I am currently selling my vehicle on carsales.com.au and was approached by a Cars24 representative who expressed interest in buying my car. The agent was very business-like on the phone and asked me to chase up and gather all the vehicle history documentation.
I went out of my way to do this. As soon as I had done the legwork and let them know, the representative completely ghosted me. No follow-up, no "no thank you, but I am not interested anymore" just total silence.
If Cars24 is going to actively scout third-party classified platforms and demand that private sellers spend their own time chasing documentation, the absolute bare minimum requirement is basic professional courtesy. To drop all communication without a word after making a seller do homework for them is incredibly rude and unprofessional. Buyers beware—don't waste your time gathering paperwork for them.

Car24 offered me a staggering $10,000 below the market price for my car. The bloke on the phone sounded so hesitant that he could barely say the figure out loud!

When I responded, “What?”, he immediately hung up. No explanation, no discussion—just ended the call.

I understand businesses need to make a profit, but an offer that low felt like a complete rip-off. Hanging up when a customer questions it is simply unprofessional.

Have posted a couple cars via Carsales and this company gives very low ball offers, first car was listed for 60k and they offer 40k (the car sold for 59k). Second car was listed for 47k and they offer 29k (car sold for 45k). Now another car currently listed for 20k get offered 9k. At first i thought okay that's a bit low ball but now happening another 2 times is a bit of a joke. feel sorry anyone accepting their ridiculous offers and i get it, you want a car gone you accept offers but this is just taking the piss. i was considering trading in the first car to a car dealer local to me that is a different brand and they offered 49k for my car saying "sorry but all we can offer for your car is 49k", hell even carsales instant offer was 53k. keeping in mind that all cars i sold were either the cheapest in my state or very close to the cheapest and still get these stupid offers. Absolute Scum.

Smooth service, hassle free, great experience

From the beginning cars24 try to get from me the lowest price. My car had 1 year old it was an MG5 and was with 9 years warranty left full serviced. We agreed om a price of 14000$ if drop the car from Adelaide to Melbourne. All written black and white in emails and and cars24 message and car fully inspected and papers checked. I drop the the car in Melbourne and then start the problems as they try they best to rediscuss the price while i spend 1 day trip from melbourne to adelaide. They didn't answers the phone and start to play a game between 3 cars 24 agent.... Ended to reduce 500$. It is a shame and i was with family and 2 kids... ridiculous

Update: The initial customer service experience was honestly pretty horrible. The phone support was frustrating, I was bounced around, promised callbacks that never happened, and the case manager I was initially dealing with was very difficult to get hold of.

That said, once the issue reached the dedicated Warranty & Aftercare email team, the experience completely changed.

Emma has been excellent to deal with. She responded quickly, actually followed the case through, communicated clearly, and got the repair approved without making the whole process any harder than it needed to be.

The repair itself is still waiting on parts from Subaru, so it isn’t fully completed yet, but the way the warranty team has handled it has been a massive improvement over the initial phone support experience.

I’ll update again once everything is finished, but credit where it’s due, Emma and the Warranty & Aftercare team have been great.
