I I recently accumulated over 5,500…

I I recently accumulated over 5,500 reward points, and I was disappointed to learn that the reward system has been revised, resulting in the removal of all accumulated points. While I appreciate the acknowledgment of loyalty for customers with giving us reward points, it's ridiculous to spend over $5,000 on repairs and services, then to have them suddenly change their way of doing rewards and just simply take them all away without any compensation. It appears inconsistent and unbalanced. I would appreciate clarification regarding this policy adjustment and how long-term, high-value customers will be recognized moving forward.

Update:
They sent me a DM and asked for my info to see about resolving this and giving my points back. That person never contacted me again about this issue. I find it very disappointing and a lack of customer care. Still no rewards given back or any type of compensation.

Here it is:
Hi Robert,
We’re truly sorry to see your comment on our Meineke Rewards Program Facebook post, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
If you could please send us the email address associated with your Meineke Rewards account, we’d be happy to look into this and add the points back to your account.
We hope this resolution helps address your concerns, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Meineke at 3251 Hamilton Blvd

Meineke at 3251 Hamilton Blvd, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 worst place to get your car repaired. I went for a free repair estimate, ended up paying $172+ tax for just a regular check. I already told them what the problem was. It was the ABS related issue. They basically came back telling me the same thing. Don't go there. They will rob you for nothing.

Thanks, Miguel!

The brake light went out in my car and when I tried to change it, the bulb broke in my hand and the base stayed stuck. Pliers made sparks shoot out, my hand was already bleeding from the broken glass, so I was afraid to try anything more. Friend suggested Meinecke, where Miguel popped it out and replaced it for me. He was polite, friendly, and basically saved the day! Highly recommend!

We've bought a car a month ago and have had to have in shop twice. They kept it for several days and did not call us with updates. First time they had they said there was nothing wrong with it and had car trouble a few days later. Second time had it 5 days. We only had it back a few days and again having trouble with it. What gives!

Great service

I had my 30k services done and they did not disappoint. Jaz was wonderful to talk to about what I needed and expected. It had been a few years since I had been there because of my new car’s PPM. I am glad to be back as their service is great and pricing is reasonable.

Horrendous experience at Buckner, KY Meineke

I originally had a VERY detailed review written but am unable to post it due to its length so this is an EXTREMELY condensed version about a "Service Stabilitrack" warning on a 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and a horrendous experience with Meineke and service manager Zachary. I was charged a diagnostic fee, paid for an ABS control module and for it to be installed, paid again for programming that was supposed to be included in the original price and was admitted to by the service manager, Zachary and then found out that the diagnosis was wrong. I was then told “you have to pay again for another diagnostic fee to find the problem”. Why? I already paid for you to find the problem, you guessed and were wrong, you admitted that you screwed up and told me the wrong price for the part, expect me to fix your mistake by paying an additional programming fee, charge me AGAIN to find the problem and when I asked to see the replaced parts was told that you can’t show them to me because you "threw them away". While I would like to believe that Meineke wouldn’t engage in shady practices, why were additional fees stacked up again and again and why couldn’t the parts removed and replaced be produced?

I was offered 2 free oil changes for my displeasure but at this point don’t trust Zachary to touch any of my vehicles and will probably never redeem them.

Is this what is to be expected from a Meineke Car Care Center? How did a $2000-ish repair turn into an approximately $3300 repair? Will I even be contacted by someone other than Zachary at Meineke regarding this review and my terrible encounter? I would like to think that the answer to the last question is yes but only time will tell...If someone at a regional level contacts me, I would be more than happy to send them my detailed version. At this point, if I could leave less than a one-star rating, I certainly would.

BAD SERVICE

Took my Dodge Durango in for oil change my truck was not ticking before I dropped it off picked it up after the oil change and it's ticking took it back and they said it's a hemi tick it wasn't anything that they did to cause it. Even though it wasn't ticking when I dropped it off. Took my car for a front end alignment went back to pick it up and it's pulling more to the right now than it was before. This company switch people and now the service is horrible the tech act as if they don't even know what they're doing..I will never take my car's here again and we have been dealing with meineke for over 6 years. We have never had these problems the other guys were better at their jobs and did what they said they was going to do and we never had to take out cars back and forth because they didn't fix the issue the first time. Prices went up high but the quality of service went straight to hell.

