Previously used Stan, cancelled ages ago, however recently received an email with a $2 a month for 2 months to re-activate the account on Basic Plan. Well, ignoring content, the continual buffering... See more

The worst feeling after paying for the subscription.
The app is barely working and the ads! We paying to watch their ads!
Very frustrating experience
I only subscribe to Stan as they’re the only premier league providers in Australia. Ad such they have a monopoly and charge accordingly. Unfortunately the service provided does not match the cost. It’s a Rolls Royce price for a clapped out Holden. Constantly breaking down, tempremental and utterly unreliable. It “errors” consistently and needs tinkering and patience to recover any value. I decided to write this review after suffering another frustrating experience during a liverpool game just now. Soon as a new provider takes up football I’ll move on.
SCAM to unsubscribe
I unsubscribed then I watched a bit of some show not realising it was STAN I did not resubscribe it did it automatically, for the more expensive option of course , it took 2 payments before I had realised it's such a SCAM then to unsubscribe again they make it that difficult they hope you will just give up ,so disgusting I am a disability pensioner they could care less . I personally will never watch STAN again its pretty crappy

Stan is terrible
I pay a lot for the Stan subscription............ more than any other service . yet the quality is by far the worst with too many times when I cant get a picture at all and when I do, it is interrupted frequently with buffering, and then ads. In fact it works best when the ads are on. Curious!! If I could I would cancel the subscription due to the poor service. An example was the Wallabies v. Springboks game in Perth on 27.9.26 when we struggled to get the game on at all, and then the post game interviews would not stream. Significantly when we switched to the free channel 9 that channel worked fine. Another example was the winter Olympics when buffering was a major interruption. It is not my TV because Netflix works fine.
A let-down
Good selection of Movies and Programming. BUT:
the sport live-streams are trash. Constant buffering and quality down to 480p.
Live in the city, have a high-speed fibre 500mbps connection, modern TV, cache always cleared, modem constantly restarted - and the quality constantly drops out, even at 7am on a Sunday.
Appalling for a subscription service in 2026.
The Stan sport app constantly freezes
The Stan sport app constantly freezes. Unable to watch a live football game without some sort of interruption. EPL should have stayed on Optus. This isn’t a one off either

I subscribed to Stan for the sports coverage & in particular their coverage of Premier League football from England. The bonuses are Champions League & tennis
at $20 AUD per month (for the top 4K package), I find this good value & more than happy with the service

Cancelled Stan last night for the very simple reason that their extremely annoying screaming ad ' enter the chat' is on every ad break. So annoying couldn't care what shows they have. So i'm letting you know we hate it!!!! Anyway saved some $$ but still have to put up ....couldnt keep paying for the privilege ha ha
Stan
Stan, are you kidding? I watch the US Open highlights, and every time I start a new highlight you are showing me at least a 30s ad...
Terribe
Stan is riddled with basic problems, such as missing episodes, incorrect or missing subtitles, and now multiple ads throughout episodes, and somehow the customer service experience is even more frustrating.
I’ve repeatedly taken the time to provide detailed, constructive feedback, including clearly listing the exact episodes affected. And what do I get back? A response asking me which episodes are missing. At that point, you genuinely have to wonder whether anyone actually reads the feedback customers submit.
The introduction of multiple ads throughout episodes is another brilliant decision. I’m already paying for a subscription, yet Stan seems determined to make the viewing experience progressively worse while squeezing even more revenue out of its customers.
What’s particularly frustrating is that these aren’t obscure or complicated issues. Missing episodes and broken subtitles are incredibly basic problems for a streaming service to get right. When customers repeatedly point them out and nothing meaningfully improves, it starts to feel less like an occasional technical issue and more like a complete lack of attention to the service.
Stan seems far more interested in adding advertising and collecting subscription money than delivering a reliable streaming experience or listening to the people actually paying for it.
Embarrassing.
shocking terrible ,
Excited premier league is back, but same old story, shocking reception stops more then it starts? they treat us like idiots? on and on, disgusting why they get away with it? micky mouse of live to air, now i have to cancel my subscription, and there is a problem there i believe, ?
Total garbage
If I could give Stan a negative rating i would. 1 star is far too generous for this pathetic, greedy service. I got this to watch Live Rugby. Absolutely terrible quality for live streams. Constant buffering, lagging, or just stops mid game. Going to cancel this rubbish. Wish Foxtell could get Rugby back. Super Rugby, Test matches are unwatchable and these clowns don't seem to care.

Paying $45 per month for Stan and Stan Sport and still getting aha at every break!
Poor Stan. Very poor!
I originally signed up for Stan Sport…Premium price for a free-to-air ad experience. Unacceptable.
I originally signed up for Stan Sport for one simple reason: to watch sport uninterrupted, the way a premium, paid service is supposed to be delivered. The recent decision to shoehorn ads into every break of play is an absolute slap in the face to paying subscribers and a classic bait-and-switch. Sport is entirely about momentum, tension, and atmosphere. Forcing commercials into these natural pauses completely destroys the flow and enjoyment of the game. We are already paying a premium add-on subscription fee on top of a base Stan package specifically to avoid the frustrating, ad-heavy experience of free-to-air television. Instead, Stan is now double-dipping-charging us top-tier rates while subjecting us to a relentless barrage of ads. The absolute most infuriating part of this downgrade is the enforced 3.5-minute ad block at rugby half-time, just seen on a REPLAY. One of the biggest benefits of watching sport on-demand used to be the ability to skip the half-time waffle and get straight back into the action. Now, we are held hostage to unskippable ads just to resume a game we’ve already paid to watch. It completely defeats the purpose of having an on-demand sports platform. This is nothing but sheer corporate greed. If I wanted to be force-fed ads every few minutes, I’d watch regular TV for free. Stan needs to remember what they are charging us for. Reverse this terrible, anti-consumer decision immediately, or you will lose a massive chunk of your subscriber base. I am already looking at canceling. Unacceptable.

I had a deal with STAN for 2 months i would only pay $2.00 per month. I was locked out as they weren't able to access my account due to lack of funds. I've now rectified this but they now want me to sign up to a much more expensive deal and are not letting me finish my 2 months. Won't be signing up with Stan again.
Poor
Poor. Stan Sport costs me $43.99 per month, and they have now started enforcing mandatory ads before I can watch the content I've already paid for. Not ethical.
