Looking at 159 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently complain about the unhelpful customer support and the extreme difficulty of reaching someone to resolve account issues. People also noted frustrating subscription practices, such as unexpected auto-renewals, unexpected charges, and major barriers when trying to cancel their plans. Additionally, users experience frequent technical bugs and a complicated website layout that slows down everyday tasks. Some reviewers were happy with the platform, mentioning that the free plan and trial period are useful for basic needs. Bad Qual. Company

With the amount of alternatives, I hope Docusign quickly sees the red line.. they do not deserve anyone's future business.

Bad Termination Experience

Bad customer service once the client wants to terminate the agreement with Docusign. No proper follow-up or guidance through the termination process and if there are any issues, no proper support is given. It took more than 3 months to solve one issue related with the agreement termination.

Hot Garbage

Docusign is an incredible RIPOFF. Basic level allows 5 envelopes a month and they charge $15. Companies need to start allowing more options for processing electronic signatures. Hot garbage. So tired of being forced to work with them.

Your company is shit,

I didn’t want to renew that last time it came up for renewal, you automatically renewed because you had my credit card.

I won’t be making that mistake again.

Too many changes to often and lousy support. We need support yesterday when we have a problem. Not an hour on hold and talking to some idiot AI jut box.

I will discourage all from signing up with DocuSign.

DocuSign is asking for more information, I suggest you go back and listen to the call, they were being recorded. If this review is removed, then we will know we can't trust trustpilot.

They sell your data, been spammed and called since joining

The service is ok, but unfortunately they've instantly sold my email and phone number (which I couldn't log in without) and I'm now continually spammed, where I had very little before.

Paid pro account paid, free account given

Terms state account activation in 15-30 minutes but multiple hours and having dealt with the worst support, they are activating a free account when I paid for business pro. I bought this for specific needs for my company and even the free account, which won’t work for what I need doesn’t even work either. They have no idea what they are doing, have no real support and have taken my money in return for no service. Going to look for an alternative provider and now I’ve got to nussery sit their incompitent staff to get my money back or make a fraud claim. I knew the name and felt it was a leader digital signing platform, I wish I came to trust pilot first, I don’t have the time to be managing this level of imcompitance

Very Dissapointing and not much help offered

We are a small compay looking to move from signing pdf's with Browsers to something like docusign. We have extremely siimple needs such as max of 6 ricipients.

Its not the most intuitive product but with many years tied up with Systems and server software, I figured it would be max of a week before a conclusion

The eval version begins to error out (due to restrictions) or so it seemed because there were errors that didnt make sense. For example, in Eval There are Max recipients of 9 per envelope, or so it seems. A "Max Recipient per single transaction error" appears, but after 2 weeks I could no longer even send 1 ricipient without the error. Perhaps paying for a standard esig version would solve it? Maybe

But then the are other showstopers. In a pool of 10 pdf's which we always use, 6 would upload, 4 would not, genetrating The error "The pdf contains content that is not allowed". Solution in a search offered was to flaten out the file, which I often have had to do with doc imaging front ends. But the old flatening the file did not work. Furthermore why should customers spend time in having to do this? We know the are many ways to create pdf but we never had issues opening pdf's with different versions of adobe or browsers

There are a slew of other strange erros that dont seem to be related to "restrictions". Docusign Community offers not much help and support wont chat with eval versions. I did speak with sales but they werent much help. Once these errors begin to surface, the eval can offer no more help .

Docusign is definietly not WYSIWYG and that creates doubt before sending. Often times the sigs would not show in Preview Mode, even though you know you placed them on the form

We really want to like Docusign. It does appear to be robust and overkill for our bassic needs. But the support reviews and their eval product is not helping. We are concerned we would likley have to resort to using browsers and adobe

This company sells security which is completely flawed. The client has to store both the key and code on the same device. If your phone is stolen then it is easy to download the documents. There is no faculty to report this on their web site unlike credit cards.
The software is American hype which not fit for purpose and can not be trusted.
We have been trumped again and can not believe a single word that is said.

