COMPLETELY BREAKING AUSSIE LAW - 100% GRUBS
I gave them 1 star because there was no option to leave 0 stars. This company 100% of the time works against the laws and is solely focused on not giving you access to your data. They are grubby, give no care for you, only want your sub and HAVE zero respect for your data or your information. I hope they burn in hell!
This is the WORST AI experience I have…
This is the WORST AI experience I have ever had. We were on a roll, I paid for the subscription then it ways "we can't go to the next step until your account resets" I was like, what, I paid for a subscription, what do you mean. So basically paying does nothing, absolutely nothing. I do graphics of t-hirst, it said I can only do one graphic every 30 days. Ummm I run a business, paid for a business access and you are telling me I can only do 1 graphic every 30 days? I said well I have tokens, he basically told me, that means absolutely nothing. I contacted customer service, they were not nice at all, was shocked. Told me that it is what it is. I will not recommend or use this app ever again. Acted like "We don't need you so go somewhere else if you don't like it" , I said BS in a text to the customer service rep and got reprimanded telling me to watch my attitude or else. I WILL NEVER USE THIS APP AGAIN! Freaking crazy , they think they are untouchable, guess what, you are not and you won't last.
I chose PHP as the currency for…
I chose PHP as the currency for Perplexity Pro. The checkout screen explicitly displayed “Planpreis 20,00 PHP pro month”. To be sure, I even asked Perplexity’s own AI chatbot, which confirmed that the price was indeed 20 Philippine Pesos.
Instead, they charged PHP 1,283.58 (equivalent to 20 USD at the exchange rate). When I requested a refund with full screenshots, support repeatedly refused, strictly applying their 24-hour refund policy – even though the misleading display only became clear when I checked my bank statement.
I barely used the service. The subscription will auto-cancel on June 25, 2026, but the lack of accountability for such a clear UI/UX error is unacceptable.
This feels like deceptive sales practice under consumer protection laws. I recommend extreme caution when subscribing, especially from the Philippines or other PHP regions.

Charging me $24 per month for pro plan and has the nerve to tell me to still buy credits after just one prompt in a day! What the hell!

Advertised "unlimited file uploads" — changed without notice — AI support refused compensation
Perplexity's own AI support agent admitted in writing: "file uploads were previously marketed as unlimited for Pro, but this has recently changed."
Here is what happened:
- I subscribed to Pro based on advertised "unlimited file uploads."
- Without any prior notice, my file upload access was blocked entirely — TWICE in the same week.
- Support confirmed the restriction was caused by Perplexity's own policy change, not by any misuse on my part.
- I reviewed the Terms of Service — there is no mention of any file upload limits for Pro subscribers anywhere.
- When I submitted a formal complaint, it was closed by an AI agent with no human escalation.
- Compensation was refused entirely.
- The only solution offered: pay more and upgrade to Max.
Summary:
- Advertised: Unlimited file uploads for Pro.
- Delivered: Secret weekly limits with zero disclosure.
- Terms of Service basis: None found.
- Resolution offered: Pay more.
I strongly caution anyone considering Perplexity Pro to read reviews carefully before subscribing.

Test monthly before buying annual
Test monthly before buying annual. Y? The credit system felt hidden at signup: I got 4,000 credits, then nearly 100 vanished after only three basic questions, despite being told simple questions should not cost much unless heavy processing is involved. Refills are $100 for 10,000 credits, so the subscription price is not the real cost. Monthly lets you cancel; annual locks you in. I already cancelled my new annual subscription, though, because it's highway robbery. This review 35pts to re-write...
Subscription is predatory.
Perplexity Pro Review: Misleading Model Selection and Terrible Customer Service
TL;DR: Perplexity’s “Best” model repeatedly failed to choose the best option for simple tasks, and I strongly suspect it often defaults to cheaper models instead of the most capable ones. On top of that, their customer service has been terrible. I have had support tickets open for weeks to months with no meaningful follow-up, despite being a paying customer.
This is the first time I have ever written a review for anything on Trustpilot. The software and customer service are seriously that appalling.
I have caught Perplexity’s “Best” algorithm multiple times failing to choose the best model for the job. At this point, I genuinely believe “Best” often means “cheapest” rather than “most capable.” Maybe that is not always the case, but during peak traffic especially, it seems like it may default to the cheapest option.
The most appalling example happened when I asked it to generate a list of anime that aired on Toonami from around 2001 to 2008, or possibly 2010. The exact date range may be slightly off in my memory, but the subject matter is accurate.
Instead of answering the question, it gave me the runaround about how many resources a request like that would consume. I asked again, and it continued insisting that even if it attempted the task, the list could never be accurate because of the amount of resources required. After spending about five minutes trying to get past its dismissive responses, I switched to ChatGPT 5.5 within the Perplexity website. Keep in mind, I had been using the “Best” option right before that.
ChatGPT 5.5 was able to provide exactly what I asked for, and it did so faster than the time I had already wasted arguing with the “Best” model. In other words, it completed the task in under five minutes.
Afterward, I went through the list myself and verified the results across roughly ten different websites. Out of spite, I did the dirty work. Based on the information I could find, it was 100% accurate.
I then created a support ticket because this felt like obvious fraudulent behavior. They sent their Sam AI to “clear things up,” but Sam AI gave up pretty quickly and said someone would reach out shortly. That was a week ago. I also have another support ticket that has been open for at least one or two months, and no one has followed up on that either.
Keep in mind, I am a paying customer. They also offer higher subscription tiers that cost significantly more money. If this is the level of customer service paying users receive at the lower tier, I cannot imagine the experience is any better at the higher tiers.
I informed them that I canceled my subscription because of all of this, as well as the fact that none of my concerns or questions were ever properly addressed. THEY NEVER GOT BACK TO ME. Based on my experience, I do not recommend using this company.
$167 = zero usable app!
In principle, perplexity computer is a decent tool but it's not that great at fixing its own mistakes so you end up going back and forth a lot to get where you want to be.
I have paid $167 to develop 3 apps, and ran out of credits, before completing them. This means I spent $167 and I am stuck with zero usable app!
It sucks
It sucks! It doesn't follow instructions on purpose so you can chew up credits then have to buy more and then when you try and deal with customer support, it tells you your email doesn't exist when you send a screenshot of all of the emails they've sent to that email address they reverse themselves then they ask you to copy and paste all these URLs and when you finally figure that out then they tell you they're busy and not to touch the AI platform that you're complaining about cause it'll screw up their investigation and if you send a follow up email, it'll put you in the back of the queue. I'm waiting now almost an entire day and I've got a deadline. If you're running a business, don't use it.

