Philips Genie lamp lasts 2.5% of claimed lifetime
Bought Philips Genie WW27 600 lumen 11 watt energy saver lamp. About 125 weeks of occasional exterior use from January 2024. Died July 2026. Claimed to have "10 years lifetime based on 10,000 hours". This lifetime certainly less than 250 hours.
Don't buy Philips.

Fast and easy replacement service
I must be the only person who had a good experience! My sonic toothbrush went mouldy on the rubber part, where the attachment was but was still under warranty. I sent Phillips the serial number and the receipt of purchase, next thing I know, they’ve sent out a replacement that arrived very quickly. The new one is mould free and going strong!
Air-fryer review
I bought an air-fryer last week and it was just so convenient and it saved me a-lot of time from cooking and i could focus on other things. Such a great investment.

Delivery cancelled, prices increased
At the end of November, I purchased two Philips devices at a discount as part of a promotion. One of them was intended as a Christmas gift, and the delivery time was stated as a few working days. I didn't hear anything about the order for days, but assumed that everything would work out. About a week before Christmas, I contacted the customer hotline, where I was told that my address could not be found and that my order was on its way back to the warehouse (without ever informing me). I accepted that the products would not arrive in time for Christmas, but asked them to resend the order, as I had never had any problems with my address before. After another week, I received a letter informing me that the order had unfortunately been automatically cancelled and that it was not possible to resend it. I got my money back with the suggestion that I could simply reorder, but the catch was that the same products now cost about 50 Euros more. I contacted customer support and asked them to allow me to purchase the items at the originally agreed price, but I never received a reply. This is not what customer satisfaction looks like.
My Philips hairdryer I bought in 1994 is still going
I bought my Philips hairdryer in 1994, for my son to take to college (it only worked when you held it, and cut out when you put it down, brilliant technology for a student!)
Since about 2008, when my own hairdryer broke, I have been using the little Philips hairdryer myself, on average 3 times a week, including this morning.
I think it might be getting tired😥 as sometimes it slows down when using it.
well done Philips
Absolutely no aftercare whatsoever
Absolutely no aftercare whatsoever. Hopeless.
Perfectcare compact iron
I have a perfectcare compact iron. This is the third time it has stopped working properly in as many years. Now i am being told that as the iron has exceeded it’s 6 month warranty (6 months!!?) i will have to pay £69 for a repair. I am furious and basically will never buy a philips item again. Defective rubbish and not fit for purpose.
When did buying an iron and it going wrong 3 times be considered normal ?!

Fantastic LED technology — but please bring the Ultra Definition bulbs to Europe!
Philips LED technology is absolutely fantastic. The quality, consistency, and innovation behind their products really stand out — the light feels natural, vibrant, and comfortable for both home and professional use.
That’s why it’s surprising that the Ultra Definition bulb range, which offers exceptional color accuracy and a truly premium lighting experience, isn’t available in Europe. These bulbs have almost no competition in the market, and it would be amazing to see them here for customers who care about high color fidelity lighting.
I’m sure many people would appreciate having access to this level of quality — it could make Philips an even stronger leader in high-end LED lighting.