A horribly negative experience on an account my company has had since 2023. My renewal date was 5 dates ago when I was out of the country. Upon returning today, I attempted to downgrade my account which I did to a plan for $300 annually. When I updated my payment information, the charge was for the original plan with the downgraded plan starting in 2027. I immediate notified customer service to change plans and request a refund, only to be informed that refunds are not permitted even if I cancel my account altogether. A horrible business practice, especially for a long term client.

Poor Security & Zero Customer Service.

1. Having used Docusign through a requirement of a 3rd party, I am now subjected to scam emails, pretending to be docusign. This started at the same time of genuine / legitimate requirement. It therefore seems to be that Docusign have a poor control of security.
2. In an attempt to report the latest scam emails, I have followed both of Docusign's advised links - 'verify@docusign...' and 'spam@docusign...', and had my mails returned as undeliverable. This is very poor!

Hi Dylan, we’re sorry for the frustration and would like to have our teams get to the bottom of this. Often, sending suspicious content as an email attachment to verify@docusign.com (vs. forwarding the email directly) can fix the issue you're seeing. In the meantime, you should receive an email from Trustpilot requesting your contact information. If you'd like to share that information, we will have our teams look into this further.

Identifying a real Docusign request

I am an unpaid user that receives contracts from contractors to sign. Due to malicious Docusign (i.e. fake) emails, I have to check each one out and start calling contractors to find out who sent it. I have been told that Docusign does NOT have room to put project names or other identifiable information in the subject line or body. Those that have contacted Ds have been frustrated in their attempts to make the Ds emails more identifiable. Personally, to be it sounds like Ds has not even made to Beta status and should not be charging their dupes, sorry, I meant customers for a product that is not yet complete.

This update authorizes Trustpilot to provide Docusign with my information.

Sold an incorrect notarial platform…

Sold an incorrect notarial platform twice. Rude, snide, condescending representatives who spoke over me, refused to allow me to speak to the correct department, and repeatedly attempted to upsell again. After the 9-hour telephone debacle, over two days, I then received an email that refused my refund request.

The company is ruining application

The company continues to make changes to the application that has nothing to do with improving the users production.
They take useful items away and create more issues to slow the user down.
As an example, I have no idea why they hide the Sign Document in a drop-down under Envelopes. It needs to be on the main page separate from any other items.
They recently made changes and removed the ability to delete a file by simply moving to mouse over the file. Apparently enough users contacted the company because now that ability is back. Now the issue is the user used to be able reorganize the files because signing, just grab the file with a click of the mouse and slide it up/down, left/right. Not anymore. If you need to mota file, you have to start all over.
I've contacted Customer Support and their answer is to contact my administrator. No explanation just contact the administrator of the business account. No help whatsoever.

Docusign charged my credit card without…

Docusign charged my credit card without my consent for months, now they say I can't receive a refund when they are aware I did not and will never use their service. As a resident of Colorado, charging a consumer without affirmative consent violates state consumer protection laws. Since these are entirely unauthorized charges, your standard 30-day refund window does not apply.
Please immediately locate the account using my billing details, cancel the unauthorized subscription, and issue a full refund for all charges spanning November 2025 through July 2026. If this is not resolved promptly, I will escalate this case to the Colorado Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau.

Shocking experience

Shocking experience. The sales process was excellent, but everything after that was poor.

Onboarding was mediocre, and trying to downgrade our account was unnecessarily difficult, costly and unpleasant. We were pushed towards an expensive bulk-download option, given reams of confusing information and faced with a migration process that seemed designed to make downgrading or leaving as hard as possible.

We were not even trying to cancel completely, yet there was little effort to help us find a workable solution. To make matters worse, they threatened to involve their “compliance team”.

A slick sales process, but a deeply disappointing customer experience once you need to make changes.
