Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 856 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently complain about severe delivery delays, noting that parcels are constantly misrouted, sent across the country unnecessarily, or lost entirely before reaching their final destination. Consumers also shared frustrating experiences regarding customer support, stating that phone lines are extremely difficult to navigate and representatives are frequently unhelpful or rude. Though some individuals encountered poor service, a small group of reviewers were happy with exceptional local staff members who went out of their way to solve mailing problems. Post Office lost a month of mail

I put a hold on my mail for the month of August at the Interbay post office in Tampa Florida (33611) and got an email confirmation with confirmed re-delivery of the held mail on the 29th of August. On the 27th of August I received an email confirming the upcoming end of my hold and the re-delivery on August 29th. I returned home on August 30 and the mail wasn't there. I had numerous conversations (both in person & on the phone) and made formal service requests to find out where my missing mail is. I was finally told that the their best guess is that the local post office probably never let the mail carrier know about the hold and once my mailbox was full, the carrier was required to 'return to sender' all the mail that had accumulated. Therefore, I won't ever get my August mail back and there's basically nothing I can do about it.

An order was sent on 8/30 from NY & supposed to be delivered to me 9/4; as/of today (9/5) no delivery info is available b/c it appears that the item is lost. I compare it to something sent via FedEx: it left Lithuania on Mon. 8/31 & was delivered to my home on Fl., USA on Thursday 9/3. The Post Office is unreliable.

Makes me appreciate Amazon.

Whether it be a complete lack of transparency through shipping updates, the inability to deliver a package same day from a post office half a mile down the road, or not 1, not 2, but sometimes 3 missed delivery windows that THEY provide, I consistently abhor the wait on any package shipped through USPS.

Certified mail was supposed to be…

Certified mail was supposed to be delivered yesterday. No. Today? The mal lady entered "address not accessable" in the *system although she filled my inbox with junk mail and everyone elses (over 100 people). Was in my Apt. Could have rang the buzzer. Could have called but text/email alerts never updated for three days. She is lazy and lied, period.
USPS used to be my go to... now they are just full of excuses.

I wish I could give negative stars

I wish I could give negative stars. Not only has USPS lost some of my wedding invitations (including one to my son who is walking me down the aisle), but they've lost RSVP's as well. These are not items that were mailed across the country; some of these were supposed to go to people who live in the same city as I. No surprise that this is a government agency, given our atrocious government currently. DeJoy needs to go ASAP!

…Busted: Master Transit Logs Prove UPS Intercepted Package & Published False Tracking Statuses

United Parcel Service (UPS) has been caught red-handed falsifying commercial transit logs and executing unauthorized intercepts on behalf of corporate clients.
UPS actively manipulated public tracking records regarding shipment #1ZA976V82923109979 to cover up an improper return to the sender) Likewize/Boost Mobile).
The master carrier audit trail reveals the exact timeline of events:

Pre-Planned Intercept Without Recipient Consent: On August 27, 2026, at 4:46 A.M. in Baltimore, MD—hours before any delivery attempt or business operating hours—UPS logged an internal system command: "The package will be returned to the sender." I never authorized or signed for this return.
Falsified "Lost Package" Statuses: On August 29, 2026, while actively transporting the package back to Kentucky, UPS updated public tracking portals to state "Lost package investigation," misrepresenting to mediators and regulators that the shipment had vanished.

Physical Dock Receipt Signed by "GRAY": Master carrier logs for Return Tracking #1ZA976V81223109974 confirm the package was delivered and signed for at the Louisville, KY dock by "GRAY" on August 31, 2026, at 12:21 P.M./ Invalid "Ghost" Tracking Generation: Following consumer inquiries, a replacement tracking label (#1ZA976V82923113660) was generated, which returns an active "INVALID TRACKING NUMBER" error on official UPS tracking portals. Deceptive Public Portal Entries: On August 31, 2026, at 9:10 P.M., UPS published a new public status: "Investigation Opened — We've begun an investigation to locate the package," directly contradicting their own system records proving dock drop-off hours earlier.

