Two years ago my average electricity bill was 150€ . Now for same usage i pay around 240€ and last month i got letter with another 10% bill increase . I move to other company . Stay away from that greedy company .
Customer service is terrible
Customer service is terrible. They can't speak English so just hang up on you.
Dangerous system error, zero empathy, and dismissive staff
Electric Ireland took an unauthorized duplicate payment of €89.58 from my account over the weekend, leaving me completely short of essential funds. This unprovoked error caused me severe financial distress, extreme anxiety, and left me physically shaking and sick to my stomach this morning. To make matters worse, their systems were down this morning when I tried to get it sorted. When I finally got through after they came back online, the staff were incredibly dismissive and bluntly told me to just call back when it processes. There was absolutely no acknowledgment of the distress they caused, and no mention of a goodwill gesture for their severe service failure. My bank was significantly more helpful and supportive than Electric Ireland. I have now been forced to open an official transaction dispute with my bank just to protect my money from this company. This is a shocking way to treat customers. Absolutely disgraceful service. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD
Waiting on Bill the last 2 weeks
Waiting on Bill the last 2 weeks. Rang electric Ireland to see where is our bill, terrible customer service. No help at all.
These people shouldn't be allowed to…
These people shouldn't be allowed to provide power in our country. Price hikes over charging no support ,I know we don't have many options in Ireland but these people take the absolute P×××
Pity about the price rises but shout out to this nice lady
I spoke with a lady called Justine who was polite & professional. Her tone was reassuring & warm & she answered all of my questions. In a week when we all got the bad news about the price rises it's good to know that at least the people on the phone do care & are understanding. Well done Justine & thank you.
Regards, John

Shameful Company
When my mother passed away, Electric Ireland told me the balance on her account was nil. Some three months later I received a LEGAL DEMAND LETTER from a Hugh Ward & Co Solicitors, demanding payment for an outstanding bill for Electric Ireland. I was never sent any invoice in the first place, nor was the Estate. An absolutely shocking way to treat customers who were loyal for more than 30 years. Shame on you as a company.
Inept
Inept. Customer services staff do not speak clear English, have no clue what I am saying to them. Impossible to resolve issues. You might resolve an issue at 10am and by 10.15am you receive another call about the same thing. Useless.
And lets not forget how they charged us all even when we had no electricity for over 6 weeks in one year. Disgusting company.
I have to say
I have to say , if I could give 0 I would.
been on a full solar system (PAYG) for a year now.
havent had a micro gen credit in months been calling for help and emailing but no one is coming back to us. makes me think that electric Ireland are being dishonest about what energy PAYG customers are generating as there is no consistency in the micro gen top ups very worrying
Very poor or no customer service
Very poor or no customer service, website just dysfunctional.
Contact numbers mostly do not work.
If I could give - minus Stars I would
Customer Care is shocking
Customer Care is absolutely disgusting….
I don’t know how they get away with it they haven’t a clue and hanging up on customer is a no go in my books….
How they are still in business and sponsor such big event in the country is beyond me…
Useless
I just changed to electric Ireland. I’ve had electricity 4 weeks and gas 11 days. I have a gas bill for 235euro!!!! I was previously a Prepower customer until the meter was changed over and they’re trying to bill me from the date I REQUESTED the gas account. I’ve just contacted the CRU and a solicitor. Do not use this company unless you want to pay for gas they never supplied you with
No power
I signed up for Electric Ireland on a Friday. Told the the connection would be through in a few hours, possibly up to 24 hours. Tuesday morning still no power. I was told it was a glitch on there system.
Worst company I have ever had the…
Worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Bills not sent on time and then two bills arrive together resulting in double payment causing financial stress. Ignoring my complaints. Grossly overestimated meter readings and refusal to amend bill when I submitted meter readings, despite having sent photo of readings including photo of date generated by the meter. Insisted on photo of meter readings whilst holding newspaper to verify the date of reading. Insisting this was an ESB requirement
I am still awaiting an accurate bill despite several phone calls and multiple emails
I would strongly advise anyone thinking about using Electric Ireland to go elsewhere.

Im a many year customer with Electric Ireland but now they are forcing me to change company. I had no issues with them at all but now their contract renewal is a joke.
I have got a call from them to renew my contract. First thing they have offered me to shop around giving me just a few days for this as contract is over on 29th. I asked what is their offer and i was told 16% off ( last year I had 18%) so 2 % down. I have told the agent ok ill shop around and will get back with my decision.
I called them back in 2 days saying Im ok to stay with 16% now they say offer os gone and they can offer me only 10% discount :D. My surprise was to the sky :). Does Electric Ireland have too many customers and so actively forcing loyal customers to go away?
Avoid . Unless you love stress. Having no gas or esb
Worst ever trying to go pre pay gas and electricity. Sorry I bothered with them. I want to get out of dealing with them. Too stressed 😫 from simple enough task.
Awful switching experience
Awful switching experience. Asked for dual fuel to be transferred - they only transferred gas and didn't notify me that elec transfer hadn't gone through (they input details incorrectly). Have now noticed that they transferred gas for the day I called rather than the next day as requested therefore I have received a €50 early termination charge for my previous supplier.

I changed provider and now it's half price at €350 for two months
