Other than hardware which is based on iOS nothing else is good. If you're looking this POS for your Liquor store then I would say don't even think of buying this crap. Its good for a coffee shop, small clothing store, any business which have 100-200 SKU's. Customer service was good until I informed the sales rep about my business needs about the liquor store is very specific and it has to be in macro details. This POS miss out on many things such as on startup it would not ask you who is logging in (if you have multiple employees) It will not ask you what's the cash drawer opening balance for today. Adding an item is a headache specially if you have 1 item which has multiple variations for example Modelo beer 30 pack, 24 pack, 12 pack, 6 pack or singles. upon adding an item it doesnt give you a Distributor Code which is very important for a liquor store to have. Theres no such thing where you can view the past invoices and add invoices upon receiving the delivery. The sales rep upon signing up showed a different transaction rates and later when i figured it out it was way above what he promised. This POS doesnt even have live push notifications on the app most of the other Liquor POS have this feature which gives the owner peace of mine. For example if the product was added to cart and the employee deletes it then why was it deleted what was the reason? this pos doesn't have any such thing. The main screen is kind of small since its actually an ipad and the customer facing screen is also the same too small. I would not recommend this POS until they reach their mark with other liquor POS have to offer. Good Luck to Square and its sales team.
They do payments, but the new AI tools that are coming out and the new changes, have made Square my personal operating system for my business. There are new features each week, and when I compared my processing rates, if I had to pay for all of the marketing and tools, I would be paying more to use someone like stripe. Very happy now since 2017.

It's been 18 days since Square took $1,600 from my active Minnesota LLC (MN File 1656113300037, formed 07/09/2026) for alleged debt of a separate Oregon ABN (1432682-90, inactive since 08-04-2022) and closed my account.
I sent government docs 3x: MN Certificate of Organization, IRS EIN confirmation letter, and Oregon SOS registry. Square Recovery said I "only sent docs for 1 business" and demanded Articles of Incorporation for an ABN - which don't exist under Oregon law.
Square Recovery gave me a 45-day runaround. CFPB forced a response in 15 days.
If Square is holding your money and asking for impossible documents: File at consumerfinance.gov - complaint portal. Search "Square, Inc." It took 10 minutes. My case is CFPB #260828-37665675 filed 08/28/2026. Also file your state AG.
I will update when funds are returned. please consider another card processing company. They look good on the surface but once you have an issue trying to get your money it’s a long waiting game. You don’t get to talk to a live person they send you through AI. and you go through endless emails. Very frustrating.
Customer service kept transferring me at least 6 times so far and still didn't fix my issue

We have been working with Square for almost a year now. And we are very please with how helpful this experience has been, growing our business. Staff has been very helpful and supportive throughout this entire experience.
We are diffidently looking forward to continually working with them, throughout our Journey.
Quick response time, helpful information.
Thank you, for all you have done throughout this process.

The app is impossible to navigate through at times. Chat is zero help and if someone files a bogus dispute even tho you have iron clad evidence they will wipe your account and hold your money for up to 3 months. I literally have a letter from the persons bank who was disputing my business stating it was a mistake and cancelled. I'm going on my 3rd week with no resolution. It's ridiculous.

We had an account closure due to multiple transactions, one after another, which perfect sense. The replay provided was satisfactory and expeditiously handled. Would recommend to small businesses and vendor services.

Great customer service! Quick and thorough response to my questions and my issues were easily resolved. It's rare to get this level of customer service.

square deactivated my business account out of nowhere with zero explanation. They send an email promising to release my held funds on August 24, 2026, but that date has passed and they still haven't transferred my money. Customer support is non existent once they lock you out. They are literally holding my money hostage. Avoid them at all costs

Do not trust these five star reviews they are not real. I have just sold my business. I’ve been told that I cannot transfer my website which cost me $3000 to the new owner which means I now need to compensate the new owner $3000 so that they can build their own website I will be recommending they do not use Square I will be $6000 down because of Square and their inability to transfer a website from one account to the other. Every time I call I get someone who’s English is incredibly difficult to understand. I get passed around to as many different people as possible. I am still waiting for them to transfer the gift card information which is now been five days. Square is a disgusting company that pretends to be on the side of small business but has absolutely no interest in helping them other than sending call centers who’s employees read scripts with very very strong accents that are almost impossible to understand. If you are reading this do not use Square! You will thank me in the long run for this advice

Square is actively withholding my hard earned money with absolutely zero legal or contractual justification.
After deactivating my account, they forced me to wait out their mandatory holding period to cover potential chargebacks. I compiled, waited patiently, and finally received an official email from square stating that the witholding period had expired and that my funds were cleared to transfer.
However, when i went to withdraw my balance, the funds were still completely suspended.
It has now been well past the time they legally and contractually agreed to release my money. Keeping a business's funds after your own self imposed holding period has ended is predatory and unacceptable.

Though I would've preferred to have a live call, the Chat Messaging worked very well. They answered my questions and even gave guidelines and tips. I'm very satisfied.

1 Star — Avoid Square
Square closed my account without giving me a clear reason. I had zero chargebacks and zero disputes, yet they decided to hold my funds for 30 days.
What made the situation even more frustrating was that they said the funds were released on Saturday, but because it was the weekend, I was told I had to wait until the next business day to actually receive them.
This experience has been extremely frustrating and has made me lose trust in Square. Businesses depend on reliable access to their money. I strongly recommend considering other payment processors before using Square.

Hey Square your new update sucks. I don’t know who had the bright idea to leave a tip before running customers card. Please change it back to tipping after running the card. It’s costing us tips by forcing them to pre tip

It is really hard to get any sort of support or help from square. I have been trying to deal with an issue with receiving my funds for a week now and I have not been able to speak with a human .

I’m extremely disappointed with how Square handled my new business account.
I opened the account for my legitimate IT services business and cooperated with every verification request they sent me. I provided my government ID, EIN documentation, California LLC documents, reseller permit, business information, invoices, public business profiles, and linked my business bank account. I even offered to provide additional invoices and my City of Oakland business license.
After all of that, Square restricted and then closed my account while there were still business funds involved.
What makes this even more frustrating is that their representatives keep telling me that Square supposedly sent me emails regarding the account and the review process. I have repeatedly explained that I DID NOT receive those emails. I checked my inbox and spam, and I am being told about communications that never reached me.
Instead of clearly telling me what the actual concern was or what specific documentation was missing, I kept getting additional verification requests even after submitting substantial proof that this is a real business.
I have been self-employed providing IT and technology services and recently formed Low-IP, LLC to formalize and grow the business. Before Square, many customers paid by cash or Zelle. I was trying to move to professional card processing, automated invoicing, and recurring memberships.
I understand that payment processors have compliance and fraud-prevention requirements. What I do not understand is closing a legitimate business account after the owner fully cooperates, while providing little explanation and repeatedly referring to emails the customer says were never received.
I am requesting that Square properly review this situation, explain exactly why the account was closed, provide proof or records of the emails they claim were sent, and promptly resolve any funds still being held.