All timestamped screenshots, DIAD signature audit disputes, and master logs.

Poor service

Poor service. They do what they want to do with your mail, or packages. Have had mail that I had to sign for not delivered to my door with a bogus ticket left in my mailbox saying sorry they missed me to deliver my mail when I was home. Very important documents LOST and I had go back and to call the companies to have it resent. Such a hassle. 😡 Treat others and their stuff as you would like yobe treated

It's truly mind boggling just how…

It's truly mind boggling just how poorly run and poorly staffed the US postal system is. Probably due to not hiring the best because low pay, but that's a whole different conversation.

Tell me why or how it happens that a package from California finally lands in Brooklyn, but instead of moving to Queens for delivery, winds up in Arizona 6 days later?

People, you need to do your jobs. Be mindful when scanning and reading labels. Double check things. Don't rush or cut corners because you're lazy and don't care. If you don't care about your job, then just leave and free up the space for someone who desperately wants to work and earn money.

How much time is wasted, gas spent, man hours used, for a package circulating the country as if on a carousel?

Get. It. Together.

Priority mail mailed on 20 August

Priority mail mailed on 20 August. supposed to be delivered Monday 24th of August. Started in Hastings, Minnesota then to Saint Paul Minnesota went to Ybor city, Florida to Fort Myers Florida back up to Ybor it’s done this back-and-forth trip to these two cities now five times called and put a complaint in then delivered to Cape Coral back to Fort Myers and back up to Ybor.
Starting to think that United States post office needs to be checked for who they’re hiring people who can’t read can’t do their job. Pay for priority mail and this is the shit you get crappy ass service.

Some USPS offices will not accept US cash for transactions.

At the end of 2025 I went into the 5th Street and Liberty PO in Ann Arbor, MI to mail an item. The cost was $19 and a few cents. I gave the clerk a $20 bill and was told "We don't accept cash here." Attempts to complain about it have all been met with the excuse that they don't take large bills. But the reality is that they are lying. The proof is in plain sight at the Post Office as THEY HAVE ELIMINATED ALL OF THE CASH REGISTERS. It is an outrage that the US PoStal Service does not accept US tender for services. How is this even legal?

My package took a vacation across the country

Constantly sending my mail/packages across the United States before making it to mailbox. Had mail coming that was super important, schedule based repair I was making. What does USPS do? Part was coming from Idaho to New Mexico. Basically two states away. They sent it to the Dallas Texas facility, then to a facility in Vermont, back to Texas, then to Boulder Colorado and finally to Albuquerque. From there, it took another 3 days to get from Albuquerque to the Tijeras post office. We’re right outside the city limits. Total time for a package to make it from Idaho Falls to Tijeras , 24 days on a tracking # that said it would arrive in 2 . The USPS is staffed by a bunch of inept, water brained sloths who hate their jobs and take it out on the public.

Absolutely terrible experience with…

Absolutely terrible experience with USPS. My package was marked as DELIVERED, but I could not find it anywhere. Naturally, I was extremely worried that it had been delivered to the wrong address, lost, or stolen.

What made the situation even more frustrating was that I spent almost an hour trying to get through the automated system just to speak with an actual human being. When I finally reached a representative, I was told that USPS sometimes scans packages as delivered before they are actually delivered.

Excuse me, WHAT?! Then why mark a package as delivered if it has not been delivered yet? Seeing that status caused me unnecessary anxiety and panic because I believed my package was missing.

The tracking information should be accurate, and customers should not have to spend an hour fighting with a robot just to get a simple answer from a real person. This entire experience was incredibly frustrating, stressful, and unacceptable. USPS seriously needs to improve both its tracking accuracy and its customer service.

I shipped an item

I shipped an item, that was bought from me, the buyer just recived an envelope with the label, I went to my postoffice and opened a case, and they denied it. It’s 2026 and they should have better tracking, communication between postoffice to find the lost items. It’s ridiculous. I feel like other shipping services are more reliable, I’ll be using fedex, ups instead from now on.
