Last week I contacted MetLife to find out where I could get dental care. Great Expression was among the providers my insurance company recommended. I tried calling Great Expression to schedule an appointment, but I couldn't get through. I managed to schedule an appointment online. They sent me a confirmation for today, Saturday, September 5, at 127 E Main St #131, Middletown, NY 10940, but they didn't tell me the time. I kept calling, and when someone answered, I was put on hold for an hour. Finally, a woman answered and told me the website wasn't working properly. She offered me appointments for 2027. Since I already had an appointment scheduled online for Saturday morning and needed priority care, I arrived at 8:30 a.m. There was already a woman with her daughter waiting since 8:00 a.m. for a follow-up appointment that had been scheduled directly at the clinic. So saying the problem is with the website is no longer a valid explanation. The woman told me that another patient also had an 8:00 a.m. appointment and got tired of waiting. I waited until 10:20 a.m., and no one came to open the door or answer the phone. I left a voicemail that remains unanswered. During those almost two hours of waiting, more clients arrived and left upon finding the door locked, and others were still waiting in their cars when I left. It is outrageous that, after paying for insurance for eight months, when you need a priority appointment, you receive such poor service at the center you most recommend within your network. I work full-time, so they can only schedule appointments for me on Saturdays or weekdays after 5:30 p.m., when my workday ends. I expect a prompt solution.
