Lack of Clarity from Qudo Beauty
Honestly, I’m very disappointed with my experience with Qudo Beauty.
The biggest issue for me is the lack of transparency around customs fees. Their website did not make it clear that orders over €150 could be subject to significant customs charges, and I have now been hit with over £279.26 in customs fees. Had this information been clearly communicated at checkout, I would have seriously reconsidered placing the order.
The delivery experience was also extremely frustrating. My order took over two weeks to arrive, and although it was nicely packaged, I then had the additional hassle of having to clear the parcel through DHL because Qudo Beauty had apparently not provided the courier with an invoice. When I contacted them about this, I was told they had experienced an influx of orders during that period reason why the item was delayed and they didn't send the courier the invoice.
I completely understand that businesses can have busy periods, but that doesn't make the experience any less frustrating for the customer. What was particularly disappointing was the lack of any meaningful gesture of goodwill or compensation for the inconvenience — not even a small discount off a future order or any other suggestion to help the bad experience
I placed my order based on the positive experiences and recommendations I had seen from previous customers, so I genuinely expected a much better experience. Unfortunately, between the unexpected customs costs, delivery delay and the issues with DHL, this has been a very disappointing experience from start to finish.
I would strongly recommend checking the potential customs charges and additional costs before ordering, particularly if you're placing a larger order. Personally, I'll be thinking twice before ordering from Qudo Beauty again.

We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify several points in your review for the benefit of other customers reading it.
First, import VAT, customs duties and clearance charges for deliveries outside the European Union are clearly explained on our Shipping Information page. UK orders are shipped from Romania under DAP (Delivered at Place) terms, meaning that any import VAT, customs duties or clearance charges imposed in the destination country are payable by the recipient. These charges are collected by the courier/customs authorities and are not fees charged or received by Qudo Beauty.
Regarding the €150 threshold mentioned in your review, this would not have provided an alternative in this case. Qudo Beauty is a B2B wholesaler and our minimum order value is €300, therefore an order below €150 cannot be placed through our wholesale store.
We would also like to correct the statement that DHL had to contact you because we failed to provide an invoice. A commercial invoice was provided to DHL electronically as part of the shipment documentation when the shipping label was generated. For UK imports, DHL may still contact the consignee directly to request or reconfirm importer-specific information such as the company name, VAT number or EORI number as part of the customs clearance process. This does not mean that the commercial invoice was missing.
Regarding the delivery time, as we explained to you directly by email, we were experiencing an unusually high volume of orders during that period. Your order was processed and dispatched within 4 business days, compared with our usual processing time of approximately 1–2 business days. We acknowledged this delay and apologised for it.
Throughout the situation, we also responded promptly to your emails and explained the applicable shipping terms, customs procedure and import charges. When there appeared to be uncertainty regarding what remained unanswered, we specifically asked you to identify the question or issue you felt had not been addressed so that we could assist further.
We understand that an unexpected import bill of £279.26 is frustrating. However, these are UK import charges assessed on goods entering the UK, not additional or hidden charges imposed by Qudo Beauty. For this reason, unfortunately, we cannot reimburse customs duties, import VAT or clearance charges paid to third parties.
We appreciate the feedback regarding the overall experience and will always look for ways to make information even more visible. At the same time, we believe it is important to clarify that the applicable DAP terms and the customer's responsibility for import duties, VAT and customs charges for non-EU deliveries were available on our website before the order was placed.
