Shocking service for essential prescription glasses
If I could give Oakley zero stars, I would.
My prescription glasses developed a defective coating after only around 60 days. Oakley’s own optician confirmed that this was a warranty defect, yet resolving the issue has been an exhausting mess of misinformation, contradictory promises and unnecessary delays.
I was initially told by Kimberley that the issue could be resolved in store. I travelled to the Covent Garden branch, only to be told they could do nothing because the glasses had been purchased online. That incorrect information wasted my time and directly delayed the resolution.
After further chasing, Oakley confirmed in writing that my warranty claim had been approved and that a replacement would be sent before I needed to return the faulty glasses. I immediately provided the requested prescription, model information and delivery details.
Less than 24 hours later, Oakley completely reversed its position. I was told that a replacement was suddenly impossible because of a “system limitation”. Instead, I must return my glasses, wait for them to reach the distribution centre and then potentially wait another 15 business days for a refund.
These are prescription glasses, not a fashion accessory. I need them to see. Oakley expects me to surrender my essential glasses and remain visually impaired while waiting several weeks for my own money back, despite previously confirming that a replacement would be sent first.
To make matters worse, Oakley has also said it will not refund the express delivery charge. I paid for the prompt delivery of a usable product. Oakley supplied defective prescription glasses, so refusing to refund the full amount is disgraceful.
Their internal system limitations are not my responsibility. Neither are their contradictory communications, broken promises or slow internal processes.
For a supposedly premium eyewear brand, the product quality and customer service have been appalling. Oakley has shown absolutely no understanding of the seriousness of leaving someone without the prescription glasses they rely on for sight.
Defective glasses. Misleading information. A wasted journey. A confirmed replacement withdrawn within 24 hours. Weeks potentially left without suitable glasses. Shocking from start to finish.

🤔 Is this case supposed to close flush?
Is this case supposed to close flush? It doesn’t. There’s like a lip that hangs over the crease where it closes. I’ve had similar Oakley cases before and never seen that. Also, this weird shipping service that Oakley uses? Veho? Constantly texting me, asking for delivery instructions. Just deliver it to the address I provided! I finally give in and input & save the “instructions” and I still get the texts requesting delivery instructions. Oakley, stick with ups or FedEx.

Assault 2’s vs Assault 3’s
I’ve been in the military for going on 20 years now and I’ve worn both steel toes and non-steel toe boots. I’m usually a creature of habit but I decided to give these new assault 3’s a try after previously wearing several sets of assault 2’s. I thought that these would be an upgrade(which I knew it would be hard to beat the assault 2’s) man was I wrong! I would compare these next to the most uncomfortable steel toe boots I’ve ever worn. I read review that it takes about 2 weeks to break in but I’m going on 2 months and they don’t come close to the comfort of the assault 2’s. They need to fire whoever designed these if they are the replacement to the previous version! The assault 2’s felt like I was wearing sneakers, and could probably conduct my physical fitness test in them. These assault 3’s are super stiff, rub on the heel, and are just plain uncomfortable! If I could, I would take these back and replace them with the assault 2’s without even blinking an eye.

⚠️ BUYER BEWARE
⚠️ BUYER BEWARE: The truth about Oakley "Quality" ⚠️
Thinking of spending your hard-earned cash on @Oakley sunglasses? Read this first.
Unable to load photos but lens x2 delaminating.
My Half Jacket 2.0 frames are in absolutely A1, immaculate condition—not a single user scratch, always kept in a hard case. Yet, the polarized lenses have completely self-destructed, bubbling and peeling away due to a total material failure.
I’ve been a fiercely loyal customer, spending thousands of pounds with this brand over the years (including up to $600 on a single pair). But the one time I ask Oakley to stand behind their product, customer service hides behind a rigid 2-year warranty script and refuses to help.
Unacceptable for a premium brand trading on a reputation of "superior engineering." If you expect your expensive sunglasses to last, look elsewhere.
Instructions Break Helmet
This company lies about their product. The instructions and web description clearly state that the yoke has a 3 position height adjustment. However the helmet does not. I attempted to adjust the yoke height (following the instructions) and the yoke broke from the foam and left the helmet damaged and unusable. Either I received a defective helmet or Oakley is simply choosing to lie about the features the products that they sell have.
I was originally excited to see Oakley making a water sports helmet but this is disappointing, I recommend sticking with established water sports brands like Gath or Mystic.

Garbage Product
2nd pair of Meta Vanguard and the same defective left speaker issue. Clearly a design flaw. Don’t waste your money on these.

