Baggage with LOT from Delhi

The flt in itself was ok, but the experience with ground staff and their fatty fatty manager Mr Sharma was terrible. They were weighing our baggage by the gram. If you were 1 kg extra in hand even, they were offering to check in your hand luggage even for 150€ … They weighed my bags 3 times, even at the entrance to the aircraft. It was a terrible experience with v rude ground staff, who give LOT a bad name. This happens only in Delhi & not elewhere on LOT flts. NEVER FLY LOT - v greedy & rude airline - terrible experience!

It was very cramped and uncomfortable

The staff was polite, but the aircraft we traveled in for 13 hours from Warsaw to Tokyo was unacceptable. Personal space is almost non-existent, and you suffer throughout the entire journey. Even for someone who is 1.67m tall and weighs 53kg, like me, there is barely enough room to fit comfortably. I would call it inhumane."

Lost my luggage

LOT unfortunately book their flights with very short connections which creates lots of stress rushing through Warsaw airport with awfully rude security staff. They also lost my luggage as they didn’t have time to put it onto my connecting flight, and ruined half of my trip as they then didn’t put it onto the next flight or even one the following day. Avoid this airline.

LOT is a LOT of trouble - Avoid at all costs

I decided to fly LOT Polish Airlines at a slightly higher cost, even though it had a layover, because it's a full-service airline, and my other option for those dates was a budget airline. I have never been more disappointed in an airline, and I've been flying for decades. My initial flight was delayed, causing me to miss my connection. Now, that happens. BUT, they had only given 40 minutes between landing and takeoff of the next flight, but assured me this was normal and I'd be fine. Of course, then a 15 minute delay meant I was NOT fine. I could have been okay with that, except then they put me on a flight that had ANOTHER layover to a small city in Poland, with another short layover (45 minutes.) I asked for the first non-stop flight to Istanbul that could be found...please. They said they'd do me the "favor" of this, and gave me what equated to $14 and some kiddie snacks to buy food now that I had to sit for eight hours. $14 isn't going very far in an airport! Still, I was okay with it. When I did finally get in, after 1am in the city I was supposed to have arrived in at 5pm, I found my bag had been tossed around terribly. Okay, it happens. I still didn't complain. It wasn't until I wanted to extend my stay by 1-2 days that LOT became an airline I will NEVER fly again. I found that my return leg had been cancelled! I'd been deemed a no show! Because they'd moved me to the nonstop flight but never put it in their system. AND they'd never contacted me to inform me that they'd cancellled my flight. Okay, thankfully I discovered this before trying to return! OMG. I was able to get that sorted, but it took 24 hours because they have limited response time on whatsapp, no live chat, and I cannot call their polish phone number when I'm in another country on my plan. Okay, so now I'd like to extend my trip a day or two. I cannot do this online apparently, since I've flown a leg...although I can easily do so on any other airline I've flown. I cannot get in touch with ANYONE to help because on messenger they "cannot provide new flight costs" and "cannot transfer me to a manager." I can only "fill out a form" via e-mail or call a Polish number (which I cannot do without an international calling plan which I don't have.) What year is this?? I fill out the form. I get a response that says I'll basically have to buy a new ticket (the cost is the same as if I just bought a new one) AND that price is not guaranteed AND they don't work 24/7 so if I reply there's no guarantee when I'll get a response so I should (once again) call the only number they have???? So, I'm literally just going to abandon this flight, book a new flight on a different airline for the same price they want to charge me to change mine (even though I can see there is little to no fare difference), and call it a day.....and the crazy thing? I was planning to fly them again this summer with an overnight in Poland to check out the country. NEVER again. I'll skip Poland!

I had one of the most frustrating trips with LOT

I had one of the most frustrating travel experiences with LOT Polish Airlines.

My flight from Almaty to Warsaw was delayed, causing me to miss my connecting flight to Chișinău, even though both flights were on the same booking. I was eventually rebooked and reached my destination around 8 hours later than originally scheduled.

