The worst shop in Spain

It’s the shop with the worst service ever. I’ve made the order Nº2692195011064 14 of July and it should be delivered and installed Saturday, 18th of July. El Corte Ingles didn’t call, didn’t notify about any possible delays and hadn’t completed with their duties. I requested cancellation of the order and now they say that it will be completed in 14 working days.
Absolutely unacceptable service!

To Whom It May Concern: poor customer servicd

To Whom It May Concern:

I wanted to send feedback on an encounter I had with your personnel. To give context, I found myself needing additional luggage while on tour in Spain. In Córdoba (Monday), I purchased a LaTouche (I believe this is the store brand) carry on bag and tote set. When I packed my items in the luggage, the zipper split and I removed items to avoid this from happening. As you can imagine, my thoughts were that for new luggage, this should not occur. When I arrived in Costa del Sol yesterday (Tuesday), I took a taxi 30 minutes away to an El Corte Inglés store in Malaga as I read the return policy and wanted to return the carry on luggage. When I was directed to the luggage area in the store with my receipt in hand, the sales representative, tried the zipper and said it works and then said I could not return it. Then she got a blond haired woman (colleague or supervisor) who told me the same thing despite my insistence that the zipper had not worked when I packed my things in the luggage. She then proceeded to put shirts from the men’s display on the luggage to demonstrate it works. This absolutely confused me as this was not my experience when I used it and from my perspective was irrelevant to my complaint. My experience with the luggage had been different, I purchased this less than 24 hrs previously and I wanted to return the item. The blond haired woman then told me that it was not the stores policy to take items from another store. I said that was incorrect because I read the return policy. At this point there were female representatives and the security guard hovering over me at the counter. The Blond haired woman then told me that she needed the tags and thus could not use the warranty which did not cover the zippers anyway. Now I had the inside tags but not the ones on the outside which had the price stickers on it.
I left the area and went to the customer service area and explained my situation and felt the store needed better customer service and they should stand by their brand at the very least. A Manager was able to exchange the luggage for me.
I was very appreciative of his help and his respectful demeanor and wanted to point out, that was notable customer service, not being treated with suspicion and disrespect.

Do not order groceries from El Corte Ingles

I placed a very large order for groceries to be delivered the day I arrived with 6 people in Mallorca. I planned this with real detail and at the time of order was given a useless 9am - 3pm delivery window. I arranged for this huge window to be covered by others at the villa and of course by the time I arrived the food had not arrived. The night before I heard the PayPal payment hadn’t gone through. I did this again twice and could see that this was all fine and waiting for El Corte Ingles to complete on their side. So on the day of arrival we called at least 4 times and were told EACH time that it was being prepared and soon on its way. Not once did they call to say it wasn’t coming. Meanwhile I am stressed and trying to figure out what to do and how to feed all of the guests without the €700 of food I was relying on receiving from El Corte Ingles. If they had bothered to call and say it wasn’t coming I could have rallied the troops and done a huge shop at the local supermarket and NOT wasted the entire first day of my holiday stressed out and desperately trying to speak to customer service who in the end had no idea what was going on! Absolutely useless, a total let down and holiday spoiler. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT TRYING TO DESTRESS YOUR HOLIDAY BY ORDERING FROM EL CORTE INGLES. Complete disappointment!!!!!

AVOID

After purchasing 8 months ago a very expensive spring mattress it has sunk in the middle - this is totally unacceptable that a 1,200€ mattress should NOT do this.
Looking at their disgusting feedback I do not trust this business to solve my problem. Any help greatly appreciated to get this mattress replaced before legal proceedings start

Completely undeserving of the 1.2 star…

Completely undeserving of the 1.2 star rating. I have bought two major domestic appliances with them now and both have been incredible experiences. I bought one in store and this time tried online. There is always someone on hand to help although admittedly for the customer service chat online levels and expertise could be improved. Also, they kept closing the chat, but don’t know if it was a technical issue. However, they were so helpful, delivered a perfect product and have a generous guarantee period. Nowhere is perfect but this shop really is a cut above the rest. I will try to buy all of my things from here from now on.

Absolute incompetent company for online sales. Cancelled order as missed promised delivery date got confirmation only to find out they hadn't cancelled order at all. How they're still in business is beyond belief! Do not go near online sales platform nightmare company.

They will resell faulty items to the next customer

I purchased the Bellissima Steam Ritual hair tool from El Corte Inglés. It arrived faulty - powered on once, two lights flashed, no buttons responded, and it never produced any steam. I followed the instructions, watched tutorials, and gave it over an hour. It simply did not work.