Be Careful When Buying Oakley Meta AI at Sunglass Hut & Oakley
On July 9, 2026, I purchased a pair of Oakley META AI sunglasses at a Sunglass Hut store in Ingolstadt Village. According to both Sunglass Hut and Oakley, I am entitled to a 30-day return policy. I contacted both Oakley and Sunglass Hut, and neither of them accepted this. They said there is no return guarantee. Even worse, Sunglass Hut gave me a 40% Discount—even though they're now offering a 50% discount to get me to buy something from them. I was simply ripped off by Sunglass Hut, not by Oakley. Be careful and don't believe what the ads say. You can even return the merchandise to AliExpress.
I’m having a lot of trouble with my meta glasses
I’m having a lot of trouble with my purchase of Oakley Meta glasses. I bought them in December 2025, yet I still haven't been able to use them properly. The first pair had issues, so they gave me a code to order a replacement at a 100% discount; I placed the order, but when the glasses arrived, they wouldn't even turn on—nothing worked. I filed a complaint and was asked to send the glasses in for a warranty claim. I shipped them on June 19th, and as of July 16th, I still haven't received any update. These are prescription glasses, so I had to buy a new pair just to drive and work; I paid over $700 and haven't been able to use them.

One week of use
After a week of use, these Prizm lenses have developed a blemish directly in the center of my field of vision on one side. All I've done is wear them normally and clean them with a water and a microfiber towel, nothing else and they're already ruined.
No returns, no exchanges. Just a defective product and me being out $90. The best customer service could offer me was a 30% discount to waste more money on a product I've lost confidence in. No thanks!

I love the glasses but I barely got them wet and they stopped working. They won’t even turn on. They even said you can submerge them in 1 m of water for 30 minutes in my glasses wasn’t even underwater this is stupid

Bad customer service website false advertises items out of stock
They sold me a pair of sunglasses which were out of stock i called about 5 times over the course of 14days the representatives know nothing until the 16th day told me my order was out of stock now i have to wait another 7 days for a refund this is very unprofessional they have a bunch of little kids working the phone lines

extremely poor communications and customer service, wouldn't or couldn't answer basic questions on chat, when I asked when a gift I had purchased for a birthday present would arrive if at all was promptly cut off - long time Oakley purchaser - not any more ! VV disappointed
Oakley sunglasses are the worst
I am 50yrs old & Oakley sunglasses have been hands-down the very worst customer service experience I have had to put up with. 40+ emails around a pair of faulty sunglasses: I was met with mixed messages, promises failed, dropped contact - after a month of fighting for my £ back, I have now blocked them as this affected my health
What an absolutely horrible experience
What an absolutely horrible experience. Turn my website can't checkout. Gives you error messages that don't mean anything, don't tell you anything about what to resolve, force you to go back through the entire checkout process multiple times.
Try to get support through their chatbot, and it is the most inane, insane, stupid thing. All of that, when I got all done, their answer was to call the 800 number. This is not a serious e-commerce company. Avoid at all costs.
This is the second pair of OAKLEY vanguards
This is the second pair of OAKLEY Vanguards that the audio took a dump on Me. My first pair was purchased in November of 2025 and I got a few months of use before one of the speakers went out. It’s been less than 30 days since the replacement pair has arrived and both speakers are not working. Their warranty department never responded to My warranty request so the after sales department gave Me a code to purchase another pair free of charge and those have failed. I really don’t know what to do at this point.
Weird Fit + Customer Support
The actual shopping experience was great - next day delivery, easy peasy.
The sunglasses are a very strange fit - they sit over my eyebrows, maybe it's cause the arms just kinda go around my head rather than behind my ears so they just 'ride up'? Who knows, first ever pair of oakleys.
Bought for a hiking trip, discovered that they don't work for me so hoped that customer support could show some grace for me to return 6 days after the 14 day mark (was away, couldn't return in time). Instead the conversation went like this:
- Please could I return still, I haven't worn and they are really not for me.
- Sorry, you're over of 14 days.
- But is there anything that could be done?
- You can have a voucher for your next purchase.
- Why would I buy another pair of oakleys if Im trying to return this pair?
- Sorry, nothing I can do. (Chat ended)
It could be I am used to good brands showing actual support even if that means going out of their way. But hey, maybe this delayed return would've ruined their established $2.1bn business (€28bn if you count the parent company).
First and last pair of oakleys.
Wrong order, damaged no consequences.
Received the wrong order with a damaged lens. They generously offered to allow me to return them and wait 3 weeks to get my money back. It appears Oakley likes to make errors and then the consumer deals with the consequences. It seems like that approach is serving them well considering their low score here.
Great looking pair of sunglasses but…
Tailwind - Great looking pair of sunglasses but also the cheapest feeling pair of Oakleys I've ever owned. The lenses are not secure and frequently fall out. The frames are quite flimsy. Im very disappointed in the quality of these glasses considering the price. After owning 20+ pairs of Oakleys over 25 years, this will be my last.
I bought the adult fit version of these....
I bought the adult fit and I was disappointed that it didnt look exactly like the photo's jade colour, but I missed the word "fade" lol.
Otherwise, they fit very well, as I have always liked Oakley Holbrook sunglasses.
