5 months without my watch or refund — three faulty units and dismissive support
I purchased a Garmin epix Pro Gen 2 (47mm Sapphire, €800+). After the original watch failed, I've spent 5 months dealing with defective replacements and still don't have my money back.
Timeline:
• June 13, 2025: Sent original watch (stuck in reset loop, wouldn't boot)
• First replacement: Light button defect — rapid presses trigger factory reset
• Second replacement: Identical Light button issue
Dismissive support:
• First told "normal behavior," then "demo mode, not a defect"
• Promised to send the watch to Garmin for inspection
• Only tested internally, claimed "no defect found"
• Only agreed to actually send to Garmin after I mentioned escalating to Verbraucherzentrale and European Consumer Centre
• Garmin CZ confirmed this behavior is NOT normal
• I paid ~€40 in return shipping across multiple sends
Refund saga:
• Oct 13, 2025: Order cancelled, refund "within 7 days"
• Oct 29: Shop claims Oct 16 refund processed
• Oct 29: No refund received. I request documentation
• Nov 3: Shop says refund was declined by payment processor, investigating
• Nov 5, 2025: Still no refund
Summary:
So to recap: I bought an €800+ watch that broke. They sent me two more that were also broken. They dismissed my evidence until I threatened legal action. They promised to send it to Garmin, but didn't. When they finally cancelled the order, the refund mysteriously got "declined by the payment processor."
Five months and €40 in shipping later, I have neither a working watch nor my money.
Absolutely stellar customer service. Would not recommend.
