Samantha is amazing at what she does and well worth retaining for her expertise

My experience with Lawpath has been an absolute nightmare. I genuinely regret using their services to register my company. I was referred to Lawpath by EasyCompanies after they closed down, and I wish I had done more research and read the reviews before proceeding.

Here are the issues I experienced.

1. Misleading advertising and unexpected charges

Lawpath advertised company registration with wording indicating that I would only need to pay the government fees, which I understood to be approximately $636. I initially expected to pay around $649, but I was ultimately charged $833. This was not what I expected based on the advertised price.

2. Incorrect company registration details

I paid $833 to Lawpath.com.au to register my company. Their registration process uses AI to collect and process company details, but the details submitted for my company were incorrect.

I have registered many companies before, so I am familiar with the process. When I contacted Lawpath to report the error, I expected them to investigate and help resolve the problem.

Instead, I was told the mistake was my fault and that I would need to pay another $833 to have it corrected. That would bring the total cost to $1,666 to register a company and fix an error that I believe was not mine.

3. A subscription I did not knowingly agree to

Despite not clicking the subscription box, I found that my credit card had been linked to Lawpath's payment system and that I had been signed up for a subscription.

I did not knowingly authorise this subscription, yet trying to cancel it and remove my credit card details has been an incredibly frustrating experience.

It has now been weeks, and I am still being given reasons why my card details cannot be removed and why my subscription cannot be cancelled until 2027. We are in 2026, and I do not want or need this subscription.

This has left me concerned about the possibility of future renewal charges for a service I never intended to purchase.

4. A frustrating and confusing registration process

The registration process itself was concerning. After entering the company name I wanted to register, I was immediately prompted to pay. There was no clear opportunity at that point to review the full cost and understand what I was agreeing to before proceeding.

The amount ultimately charged was also higher than I had expected from the initial advertised price.

5. Unwanted sales calls after registering

Shortly after starting the registration process, I began receiving calls from banks, insurance providers, accounting firms and other businesses trying to sell me their products and services.

I did not see a clear option to opt out of these introductions during the process. It left me feeling that I had little choice if I wanted to proceed with my registration.

I cannot say for certain how these companies obtained my details, but the timing of these calls was concerning and left me questioning how my information had been shared and whether I had meaningfully consented to it.

6. Poor customer service and no satisfactory resolution

What has made this experience even worse is the way my concerns have been handled. Rather than feeling that anyone is genuinely trying to resolve the problems, I have repeatedly felt that the blame is being shifted back onto me.

I am told that I clicked the wrong button or selected a subscription, despite my position being that I did not knowingly agree to these things.

I expected a professional service that would take responsibility for investigating errors and addressing legitimate customer concerns. Instead, I have spent weeks trying to resolve issues that have caused me considerable frustration, financial worry and emotional distress.

The bottom line

I now face the prospect of paying another company to correct the company registration details, as well as potentially having to change my credit card number to protect myself from unwanted future charges.

What should have been a straightforward company registration has turned into a costly, stressful and time-consuming ordeal.

The name Lawpath gave me an expectation of professionalism and trust. Unfortunately, my personal experience has fallen far short of those expectations.

I strongly encourage anyone considering using Lawpath to read independent reviews carefully, check the full cost before paying, review any subscription terms, and pay close attention to how their payment details and personal information will be used.

I wish I had done this before signing up. It could have saved me considerable money, time, frustration and emotional distress.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend Lawpath.

Lawpath, Tyler Wilson & Samantha Wimalasuriya have been very supportive. I have felt very at-ease & comfortable talking about my ideas for my new company. Signed up to get some pro fomas for my new business and the sales agent called me 8 times in a hour. Is this normal? It was overwhelming for me. I was interested in the legal product but not so sure now.

Very limited services that are offered which not worth the price you pay. Another problem is that they tried to get you into a year subscription. All the products are offered in platform are generated by AI which can be obtained for free from website. The knowledge of the lawyers are limited to a certain area which sometimes is not as good as Chatgpt or Claude. I do not recommended it.

Really enjoyed learning Xero with Michelle. She explained everything in a very simple way and was happy to go over things again when I didnt understand something. She was also very patient and easy to ask questions to. I feel alot more confident using Xero now and would definitely recommend her if you’re looking to learn bookkeeping or Xero.

Do not waste your time with Lawpath if you need a company registered efficiently. They use highly aggressive, deceptive onboarding tactics disguised as administrative compliance.After customizing my package to avoid their hundreds of dollars in useless hidden add-ons, I completed my full application for my Pty Ltd company. The moment I hit submit, the platform locked my dashboard with a fake "ACTION REQUIRED" banner, explicitly stating that my company could not be activated until I booked a mandatory "free consultation call" with their team. This is a complete lie, company registration is an automated process with ASIC that does not require a sales call.To make matters worse, their direct debit payment gateway completely stalled, failing to process the transaction while holding my private director information hostage in a "pending" queue.They are deliberately creating artificial software blocks and manipulating language to force small business owners into phone queues just to upsell them on high-fee ongoing subscriptions and accounting retainers. It is an incredibly predatory and frustrating user experience.I abandoned the application, switched to a direct, no-frills software provider, paid with my card, and had my official Certificate of Incorporation from ASIC in my inbox within 15 minutes without any sales games. Avoid Lawpath if you value your time and honesty.

Anja has been amazing to deal with. She is incredibly prompt, responsive and always on top of deadlines, which gave us a lot of confidence throughout the process.

She is supportive, helpful and takes the time to clearly explain anything we don’t understand, without making things feel overwhelming. Communication has been excellent from start to finish and nothing ever feels like too much trouble.

We had a FREE 12 month subscription through Westpac - we had to agree to DD to get the deal. It was due to renew in June 2026, so I cancelled the subscription renewal in April 2026, plenty of time I thought. I was wrong!! Lawpath went ahead and charged a random amount, an amount they didn't have authority to charge. I have now spent the last two weeks trying to get them to refund the money they took.
Westpac have been zero help as well! But that is no surprise.
Do not trust Lawpath! They will take your money and provide zero help.