The worst Customer Experience

This was by far one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I would not recommend this shop to anyone.

I brought my car in for a routine alignment. After they had my vehicle for the entire day, I received a call telling me that my car was in terrible shape, could not be aligned, and that the frame must have been damaged in a major accident. I was specifically advised to take it to a body shop to have the frame inspected and straightened.

I followed their advice and took my car to a body shop, where they put it on a frame machine and measured it. It turned out there was nothing wrong with the frame at all. The issue was simply a loose adjustment bolt. Would also like to note, that the mechanic in charge (Bobby) admitted that he didn't even work on the car because it was that bad...so nothing had been done at Meineke other than inspect it. They charge me $50 for putting "eyes on it" - No work at all.

I called the shop afterward to explain what had been found. The owner, John, offered to make things right by providing a free alignment the following morning. (need to also include, he was extremely rude over the phone but I figured, I'll just let this pass and take it the next day.) I returned the next day expecting the issue to be resolved professionally.

Instead, the situation became incredibly hostile. Rather than addressing what happened, I was argued with, called names, and ultimately threatened with having my “ass kicked.” The police were then called. Based on my interaction with the responding officers, this did not appear to be the first time they had dealt with a situation involving this shop. The cop literally went in to the shop and yelled at the owner because this apparently happens all the time with customers. Don't trust this shop!

What should have been a simple alignment turned into an unnecessary trip to a body shop, wasted time, and an extremely unpleasant confrontation. What concerns me most is the complete lack of accountability and the way I was treated when I returned after being invited back to have the situation corrected.

I strongly recommend taking your vehicle elsewhere. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. PS. Promise you that the owner will respond to this comment by stating I am a liar, a thief and a con artist - just like he does with the rest of his "lying" customers. SAVE YOUR TIME & MONEY!

DO NOT RECOMMEND

This is strictly for the Colerain Avenue location. (Why can't you give a place 0 minus stars?) We needed a muffler repair for a 2004 Subaru Legacy because the tail pipe rusted and fell off. We took it in on Monday, June 29th. The customer service and the reviews appeared to be very good so we were expecting good things going forward. All I can say is make sure you get in writing what they are quoting you (and record your conversations) and then think really long and hard about your decision before you trust their mechanics for muffler work, and probably any work. We did not get a quote in writing the first time--our fault--because we are used to dealing with honest, reputable car repair places (our 2 mechanics we relied on weren't available and one retired recently). We picked it up a few days later when they said it was good to go and obviously, the day we picked it up, it wasn't good to go. The whole car vibrated and was rumbly like it still had an exhaust leak - which was odd considering it had new muffler parts and it didn't do this before, so back to the shop it went. Few days later the guy called and said they didn't see anything wrong, but it was 2 quarts low on oil and that's why it vibrated. (Then they overfilled it an inch above the full line my hubby found when he was showing & telling our son to check the oil frequently!) I just found it extremely hard to believe that that was the issue. Seriously!? It still vibrated loudly so when our usual mechanic became available, we took it to him so he could lift it up and see why it was vibrating. They welded brackets onto the muffler parts to hang it up and had it welded and hung so high it vibrated the car and to top it off, they put a hanger on the left axle shaft and it ate away at the boot. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. He fixed their "work" so it finally quit vibrating and was relatively quiet, but it had a hole in the exhaust--mechanic, my son, myself felt it--where the shop supposedly fixed it. We decided not to deal with them again, but after me and hubby left reviews, the manager called us to see if they could "help" us make it right--which was unexpected. I absolutely refused to take it back to them, but because we paid so much money, my husband thought he'd give them one more chance and that resulted in an even worse fix. They called to say they couldn't find the leak so my husband told them to keep it until they did and then when they "fixed" it, we had no words to describe the work they did to fix it - and then it's actually not fixed. We went to the shop to talk it over with the manager to tell them about all the poor workmanship with the pictures we took, and he said some things that went against what we were told initially and asked what we expected from them. We wanted a refund, an apology, a whole new muffler system--anything-- to fix the problem, but all we got was excuses and was told he would talk to the owner and get back with us. In reality, the mechanic who looked at it and quoted us, should have said you need a whole new exhaust for this huge price or say it couldn't be repaired and we all would be much happier.