I am appalled by how Philips GmbH treats its customers.
I ordered two high-end toothbrush sets from the official Philips online shop and returned them within the legal return period. Philips even confirmed the returns by email.
Yet I only received a small refund of €38.50 – over €400 is still missing.
Multiple inquiries have either been ignored or answered with generic copy-paste responses. It feels like once Philips has your money, they stop caring.
This behavior is not only unprofessional, it borders on deliberate obstruction.
I strongly advise against purchasing from the Philips online store. I am currently considering legal action.
DO NOT BUY FROM PHILIPS
DO NOT BUY FROM PHILIPS.
I bought an expensive steam iron with the useless ‘easy de-calc’ technology. The easy de calc for a start is not easy- you have to turn the iron off and not iron for hours as the iron has to be completely cold to be able to do the de- calc process which is completely stupid.
My iron would not stop flashing to tell me to do the de-calc process so I could not use it. I sent it to Philips for repair and they sent it back to me ‘repaired’. However the same issue is still there and I cannot use the iron.
Philips response was send the iron back to us for repair. This is so infuriating - what is the point in sending it back for repair a second time to be told it’s repaired when it isn’t.
The iron is also still in warranty.
I will now give up and buy another iron from a better company.
Do not buy a Philips steam iron!!
Buyer beware
Dear Lord, stay away from sonic care, toothbrush, products, especially anything with vibration monitoring technology, which I’m pretty sure after doing more research is just gimmick associated with design flaw. Yes I am a certified buyer. Other than the mechanical flaws, don’t think you’re paying top dollar for superior customer service. Yes, mine broke after two months, yes my warranty replacement broke after two months, yes warranty department is now ghosting me/customer since February after trying to continue the warranty process. No, there is no customer service number to call, only online and email. Ever hear of someone having similar trouble with the CPAP machine? Yes this is the same company. Yes, I Filed a complaint with my credit card co., yes Phillips found energy to fight that cc dispute with some legal mumbo-jumbo, yet still has done nothing to try to warranty my toothbrush. Bought a.SURI brand for 1/3 the price, couldn’t be happier. Wish I could give Philip sonicare zero stars but cannot so have to give them one… and I guess they’ll keep my $300. Buyer beware.
obstinate Philips customer services
I bought a shiny new 43PUS8807 in January 2023 thinking how fantastic it'll be. Has mostly been good except one glaring issue. Settings cannot be accessed from any Freeview based apps, itvx, iPlayer, pop, etc.
When the button is pressed you are abruptly put back on the home screen meaning HDR settings cannot be changed from there.
Philips were made aware of this issue around June 2023 and you end up with the usual turn it off and on, reinstall. They were adamant it is normal to not be able to access settings from there even though every other app allows access. A fair bit of back and forth happened and they close cases when asked about it refusing to even attempt to consider there is an issue. Time goes on where I'm reminded that HDR content on any of those apps is unwatchable and how I can't adjust sound settings when needed.
More recently I asked Freeview about it and they have said that this is not normal and it is behaving like a compatibility issue which would be sorted on Philips side.
I Was under the impression that dealing directly with Philips would be the right move as they should have all the knowledge and power to sort an issue but no.
They have tried to tell me that an issue with settings not opening in iPlayer is different to settings not opening in all Freeview based apps. I regret saying specifically in 2023 as that's now being used against me, claiming you're outside warranty with a new issue.
They have dragged this outside warranty by saying this is normal so they they can get away with doing nothing. I'm amazed this long has past to not have an outcome from a company I assumed was reputable.

Never again a fully automatic coffee machine from Saeco/Philips!
Immature products are put on the market and the customer has to bear the consequences. A cheaper no-name device for 250 euros has served me for nine years without any problems, while your product and service disappoint across the board.
I am extremely disappointed with the Saeco Xelsis Suprema (model SM8889/00) and the Philips/Saeco brand as a whole. The coffee machine has had various software errors and technical problems from the start, which is unacceptable for a premium product in this price range (approx 1600 €).
The problems include:
Software bugs that affect operation.
Irregular display illumination that suddenly lights up.
Switch-on problems that can only be solved by repeatedly plugging and unplugging the power cord.
Noise problems, probably due to air in the pump, which indicates a poor seal to the water tank.
Inconsistent coffee quantities that do not correspond to the set quantity.
Latest fault: A continuous loop when restarting, rendering the machine unusable.
These problems have occurred repeatedly, even though the machine has already been sent in for repair twice. It is particularly annoying that another fault occurred shortly after the warranty expired, rendering the machine unusable. Our trust in the brand has been completely lost as a result.
It is disappointing that Philips/Saeco seems to expect customers to regularly send in such an expensive machine for repair instead of offering a permanent solution or an update to fix these “teething problems”. A product in this price range should work for more than two years without any problems.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this appliance and the associated service to anyone who is looking for a reliable fully automatic coffee machine. Philips/Saeco should learn from these mistakes and offer their customers better solutions.
Shortly after the warranty expired, I was charged 500 euros for a repair without any goodwill or explanation of the defect - this is unacceptable.
I bought a coffee maker online
I bought a coffee maker online, my old unit made better coffee so I returned it, but they never issued a refund, so I cancelled the charge with my credit card. They keep trying to reject the refund through my bank, even though they acknowledge receipt of the return.
If you must buy a Philips product, buy it from Amazon or another reputable store but NEVER buy directly from Philips!
Philips Turkey is lying when selling its product.
I bought a PHILIPS Aqua Trio 9000 vacuum cleaner 10 months ago. The service representative said that the head needed to be changed. However, the head was out of warranty. I learned that only the motor of the vacuum cleaner was under warranty. However, everywhere it says 2 years warranty. Philips Turkey is deceiving the consumer by saying there is a 2-year warranty.
