I have been sitting on this review for a week or so deciding whether or not I should post it.
Safe financial seem great to begin with, however that quickly changed. Before I signed my loan agreement I presented the issue that they wanted to take the fortnightly repayments on the date I get paid however as I explained to them i don't often get paid early in the day it's usually at night time so can we please move the payment date to the following day so there will always be money available to take. I was told at the time that's the way it has to be and if it presents as an issue we would cross that bridge when it happened.
All was going ok because my pays were going in early, inevitably though my pay went in at its normal time around 7 p.m. and of course there was no money to take the loan repayment from that account.
No problem I thought I'll give them a call in the morning get them to retake it and hopefully now change the payment date till the following day.
The next morning I rang up straight away and was told there is a $35 dishonor fee which I disagreed with because this was an issue I saw coming and raised with them only to be ignored. I was told there was nothing she could do about the dishonor fee but she could raise it with management and they would give me a call, they did not.
I manually paid the payment as soon as I got off the phone with her and a couple of days later they were ringing for the dishonor fee, I explained to them the issue and why I disagreed with it. She went and spoke to somebody and came back and said as a courtesy to me they would do it this one time and then proceeded to give me a lecture about having money in my account.
They take no ownership in the fact that I raised this issue and was completely ignored by their so-called customer service and then the so-called customer service proceeded to lecture me. I received two phone calls and a letter in the mail for being 12 hours late on a payment even though if they had just listened the payment would never have been late.
The customer service at safe financial is absolutely putrid. They speak down to their customers, blatantly ignore them and then want to be paid for their ignorance!!
I implore anybody looking for a loan to look elsewhere and if I can prevent just one person getting a loan through these people I will sleep better at night.

As we take customer concerns seriously, we have carefully reviewed the call recordings and account notes relating to your loan and our review was unable to identify any discussion prior to settlement regarding your pay regularly arriving after your scheduled repayment time. To ensure complete transparency, we provided you with copies of the relevant call recordings by email last week in an effort to resolve your concerns; however, we have not received a response.
Our standard process is to schedule repayments on the borrower's nominated payday (a process designed to ensure funds are available) which is exactly what was done in your case.
We acknowledge that a repayment was dishonoured and understand this caused frustration. While the dishonour fee was applied in accordance with your loan agreement, it was later waived as a gesture of goodwill after you raised your concerns with us.
We also take customer service seriously and would never want a client to feel spoken down to. We are committed to treating all customers fairly and respectfully, and we are disappointed to hear that this was not your experience. While we respect your right to share your views, our review of the available records does not support a number of the claims made in your review.
Should you wish to discuss the matter further, we remain available so we can work through any outstanding concerns together.