Because of this delay, I missed my pre-booked bus home and had to buy another ticket at my own expense.

Unfortunately, the problems did not end there. My checked baggage did not arrive with me and remained missing for approximately one week.

When the baggage was finally located, I discovered that there was no delivery option available. I contacted the airport and explored alternative ways to collect it, including courier and transport services, but none were possible. The only solution was to travel to another country and collect my own suitcase in person, purchasing two more bus tickets solely because my baggage had not been delivered.

Throughout this process, I felt that the responsibility was simply passed from one party to another. LOT denied compensation for the long delay because the journey started outside the EU, while the baggage-related costs were left to another airline. As a passenger, however, this distinction makes little difference—the end result was an 8-hour delay, additional transportation costs, a week without my belongings, and significant time and stress.

I understand that airlines operate under legal regulations, but I expected far better customer care after such a chain of disruptions. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling that no one was prepared to take responsibility for the overall impact on the passenger.

I sincerely hope LOT improves the way it handles situations like this in the future.

How is this airline still alive?

How is this airline still alive?! I come to check reviews after 2 very bad experiences with LOT and I see their grade... not surprised at all.

In 2 flights I had more issues with them than I ever had in 20 years of flying.

From Tallinn to Warsaw our flight is a little late but we just have enough time to get our connection to Nice. Then we stay on the tarmac for 1 hour without any information. We are over 1 hr late in Nice and our baggage is missing (despite staying 1hr in Warsaw...). I get it the next day beginning of afternoon but that means almost a day of vacation is lost.

Flight back from Nice is late right away by 1h30 min. Despite that on the plane they tell us to go to the gate to catch our plane to Tallinn as... it's also late. We get to the gate and the plane is departed. We were 15-20 ppl they could have just waited 20 minutes more (AirBaltic does it all the time). No, they just left... worst company ever. It was my first and last time with them.

Update the next day: awful checkin time, staff not trained and very unpolite, takes almost 10 min on each passenger group to register luggage, oh and guess what they re late again. 1st flight of the day, how can you be 30 min late for no reason?? 4 flights, all late between 30 and 1h30 min...

Very good experience.

We are very surprised to see the number of negative reviews here.
We flew LOT a year ago from Paris to Szczecin via Warsaw and were very happy with the experience.
We therefore flew with them again over the same route in July 2026, this time in business class, and found it to be exceptionally good - fast and easy check-in at Paris CDG airport, a very good business lounge at the airport, good in-flight service and food, and a special transfer coach at Warsaw airport for business class passengers.
It is true that our luggage did not make it on time to be transferred to the second flight, but the staff at Szczecin airport was very accommodating and our suitcases were brought to us in a city 100 km away the next day.
In summary, a very enjoyable experience.

HORRIBLE airline

HORRIBLE airline. I arrived 3 hours before my flight. Waited in line 45 minutes, was told once I got to the front I needed a supervisor approval to move complete boarding , waited another 45 minutes. The counter employee called the police on me. I missed my flight . Stranded in Turkey (I am a USA citizen) had to pay over 1k for new flight - plus hotel. LOT denied giving me ANY compensation….AVOID THIS AIRLINE AT ALL COST.

Delayed flight and terrible “business” class

The first thing to know is: DO NOT BID for an upgrade to business class on European flights! We won ours and yes, we got to drop our checked bags off in a priority line, but the business class was only for the international portion of our flight, NOT for our connecting flight from Warsaw to Gdansk.

Next thing to know is that Lot only opens their check-in desk 2 hours before flights depart. All reputable airlines allow passengers to check in 3 hours prior to departure. This severely cut into our Istanbul airport priority pass lounge time. Not great! Then Lot did a last-minute gate change that had us running all over the place. And we boarded the plane from the tarmac, which meant climbing up stairs in a disorganized cattle call environment. So much for the “priority” business class boarding that we had paid for!

