I wasn't sure whether to buy a new car or stick with what I'd always done and buy second-hand. I'd never bought a brand-new car before, so I had plenty to think about.
When I visited Eric Stead in Ecclesfield, I was greeted by Simon. Right from the start, I made it clear that he might not make a sale that day. I explained exactly what I was looking for, and Simon quickly matched my needs without any pressure whatsoever.
The whole process was stress-free. Simon worked through all the options and figures while I enjoyed a complimentary coffee. Before long, I was test-driving an MG4 Urban, a brand-new model that had only recently been released.
Even though he didn't know whether I would buy a car, Simon took the time to explain everything in detail, including the service plan, which covers servicing and the first MOT, along with the excellent seven-year warranty. He answered all my questions thoroughly and honestly.
After giving it some serious thought, I realised that buying new was the best option for me, and I decided to go ahead with the purchase.
From that point on, Simon kept me informed every step of the way, right up to collection day. When I collected the car, he once again took the time to explain everything clearly before I signed any paperwork. He even came out to the car with me and showed me how all the dashboard displays and controls worked, making sure I was completely comfortable before driving away.
The icing on the cake was the free teddy bear that comes with your new car!
I can honestly say that Eric Stead in Ecclesfield has provided the best customer service I've ever experienced when buying a vehicle. A huge thank you to Simon for making what could have been a daunting experience so easy and enjoyable. I would highly recommend both Simon and Eric Stead to anyone looking for a new car.

I had an excellent experience buying my new MG S5 from Eric Stead, and a huge part of that was thanks to Daniel. From the very beginning he was friendly, professional and genuinely helpful without ever being pushy. Buying a new car can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially moving to an EV for the first time, but Daniel made the whole process smooth and stress-free.

He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of my questions patiently and kept me updated throughout. Nothing felt rushed and I always felt like a valued customer rather than just another sale. Collection day was brilliant too – the car was presented beautifully and Daniel made sure I was comfortable with all of the features before leaving.

I absolutely love my MG S5 and the customer service I received has been fantastic from start to finish. My daughter loved visiting the showroom too and we were always made to feel really welcome. Daniel is a real credit to Eric Stead and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend both him and the dealership to anyone considering an MG.

My relatively new Cyberster broke down at the weekend.
I phoned Eric Stead. They reminded me I had AA cover with MG.
The AA took the car to Eric Stead on a Sunday where it was stored securely. On the Monday Eric Stead rang to see if The AA had given us a hire car and arranged for the AA to be deliver a car to our house. I was kept fully aware of the progress, my car was repaired. We then drove to the garage left our hire car and collect our cleaned car. All covered by the warranty and MG car insurance

I have had a few problems with my MG5 EV, hole in floor, through the mats, damaged my display unit but they wanted money up front, no delivery date, since the car is obsolete, they stopped making the car in 2025, poor service from China, old parts fitted

Wonderful family company, always have a warm welcome, staff always seem to recognise you on arrival. Service was exceptional, very well explained, they were never pushing for a sale, and completion could not have gone any smoother.

Collected our new MG3 yesterday. Never had such a relaxed experience from a car dealer. Never forced into buying extras. We dealt with Daniel Neve, which was a pleasure. Felt like we'd been friends for years. He lives close by and has offered to collect car and take it in when first service due and bring it back. Great family dealership.

Picked up my new MGZS a few days ago dealt with Simon from start to finish, first went to look at a ZS around 12 months old but luckily Simon advised us that the new MGZS was coming out soon so opted for the new model and Simon even picked out a registration number for me that looks like a private plate,I believe that the advice given about the service plan was great so if you are looking at the new MG range contact Simon

Everything has been very good from the day we arrived without an appointment to look at a car to the day we collected the car.
Good opening hours. Car arrived quickly and we were kept up to date. Arranged last minute paint protection. Explained the car well. Explained all payment options.
Daniel went above and beyond what could be expected

Friendly, supportive team that always go the extra mile. Car serviced and minor, but probably expensive niggle fixed FOC under warranty. Looked after very well by Julie, Chris & Paul. Thanks all.

Great experience in a nutshell, Chris from the outset was honest and transparent, he offered us a very fair price for our trade in, unlike most other dealers we visited. We really liked the way we were treated, a real sense of service that can only be experienced at a family run dealership. The hand over was very easy, Chris was so helpful, doing things for us that we normally would have to do. We signed up for the MG service plan knowing the 50 minute drive to Eric Stead from home will be worth it, our car and us will be in very caring and capable hands that we can trust.
