Retroactive insurance
Hi,
I found reviews very interesting. I am from Pakistan and enrolled in university since winter 2025. However, due to visa delays, I am going to join university in semester 2026. I came to know from university that one needs to be insured from the date of enrollment even if he is not in Germany. I am planing to buy care concept but worried if they can provide the health insurance documents that start from October 2025, not from April 2026 i.e., provide retroactive insurance, such that my gap gets covered? And if there is an option to pay for previous months once student arrives Germany?

I thought with moving to new insurance company problems with care concept are over , but not. It’s been 2 months I’m waiting for a paper from than to activate my extra tooth insurance. Calling, mailing. Nothing helps. I can’t visit a tooth doctor because of this. Horrible!
Unfortunately the company dont care about insured persons at all. Hot line is useless. Wherever you call them you l got different answers for the same question. Once I called and the person even told me that Im not insured by them. Great! Moving from student contract to after graduation one took more than 2 months. At one point I had no more energy to communicate with this company anymore and went to a social worker, who was surprised and angry all the time he tried to get any information from them. Cause its was not really possible. Also few times my invoices was not fully covered, even it was test prescribed by ma haus doctor. At my hausarzt praxis everyone was shocked when I showed that the blood test will not be covered even I had a tarif with 100 pr coverage. And the reason was absolutely absurd. Which noone in praxis could understand. So all my experience is just a lot of nervous and I m happy to move to different company.

They don't care about new customers
I applied for a Care Concept Blocked Account. They said they would open the account within one business day, but it has now been three days and they haven’t responded to any of my emails. On top of that, their email address doesn’t seem to work. I receive an automatic message saying the address is invalid.

They charged me for an insurance service I didn’t use, even though I canceled it on the same day, and they’re not refunding it. It’s definitely fraud.

I experienced the most ridiculous…
I experienced the most ridiculous corporate service of my life with this company. The company operates with insufficient staff. They cannot keep up with customers. When they cannot complete a simple policy extension within two working days, they respond by saying that things move slowly in Germany and you should be prepared for it to take two to three weeks.
For the first time in the past decade, I have encountered such a delay with the travel health insurance I have repeatedly purchased in four different countries.

Unfortunately, everything is fine, except that when I tried to change my public insurance to Care Expatriate, I found that the service isn't compliant with German insurance regulations regarding permanent private insurance.

I subscribed to the Economy Care insurance plan for my Schengen visa application for Germany (family reunification). Unfortunately, this type of insurance was not accepted by the German consulate. I contacted Concept Care to explain the situation and request a refund. Their customer service was very responsive, both via chat and email, and the refund was processed quickly and smoothly.

I had insurance for visa purposes and, unfortunately, I broke a leg but was fully compensated. once you have the correct invoices, the compensation arrives quickly. i also had another state mandatory insurance and they let me to terminate the contract prematurely and refunded the unused amount, which is beyond exceptional.