Our plane took off 45 minutes late, which meant we almost missed our connecting flight to Gdansk. Business class meal on the flight was nothing special. Our seats were the same width as economy and quite uncomfortable . Huh? Where is the value? I had also called Lot airline customer service prior to our flight. The incompetent phone representative said that we would not have to go through security or customs in Warsaw, as we were transit passengers. Completely wrong!!! Then to top it off, our checked bags didn’t make it to our final destination in Gdansk. They got stuck in Warsaw. Filed a missing bag claim at the Gdansk airport. I will say that the employees were very nice. I then entered my reference number on the Lot Airlines website to check the status, and it said “no record found”. What? On a positive note, the bags were successfully delivered to our hotel the following morning.

My wife and I will definitely be avoiding this subpar airline going forward!

Awful experience.

Awful experience. They left our bags in Warsaw on a transfer. They then failed to communicate with us about delivery. Gave us no help. Bags arrived over 48 hours later, completely damaged. I put in a claim for essential items and the damaged suitcases and they offered 50% of what they deemed the value of the suitcases, they offered £27.50. Shocking customer service and completely unresponsive.

Delayed bagage !!!

IA massive heatwave at WAW paralyzed ground operations because baggage handlers practically refused to work under the extreme tarmac temperatures, creating a huge backlog of over 1,000 bags. I am already on day 5 !!! with absolutely no sign of my baggage, proving their initial delivery estimates are completely wrong. On top of the luggage nightmare, LOT's aggressive algorithm deliberately splits up couples on the same reservation to force paid seat selection. The app shows the plane is 99% full with only one seat open, but this is just an IT trick because they block whole rows for the airport staff!!!

Avoid the Monday night flight fro Warsaw to Heathrow—always late!

Once again, the Monday evening 20:20 flight from Warsaw (WAW) to London Heathrow (LHR) is delayed. Just been notify on Lot app that will be once again late .This is not a one-off operational issue; it is a recurring pattern. LOT Polish Airlines consistently fails to keep this specific schedule on Mondays, clearly struggling with aircraft turnaround times by the end of the day. If you need to be back in London at a predicted time thus is notvthe one you can take .What is frustrating that is happening everytime I personaly fly which is every second week .

Medical Emergency Ignored

My mother was unable to take her flight due to a serious accident and subsequent hospitalisation. Despite providing information about the situation, LOT showed absolutely no flexibility or compassion.

We were told that the only available option was to follow the fare rules and accept a refund of taxes and fees, while the ticket itself was effectively lost. There was no meaningful support for what was clearly an exceptional medical emergency.

I understand that airlines have policies, but I am extremely disappointed that a national carrier could not offer any reasonable accommodation for a passenger who was literally in hospital after an accident. The customer service felt robotic and entirely focused on fare conditions rather than helping a customer facing a genuine emergency.

This experience has left me with the impression that if something unexpected and serious happens, LOT will simply hide behind its rules instead of treating passengers fairly. Very disappointing, will not be flying with them again.

On 20 June 2026 I was denied boarding…

On 20 June 2026 I was denied boarding on a LOT Polish Airlines flight from London Heathrow despite having a confirmed and paid Pet in Cabin reservation (PETC).

My dog had valid travel documentation and I arrived at the airport with the carrier used for travel. The decision was based on the opinion that the carrier was too small, however no written explanation was provided and no specific LOT requirement was identified at the airport.

I have submitted a formal complaint and requested a review of the decision, together with a refund of the unused flights and services.

I hope LOT will investigate this matter and provide a fair resolution.

Always late

I’ve have flown with LOT Polish Airlines a lot for work and not A SINGLE TIME have they been on time. They are always between 30 minutes and 90 minutes late. I don’t understand how an airline can be late 10/10 times.

The flight itself is fine and the cabin crew agreeable enough, but all the wasted time is doing my head in.
