Amber is a smarter way of buying and selling energy that helps you save and puts you in control. For $25 a month, get direct access to smart tech and real-time wholesale electricity prices. Shift more of your energy usage to times when cheaper renewable energy is available, and then export your excess solar when the price you can get paid for it is highest.

Shocking customer support
Shocking customer support
I have left 3 messages for call back as no one ever takes your call unless you are looking to join
I was promised a free smart meter within 2-3 weeks of joining and have heard nothing from the Amber team in months
I just called customer support on the 1300 number at 3.55 EST time and received a message that I was calling outside the hours of 9-5pm

Only been with amber for one month Exported over 900 kws back to the grid and got absolutely nothing for it. Very disappointed.
we have constant mismatch on Amber…
we have constant mismatch on Amber smart shift
buying energy in energy spikes when our battery is 100% full
using grid power and locking the battery from even using for our home use
Tried Amber for a week and paid $53
Tried Amber for a week and paid $53. I understand the concept is that you’ll switch to battery self reliance when wholesale energy prices are high and then switch to grid when low. The thing is who has the time? It probably works well when you have a larger battery but with the membership fee of $25 I would sign up to another energy company that gives you free electricity instead. More set and forget and probably cheaper in the winter months when you need the grid more.

You call the number and an AI assistant… No Customer Service at all!!!
You call the number and an AI assistant answers the phone, useless. Amber never answer the phone ever. They say they will email you. And they text you and say they called you and they haven’t at all.
AND THEY DON’T HAVE A CREDIT CARD PAY OVER THE PHONE OPTION!
They NEVER ANSWER THERE PHONE!!
NON CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
NEED A MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT!
THIS IS 2026!
Been with Amber since August 2026
Been with Amber since August 2026. Previously with Origin. I am finding that compared to Origin it is costing me so much less to buy electricity and I am earning so much more in feed in Tariff(FIT). I moved when Origin doubled its connection fee and even though I now pay $25 per month to be a member of Amber after my feed in Tariff and my ability to power my house from solar and battery I am generally cost free for electricity. Thank you Amber
Great product
Great product, friendly and helpful customer service. I recommend Amber
Good for some but not for everyone
While I love Amber for their work on flexibility and am sure they are great for those with solar/batteries/EVs, as a simple electricity user I really cannot recommend them unfortunately.
Firstly, it took roughly six months to receive my first bill which meant I was charged for that whole period in one go.
And now, after moving out my apartment and requesting to close the account, they've passed through a $100 disconnection fee to the closing bill with no warning/communication of this (I had to go right to the end of the bill to even find out what this was).
It makes me sad to say but I've had better experiences with the big suppliers.
Retaining a star because the actual communication with customer service has been okay.
Extremely frustrated with my…
Extremely frustrated with my experience. I left Amber over seven months ago, and they still have my device hostage under their VPP control. Their support team has been entirely unhelpful, providing generic advice rather than taking responsibility for the lock they placed on my equipment. My device remains unusable for the settings I need because they failed to properly offboard my account. I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for a retailer that respects your ownership of your own solar equipment.
I have been disappointed with the way…
I have been disappointed with the way Amber has handled my queries regarding the vast difference in what I was told would be my average returns to what I actually received.
I have ample battery storage that is only utilised on average once a month and for short periods.
Completely misrepresented the returns saying we should not have a bill but we constantly do.
Customer Service is not up to standard
Customer Service is not up to standard. E.g., when I receive email comms from them, they used many tech jargons, e.g. VPP.
I received an email from tech support stating that they can't onboard my Tesla Powerwall 2 battery because
Tesla has informed Amber that the current Gateway Number that was submitted for enrolment was incorrect.
I've been an Amber customer since April 2024, why is this issue cropping up now? Why can't they work with Tesla to resolve the issue?
A fantastic company looking after their customers
A fantastic company looking after their customers. Easy transfer from former electric company Amber does it all for you. Cheaper charges now paying per month less than we paid a week with other company. Recommend highly to everyone. They let you know when power at its cheapest to reduce your charges even more.
Worst customer service experience ever
As an Amber customer of just over a year, it has been one stressful headache after another. Try call them when something goes wrong and you're fobbed off with an AI bot that can't be reasoned with and you get an email saying they'll email you within 2 business days. Meanwhile, i'm losing money and sleep because they can't be bothered to take my call.
AVOID AMBER AT ALL COSTS.
Absolutely awful customer service. Be prepared to bash your head against a brick wall. Not worth the stress. They will not live up to the hype of making you money.
Avoid Amber Electric
Avoid Amber Electric: A massive billing nightmare that risks your expensive hardware.
If you want predictable power bills and want to protect your home infrastructure, stay far away from Amber Electric. I just received a single bill that is completely record-breaking and unmanageable.Amber's entire business model is built on shifting 100% of the energy market risk onto your household budget . While they comfortably collect a flat monthly subscription fee, you are left completely exposed to extreme wholesale price spikes.
Even worse, on sunny days when the wholesale price drops below zero, they actually charge you money to export your own solar energy to the grid.Their "SmartShift" automation is an absolute failure. Because it relies on laggy cloud connections to talk to your hardware, it regularly misses high-paying export windows. Instead, glitches cause it to drain your battery prematurely or accidentally force your system to import maximum power from the grid right when prices are at their highest.
To top it off, the aggressive, high-frequency charging and discharging cycles that Amber puts your home battery through to chase market arbitrage causes severe, premature wear-and-tear on your expensive hardware.Amber is not a "set-and-forget" technology. It is an unpredictable, incredibly expensive gamble that can result in catastrophic bill shock. Save your money, protect your battery, and stick to a traditional fixed-rate plan or a stable VPP.
This compan does not honour its promises
This company does nit honour uts its promise to pay you a referral fee if $250 gor refereee and referee. They refused me when my friend miving in to s house i was moving out if be warned . They will n NOT pay you
New customer experience in the beginning application some how…
In the beginning application some how two accounts were joined to my account after letting amber team this had happened the team corrected the issue.
Which I was happy to see.
As far as connection to the VPP the system is working as I would expect.
Eg my battery and solar are now charging with no output to the grid until a positive return can be obtained.
The system is still learning the longer the connection is operating.
So I am happy with Amber thus far.
Regards Chris new customer.
So far so good!
Less than a week in, but so far so good. the process to connect was fast and efficient, less than 2 days. I had an account query related to CommBank voucher and was really wanting to speak to someone about it. I put in a ticket expecting a return in a few days, but I was pleasantly surprised by the initial AI response, which looked into my account and gave me the information I requested. This was followed up very quickly by another human response, to confirm the information. The app experience is really good and the responsiveness seems very fast with my Sigenergy system. Curtailment and exports are working really well and so far the Smartshift is doing the job I expect, which is so much easier than the native SIg app options. When I was AGL, I couldn't utilise the AI options in the Sig app due to buy/sell price being too small, now my system feels really dynamic and responsive. I am hoping it will continue to be interesting and worthwhile. I quite enjoy just keeping an eye on both the Sig and Amber apps as it is very different engagement scenario and the tech is interesting. I also integrated the pricing into Sig via the API key, makes the Sig app even better.
Amber as an electricity supplier is…
Amber as an electricity supplier is first rate. I recommend anyone who has solar, and in particular a battery to look at this service. For a flat management fee their system will help manage the effective use of your solar investment, with significant reductions in your electricity costs. Been using these guys for over 2 years now.
The best customer service team
Amber customer service never let me down with my queries. Very supportive staff/ team. They kept checking if my enquries/issues were completely solved. Great team @Amber.♥️
