Outrageous, dishonest and exploitative conduct. Following damage to the original vehicle, I was moved to a different car without being told it was more expensive. GoGet then helped itself to additional money from my account without any disclosure or authorisation. This is not poor service, it is a deliberate failure to disclose pricing information and a textbook example of misleading and deceptive conduct. Increasing charges after the fact is legally questionable, and shows complete contempt for basic consumer protection obligations. The lack of transparency suggests a business model reliant on trapping customers rather than dealing honestly. I have been attempting to resolve amicably via email however they will not respond. I would strongly warn others to avoid this company.

If I could leave a zero star review I would. I had an issue and emailed the team. I hadn’t heard back after 2 days so I called the help line. I was told they would escalate my issue and call me back. They never called me back. A further 3 days later I finally got a response to me email informing me they would escalate my issue. I never heard back and still haven’t. I sent formal complaint via their website this took a further 3 days to get a response and they asked me for information I had already supplied. I gave them this information and mentioned I was extremely frustrated with their responses and how slow it had been. I then received a response to this where they did not acknowledge my complaint and addressed me by the completely wrong name. Wouldn’t trust them to help you if you got caught in a bind with response times like that and a complaints team that couldn’t care less….

It all worked as it should , simple and timely. Couldn’t ask for more

The van was in excellent condition, very easy to locate, and the whole process was smooth. Extending the booking time was quick and simple, which made everything even more convenient. I’d definitely use GoGet again.

Dear team
On 15th September 2025 I booked a car in Newtown and after I kept the car back I got a charge of 90 dollars because I left the keys in the ignition. Never in my life I have ever done that. I have told the team to prove it and they never got back to me. I know it's been a long time but I still haven't got a proper answer. I want to know how do you guys can prove that I kept the keys in the ignition and not any other problem with the vehicle.
Please look into this and let me know.
Regards,
Neelabjo Pal

They expect you to work for them for free when their tech fails. Extremely frustrated with the recent service. The fuel card in my pod failed, meaning I had to spend 1.5 hours of my own time troubleshooting, calling support, and paying out of pocket just to get the car moving. GoGet’s idea of 'compensation' was to give me a 1.5-hour extension, which sounds nice until you realise that time was entirely used up fixing their fuel card issue. I essentially paid GoGet for the privilege of acting as their unpaid fleet maintenance person. Support (Klein) has been evasive about a pro-rata refund, hiding behind 'policy' instead of acknowledging that I lost 1.5 hrs of my life working for Goget for free. Not the premium experience they advertise. Since Uber Carshare closed down, it feels like GoGet has stopped caring about member satisfaction. They have a market monopoly and it shows in their 'support', keeping your money even when their own equipment fails. They care more about their profit than members satisfaction.

Super easy to join, choose and pick up a car.
There were a lot of van options available to choose from. Rates were reasonable and there were no hidden charges. Will definitely rent again if I need a van or a car again.

My first hire, booked for 2 hours.
Total time used, 1hour &57 minutes.
Booked for 2hours:12amtill 2am.
Picked car up at 1217am returned to pod at 214am.
Charged over $90. $43 was for the 2 hour hire including k/s. $47 for the 14 minutes after the 2am at the servo.
I cancelled my account.
I'd rather walk.
Happy travels.

Agree with others here that the sign up is a huge complicated headache. We booked the car a week in advance, go to pick it up on the day and it's not there. It's not on any of the side streets. Customer service also couldn't find the car so they transferred the booking to another car (except it doesn't look like they did - I see another more expensive charge show up on my account). We walk 15 min in the sweltering heat and find no second car. Walked the whole street and more and still nothing. Called again and they can't find that one either. Cannot make this crap up! They want to transfer us to a third car but by now we're an hour and a half late so ask for a refund. I'm curious to see if both bookings get refunded and now I'm worried given the other reviews that I'll cop some parking fine for a car I never got to use. Definitely some scam going on.

