I like Preply a lot, there’s a couple of drawbacks
I like Preply a lot. The interface when your meeting with your tutor is easy to use (but see scheduling below). There’s lots of people to teach you the language of your choice, at all price levels, at all skill levels.
I am taking one star back for two reasons: first of all, it’s always badgering you to take more lessons. I get that that’s what they’re doing, I get that’s how they make money, but it’s annoying. Secondly, how you schedule lessons with your tutor has not been easy for me to manage. You buy packages, you have to use it in a certain amount of time, it’s overly complex, and hard to understand.

Preply has very unprofessional tutor they misbehave waste time and misleading people.
I would mention jawad k tutor name he is from Pakistan teaching German. His video was ai generated and talked very disrespectfully, he has no knowledge about german. I wasted my money and time there.very disappointed from preply app how they allow such type of scammers.

Great... but one niggle to fix
I love the concept and generally it works very well. One real niggle though is the way that there is no accrual of lessons. As well as monthly lessons I added in a whole lot (about 24) to use casually as and when time permitted. Unbeknownst to me they simply get 'pooled' with your monthly lessons (which expire monthly), and they are not distinguished so you can't choose which to allocate. Would easily give this a 5 if they fixed this annoying niggle. A cynical view is that it is simply a cash grab monthly of customers money - otherwise why not let their lessons accrue if they aren't used...? Found the customer service to be good and responsive.

Took me a while but was worth it
Honestly it took me a while to find a tutor that I liked and was reliable. I guess your experience depends a lot on the tutor and their style. And when I did it was a game changer. I have weekly lessons, I look forward to them and I enjoy it. Millions times more effective than duo lingo.
The platform itself is great. Easy to navigate, loads of useful functions to help learning and tips. Customer service function is also great. Would give this 10 stars out of 5!

Find Your New Career
Traveling abroad in SE Asia, this platform changed my life. I originally came to Preply in desperation for income while abroad, it's now transformed my life into a fruitful endeavor abroad. I will NEVER need to go crawling back to the life of advertising sales I intentionally left behind in the USA. Not only am I a Preply tutor, I'm also a student. Learning Southern Vietnamese can't be done through most outlets as they teach Northern Vietnamese. If you use Google Translate, it's Northern Vietnamese. It takes a REAL person who understands what is actually proper dialect to communicate.
In addition, the CS team at Preply has been the most wonderful resource for me as a communication coach.
I'm a HUGE fan of the platform on both the "tutor" and "student" side.

In general good service, easy to follow the schedule and my tutor is very professional. The time limit to use the lessons should be extended because it's not worthy to buy more lessons if you know they might be lost in one month if you don't use them.