Perplexity stealing money
Perplexity stopped my pro subscription and will not restore it. I paid a year in advance and I have reached out about 30 times and they will not respond. I still had 9 months left, and they will not restore what I paid for or get back to me when I ask for my money back. They have stole money from me and multiple others! It is a complete scam, I cannot believe they are allowed to still trade.
Scammer company, stay away
Undisclosed usage limits without using undocumented api, silently cut mid-contract.
Yearly Pro subscription cancelled without reason. Coupons consumed without delivering the benefits.

32 days, approved refund, zero action
Title: 32 days, approved refund, zero action — all AI, no humans
Review:
I accidentally activated Perplexity Max and contacted support within hours of the charge on April 16. Their AI agent "Sam" confirmed my refund eligibility of $199.37 in writing on the very same day and said my case was being escalated to a specialist.
That was 32 days ago.
Since then I have sent dozens of emails. Every single one has been handled by Sam, the AI agent, who has no ability to actually process anything. My case has been "escalated" to: a specialist, the Pro Max team, a teammate, a billing team — each time with words like "urgent" and "critical priority." Nothing has ever happened after any of these escalations.
At one point they sent me an email threatening to close my ticket because I "hadn't responded" — when I had been emailing them constantly. They later admitted this was sent in error.
I opened a new support thread to try and get a fresh set of eyes. It was immediately merged back into the original dead ticket — with the exact same copy-paste response I got weeks ago.
I am a student. $199.37 is significant money. The refund was approved in writing on day one. I still don't have it back.
Perplexity's support system is entirely automated with no path to a real human being. If something goes wrong with your billing, you are completely on your own. Avoid paid subscriptions until they have actual human support in place.
Ok first comet is the worst browser ive…
Ok first comet is the worst browser ive seen since 1997 ask jeeves was better then than this now. Second its an ai company who ai cant get basic data off the web without paying for computer credits. It glitches regularly ive lost WEEKS of work and workflow builds and the best part is their own customer service ai has deleted my account before in trying to “help” and after MANY attempts to get a human involved to help weeks and nothing but runaround from”sam” their super crappy ai chat bot service rep and manager 😂 seriously of you want to build real ai stacks and do real work STAY AWAY
Sneaky Limits, Zero Communication, and Useless Support
I've been a Pro subscriber for a while now, and the experience has gone from decent to deeply frustrating. Perplexity has a habit of quietly reducing usage limits — on queries, model access, file uploads, you name it — without sending any notification, email, or in-app warning. You simply hit a wall mid-workflow and only then discover your plan has been quietly capped.
What makes this worse is the clear pattern: limits get tightened just enough to push you toward the next, more expensive tier. It doesn't feel like a technical necessity — it feels like a deliberate strategy to extract more money from paying customers who are already on a Pro plan.
When I reached out to customer support, I was bounced around a chatbot that couldn't resolve anything beyond basic FAQ responses. Getting through to an actual human was either impossible or took so long it became pointless. There was no real acknowledgment of the issue, no timeline for a fix, and no goodwill gesture for the inconvenience caused.
For a product that positions itself as a premium AI search tool, the customer service infrastructure is embarrassingly poor. Billing and account management feel like an afterthought.
If you're considering a paid plan, read the fine print very carefully — and screenshot your plan details the moment you subscribe, because things can change without warning.
Canceled and won't be back
Never have I seen a tech company go from hero to zero so quickly. They build up a loyal group of raving fans and then completely alienated them with the hopeless introduction of Perplexity Computer. The UI changes that make it almost impossible not to occasionally trigger Perplexity Computer by accident are rookie errors, and the complete lack of human support makes it impossible to regain the credits or get any kind of refund. I have now moved everything to Claude and have to say, I am actually glad this happened as Claude is so much better. Yes, Perplexity is good at doing up-to-date research with references, but other than that it is not in the same league as Claude. I get that errors happen, but the whole Perplexity Computer introduction has been a case study in how to mess up your business in a week.