Impossible to communicate with their offshore staff who in keeping with the great Aussie offshore tradition just relentlessly quote procedure and give platitudes rather than listening or digesting the issue.
As others on this site, goget just periodically steal money from my bank accounts, including the infamous $90 flat battery fee.
Advised that I have used goget for 5+years and never left a key in the ignition, was asked to 'prove' that I didn't, I asked them to prove that I did, they said they'd get back to me but a year later I'm still waiting.
Staff are rude, dismissive and impossible to communicate with

I needed transport for an upcoming appointment at a mechanical workshop. I became a member of GoGet and made a booking for a car. I received many email instructions as to what I need to do. After walking to the designated location no car in sight. I received a message to say my booking was cancelled just as I arrived. With this happening on my 1st booking I lost confidence in using GoGet and attempted to end my membership. GoGet will not allow me to end membership before 27/11/26.
I would much happier if GoGet ended my membership and deleted all my confidential details from there records

The concept and day to day use of the cars in practice is ok.
The communications and systems in this company are diabolical . I have had numerous dealings where I have been wrongly fined , had it all sorted and an apology only for literally an hour later the same fine being applied starting a very unwanted time wasting, frustrating process all over again . To quote Shakespeare “ there is something very rotten in the state of GoGet” this company has something very wrong at its core in my opinion and it also charges too much for the service as it has an unfair monopoly. I hope NSW fair trading are looking into them.

If I could give a minus 10 star review I would. They are a criminal organisation, avoid at all costs.
I was sent a parking fine, issued to the van I hired, three days after my booking.
I successfully proved to Whitehorse City Council that I was not in control or possession of the vehicle at the time of the offence.
Yet GoGet debits a $25 handling fee without my consent and then tries to debit the $198 parking fine.
Thankfully I was able to prevent them illegally taking that money from my account... but today I receive a threatening email from a debt collection company stating if I don't pay up, my credit rating could be affected.
I stopped trying to contact GoGet months ago, as they either have AI or someone in the Philippines respond. Sham company.

I went to pay an outstanding invoice from earlier today and found that GoGet has charged me 'additional fees' in retrospect without explanation.
This is not toll fees because I hadn't used a toll road, and if it was toll charges this would be itemised on the invoice.
How is a person with initials AA able to just make up random charges and invoice??
I have had some doozies with GoGet especially in the last 18 months or so. Prior to that, I honestly couldn't fault GoGet. I don't what happened that has contributed to the MASSIVE DECLINE in this company, but they should definitely be investigated by authorities. I have already reported them to Fair Trading twice.

GoGet is promoted as a safe, reliable, government-supported alternative to owning a car. But this experience honestly made me lose confidence in ride-share services altogether. It has me thinking that owning my own vehicle might be safer than relying on a service that provides poorly maintained cars, gives misleading information, and charges full price when things go wrong.

Cancelled my membership, two months later they charge me for another year. On repeated phone calls they say the charge doesn't show in their system (well, it shows on my credit card statement — why have they kept my details), so please send a screenshot of the transaction. I do that, several times. Still nothing. The tell you they will call you back, and email you back, and don't. Still waiting for the refund, although have seemingly been ghosted. Oh, and to make a complaint about the team at the admin@ email address, I'm told to send an email to that very address. Doesn't make one hopeful that this isn't an intentional scam.

Easy access to vehicle (via app for booking AND location of pod), reasonable costs in terms of rental and insurance, ability to amend booking as needed including cancelling if required, cheaper than using alternatives (ride-sharing services, for example).

easy to use, easy pick up drop off. simply manage from the app. extended via the app and had no issues. fuel was included but i had to fill up using the card. again super seamless easy process

We returned our GoGet car to the same location where we picked it up, only to be fined unexpectedly. The app failed to indicate clearly that we needed to return the car to a different spot. Additionally, when attempting to check available parking spots, the app failed to load properly. We tried to dispute the fine and explain what happened, but customer service was completely useless and didn't understand anything about how the app works. Terrible experience and awful app.

This was my first time using GoGet, and the process was straightforward. When I encountered an issue with the payment, their customer service was incredibly responsive and helpful. Overall, GoGet is a great option for my family—we enjoy using public transport for most of our travel, but it's perfect to rent a car once a week for longer trips with our kids.