I reported the fault immediately and followed their return process to the letter. The return was formally accepted, and I sent the item back via Correos within days.

Ten days later, I received an email informing me that the item is 'not suitable for resale' because it was returned 'used and dirty.' Can you imagine: a brand new tool, used once in an attempt to make it function, returned within days - and their response is to call it dirty?

But the most frustrating part: their own email confirms they intended to put this item back on the shelf. A faulty product. One that does not work. They were apparently planning to resell it to another customer. That says everything you need to know about this business.

Instead of issuing a refund, they are now threatening to send the item back to me and charge me €7.90 in postage fees for the privilege. I have sent multiple emails to their customer care team. I am being ignored.

I am €100 out of pocket. I have no refund, no working product, and no response.

Awful online experience

Awful online experience. I had to call them every week to remind them of my refund which took 2 months to come through.
Not to mention that they came back to me 4 weeks earlier saying that part of the product was missing.
As you see it's a cheeky excuse to avoid giving me the refund!
Never shop online guys!

Requested a 512GB iMac but received a 256GB model – El Corte Inglés Marbella

Very disappointing experience at the Apple counter inside El Corte Inglés.
When purchasing an iMac, I clearly showed the salesperson the exact model I wanted, which had 512GB of storage.
However, the salesperson ended up selling me a different model with only 256GB of storage. The purchase receipt did not specify the storage capacity, and at no point during the sale was I informed that the product being sold was not the 512GB model I had requested.
I only discovered the issue after opening the box and setting up the computer, when I checked the storage information.
When I returned to the store and requested to exchange the product for the correct 512GB model while paying the price difference, the store refused to provide a solution and did not attempt to verify the situation with the salesperson.
Customers trust the advice of sales staff when purchasing expensive electronics. Experiences like this seriously damage customer trust in El Corte Inglés.

6 months on, and customer service non existent

I bought a vacuum cleaner from El Corte ingles online in January 2025. It broke in early September 2025.
El Corte Ingles told me to contact Hoover, the manufacturer. In October Hoover agreed to send me a repair part, but it was not delivered.
Six months on, (March 2026) after many, many fruitless emails and telephone calls to El Corte Ingles, i still have not had a refund.
I will never buy anything from El Corte Ingles again. Hipercor supermarket, yes, but ElCorte ingles, no!

Excellent Service in Apple Department

On Saturday we went to El Corte Ingles in Marbella to purchase and Apple watch as they had it on offer. We were served straight away and the gentleman was excellent. He asked the right questions and made me realise that for 4 years I had Cellular and really didn´t need it. Not only is the watch way more expensive, you have to pay for a multi-sim every month. Not only that, when you purchase Apple through El Corte Ingles, you have 1 year with Apple and El Corte gives you another 2 years. Obviously, many things won't be covered, but this is still better than just one year. So I purchased a watch saving 70€ on Apple prices. Removed my multi-sim, saving nearly 100€ a year, and have 2 extra years of warranty.

Not only this, but the Apple store in Marbella is so busy and so hard to talk to anyone. For years we have always puchased at Apple but from now on will go to El Corte Ingles for the calm, quiet service and the warranty. I think the gentleman's name was Adriel.

One Month Wait, Wrong Item, No Accountability

I placed an €80 order online during a promotional sale. Unfortunately, the delivery date was postponed multiple times, and the item was only shipped a month later—after the sale had ended. When it finally arrived, it was the wrong product, even though my original order confirmation clearly showed the correct item.
I contacted customer service to request a replacement, but I was then informed that the item was out of stock. After waiting an entire month, I was disappointed to be told there was nothing they could do. No alternative solution, refund clarification, or goodwill gesture was offered beyond acknowledging that the situation was “unfortunate.”
Delays can happen, and mistakes can happen—but what was most frustrating was the lack of accountability and proactive customer support. I hope the company improves its communication, inventory accuracy, and customer service response process so future customers do not have a similar experience.

Don't order online from El Corte Ingles

I've been trying to order some crockery online. El Corte Ingles gave me an expected delivery date then the transpirt company gave me a "maximum" delivery date for the following day. Nothing arrived so I called at the transport hub, to be told that one of the packages had not been delivered and to contact ECI. I did that and was told it would be sorted and I should expect a delivery soon. Then 5 days later I received an emaul from ECI saying the order was cancelled without any explanation. This is the second time this has happened so I would advise people not to order anything from ECI online.