I went in for a quote to get several things repaired. The guy up front told me he can’t give quotes or tell me prices until I get vehicle serviced. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A COMPANY TO DO THAT! Justin was his name he was not trying to help me with anything just telling anyone I have dealt with before they all fired and it’s just him to talk to. I will pay more and take my vehicle somewhere rosy before I give them anymore money. And I have patroned This establishment before.

Customer Complaint

Customer Complaint – Meineke Car Care Center in Crestwood is a rip off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Meineke Car Care Center in Crestwood. I had been a loyal customer of Roberts Frame since 2005, and when Roberts Frame was in business, I always considered it a great, honest, and trustworthy repair shop. Unfortunately, my recent experience with Meineke was completely different.

I have approximately 18 years of experience in the automotive industry, including working as both an automotive technician and a service manager at a dealership. Because of my experience, I have a good understanding of automotive repairs, labor times, parts pricing, and diagnostic procedures.

I originally brought my 2005 Chevrolet Express 3500 to Meineke because the check-engine light was on and the vehicle had a misfire code. Before bringing the truck in, I had already told Mike, the service manager, that the truck had received a tune-up not that long ago.

Mike told me that the truck needed another tune-up and new spark-plug wires. When I brought the truck in for the tune-up, I specifically asked Mike whether the tune-up would take care of the check-engine light and the misfire problem. He told me that it would.

I was then given an estimate of $1,354.68 for a tune-up. When I reviewed the estimate, I noticed that Meineke was charging $44.50 per spark plug. For comparison, the same type of spark plugs were selling at AutoZone for approximately $13.50 each. I understand that a repair shop needs to make a profit on parts, but this pricing appeared extremely excessive.

Based on my 18 years of automotive experience, I also believed the labor time for replacing the spark plugs and wires on this vehicle should have been approximately 1.5 to 2.0 hours, depending on the circumstances.

I contacted Mike and expressed my concerns about the estimate and told him that I felt the customer was being overcharged. I also explained my automotive background and experience as a technician and service manager. During our discussion, Mike told me that the service writers were new employees and did not know how to properly charge for the work.

After our conversation, Mike reduced the estimate from $1,354.68 to $1,031.31.

However, when I picked up my truck after paying $1,031.31, the check-engine light was still on. The vehicle still had a misfire code. This was especially frustrating because I had specifically asked Mike beforehand whether the tune-up would resolve the check-engine light, and he had told me that it would.

I had already explained to Mike that the misfire could potentially be caused by something other than the spark plugs and wires, such as an ignition coil or an electrical problem. In my professional opinion, the tune-up was not necessarily going to fix the underlying problem without properly diagnosing the cause of the misfire first.

When I brought this issue to Mike's attention, instead of addressing my concerns, he walked away and told me to "deal with corporate."

I was charged $1,031.31, despite the fact that the original estimate was $1,354.68, and the truck was returned to me with the check-engine light still on and the same misfire problem.

I am extremely disappointed with the way this situation was handled. My biggest concern is not simply the amount I was charged. It is the fact that I specifically asked whether the recommended repair would resolve the check-engine light, was told that it would, paid more than $1,000 for the repair, and then received the vehicle back with the same problem.

I had been a customer of Roberts Frame since 2005 and had always had a very positive experience with them. They provided honest and reliable service, which is why I continued to trust the shop for so many years.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will never bring my truck back to Meineke Car Care Center in Crestwood. I hope corporate management takes this complaint seriously and reviews the estimate, parts pricing, labor charges, diagnostic process, and the way this situation was handled by the service manager. I told Mike I was stopping payment. Mike said Ok Deal with Corp!!!!!!!!!

Customers deserve honest estimates, proper diagnosis, reasonable pricing, and professional customer service. My experience did not meet those standards.

I had a nice experience in Fort Lauderdale location. Timothy Humphreys was polite, helpful, and pricing is truly reasonable and fair when it has been done properly. Timing was good and as promised. The service was done - locating and patching the deflated tire. A few cars were ahead of me. It took exactly 2 hrs as Timothy said and he said that the job was done properly and I do not have to worry about it anymore since my concern was that when the tire is patched, how long would it last for me in driving. I needed them to do things right and I was ensured that it was. If any problem, I will let you know but so far 5 stars ⭐️ well deserved.
