why we travelled from Dover to Dunkirk instead of Dover directly to Poland. Seriously? This is basic geography – something you learn in school.

Review of Aviva

Aviva is a disgrace – stay far away

If I could give zero stars, I would without hesitation.

Aviva is an absolute disgrace when it comes to handling claims. I had a minor accident abroad and submitted my claim the moment I got back. That’s where the nightmare began. Since day one, not a single person from Aviva has bothered to contact me with an update. I’ve had to call them myself, over and over again, just to ask if anything is happening.

They’re quick to sell you a policy, quick to take your money – but the second you actually need help, they vanish.

I received one call (finally), but because I was at work, I asked politely if they could call back in 30 minutes. Of course, no one ever called. No follow-up. No voicemail. Nothing.

I sent in every single document they asked for – photos, full claim details, everything – and now six days have gone by and I still have no idea what’s happening with my claim. No update, no timeline, no point of contact. Just silence.

Their communication is non-existent, their customer service is shocking, and the whole process feels like a deliberate attempt to make people give up on their claims. If you’re hoping for support, professionalism or even basic human decency – don’t count on Aviva.

Save yourself the stress. Avoid Aviva at all costs and go with a company that actually gives a damn about their customers. These people clearly don’t.

Review of Sygic

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Not worth it – unreliable and misleading navigation

I used Sygic on my iPhone during my return from holiday and it was a huge disappointment. Somewhere in the middle of Germany, Sygic showed 690 km and 9.5 hours to the ferry in France, while Google Maps showed only 500 km and 6 hours. That’s not a small difference – it’s a complete failure in route planning.

Sygic consistently creates weird, overly complicated routes across Europe, often adding unnecessary distance and time. In big cities, it tends to get confused, loses GPS signal more often than expected, and even directs you down roads with restrictions or no entry signs.

For a paid app, this level of inaccuracy is unacceptable. Stick to Google Maps – at least it won’t waste your time or get you into trouble.

Unfortunately

Unfortunately, this is yet another MSI product I’ve had problems with. It all started years ago with a motherboard that was constantly overheating, then I had issues with an MSI graphics card. But what’s happening now is just a joke. In 2022, I bought an MSI monitor from Currys. After a year, it broke down, so I sent it in for warranty repair. I was told it couldn't be fixed and would be replaced with a new one. In March 2023, I received the replacement monitor — and now, two years later, it has the exact same fault. I contacted MSI, and what do I hear? That devices provided as replacements under warranty are not covered by any further warranty. Seriously? That’s absurd. Avoid MSI at all costs — I’m never buying from them again.

AVOID

Unfortunately, even giving 1 star feels like too much. My 16-year-old daughter left for a school trip to France yesterday. Before she left the UK, we purchased a 2-day roam pass for her. The payment went through, so we assumed everything was fine — until she messaged us from a friend’s phone saying her roaming wasn’t working. Restarting the phone didn’t help.

I contacted their so-called support team via Facebook, and the response I got was laughable: "Sorry for the inconvenience, please ask your daughter to contact us directly." Are you serious? I’m literally telling you she has no way to contact anyone because your network has failed her completely. This is typical copy-paste, scripted nonsense with zero effort to actually help.

As soon as my daughter is back, we’re switching to another provider — one that actually has a working support line I can call and speak to a real person. Avoid this network at all costs. It's a waste of time and money.

Oh, and by the way — roaming only started working after we paid for an additional 1-day and 2-day roam pass. What a joke.

A year ago, I would have given 5 stars, but unfortunately, after changing the sweetener used in the e-liquids, coils burn out much faster. This issue has been reported multiple times, yet even after many months, the problem remains the same. I've been using the same device for years—on e-liquids from another brand, a coil lasts 7-9 days, while with these e-liquids, only 2-3 days.

Hi Lukasz,

We’re sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with coil lifespan while using our flavours. We completely understand how frustrating this can be, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention.

Sweeter e-liquids can sometimes cause coils to burn out more quickly due to natural caramelisation, but other factors can also play a role, such as the type of device, wattage settings, and whether the liquid is suited to the coil being used. We’d love to help you get the best possible experience from your setup, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to our customer service team—we’d be happy to offer some guidance.
