I was backpacking for a few months and needed something flexible and budget friendly. Genki offered just that. Thankfully I didn't have any serious medical situations, but when I did need to go to the... See more

EFFECTIVE
To be honest, I had a problem with my kidney, and this insurance covered all the doctors controls, ultrasound, and also the farmacy.
The Claim Reimbursement were fast, no more than 10 days,
I would recommend this to a friend.
Wonderful experience
Wonderful experience, luckily I didn’t have to use health insurance during my travels abroad, but if I needed to use it, I know they would be in my corner
My emergency claim was denied
I had an acute fall and severe dizziness, vomiting, and chest pain. I had just been traveling in the US during my covered 7-day window. I went straight to an urgent care clinic, where the attending physician ran immediate diagnostic tests to evaluate the fall. An EKG was ordered to check my heart and acute lab work.
Genki covered my sprained ankle from the fall, but refused to pay the remaining $1,369.02 for the diagnostic tests, claiming it was routine or pre-existing.
I provided a formal letter from the supervising doctor explicitly confirming that the EKG and labs were acute, medically necessary to evaluate my condition, and unrelated to any prior medical history.
In their final rejection email, they admitted in writing that my visit was within the 7-day window, that my symptoms were acute, and that the tests were medically indicated. However, they still denied payment by claiming that having acute symptoms and medically necessary testing does not qualify as a "Medical Emergency" under their policy definition.
If you collapse, experience chest pain, and a doctor runs urgent tests on the spot to rule out life-threatening cardiac or metabolic issues, their position is that ruling out the emergency is not covered. I have reached a formal deadlock with their claims team and had to escalate the entire dispute to the Liechtenstein Insurance Ombudsman.
Not only that, I had to chase multiple times for responses and was not replied to for 9 days after providing the requested evidence, and it's been nearly a month of battling since I first made the claim.
As a successful travel blogger and digital nomad, I would not recommend Genki to my community of followers or friends and family. To go in thinking your medical visit will be covered and find out it's not is really just not ok!
Absolute scammers
Absolute scammers
Even with their premium scam plan, they will pay for small expenses abroad or at home, but when it goes to an unexpected medical condition, they will absolutely avoid paying by deferring to the public health insurance. Basically they probably pay only if the local public health does not treat the condition, which means you are somewhere you cannot properly be treated, so you fly back and then they don’t pay. It’s a travel insurance that scams you into paying as a private health insurance. AVOID ABSOLUTELY
Absolutely delighted with Genki!
I discovered Genki through ChatGPT and had never heard of it before. What a great find! It’s a fantastic and affordable way to have health insurance while travelling.
The sign-up process was straightforward, the insurance certificates were available immediately, and whenever I had a question, the support team responded very quickly and was extremely friendly and helpful.
So far, I’m really impressed and very happy that I discovered Genki. Highly recommended!
Quick and easy USA upgrade
Been with Genki since 2024 on and off.
This year have been with them for 6 months and was very easy to upgrade to USA for part of the trip via what's app.
Very professional and quick
Thx Isaac

Unfortunately I had to use the insurance bc I got viral infection while in Albania and I was super worried about everything and Genki was awesome! It was everything very smooth, they are super fast when I needed help I super recommend!
Very unreliable insurance.
Very unreliable insurance.
Genki/Squarelife previously approved and reimbursed my medically prescribed therapeutic massage. Now they refuse the same treatment, claiming massage is excluded.
Same insurance, same treatment — different decision. And unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated case: I have to fight for practically every reimbursement.
You simply can’t rely on this insurance when you actually need it

This is the best health insurance…
This is the best health insurance company I’ve come across. I was very unlucky on my holiday and ended up in hospital. I initially had to pay upfront at this hospital, but Genki reimbursed me already after a week. Can totally recommend it :)
Reimbursement paid out in 2 days
You buy insurance hoping you'll never use it, but still you are not sure if you'll get paid out if you do use it. Fortunately, I made the right decision in Genki! I received the full amount of my claim (minus the deductible) within 48h, and the payment link was incredibly easy to use, money was in my bank account in seconds. The only feedback is to support other currency payouts (not just EUR) as your customer base is global!
Best insurance for Vietnam
Best insurance for Vietnam! I did extensive research and this was the only company I could find that covers riding pillion on a motorbike above 100cc, which is necessary for the likes of the ha giang loop! Also super easy to cancel, will be using Genki again in future
Genki is truely amazing!
I was comparing so many insurance companies before my Asia trip, and almost at the last minute I found Genki. Their website was incredibly easy to navigate, and within a few minutes everything was clear, so I signed up for Genki Traveler.
Unfortunately, just a few days later, I had a scooter accident in Bali and ended up at an international hospital, where I needed a small surgery on my arm.
Genki supported me almost immediately and fully covered my medical expenses. Beyond the reimbursement, what mattered most was genuinely feeling backed and supported while being far away from home.
If you're traveling in Asia and looking for travel health insurance, I highly recommend Genki. Hopefully you'll never need to use it — stay safe! 🙏

Amazing experience with Genki
Amazing experience with Genki. My friend was hospitalised in Vietnam during our backpacking trip, Genki were easily contactable and worked alongside us during the stressful time. Our entire hospital trip was covered by this insurance. I’ve nothing but good things to say about this insurance.
I feel secure being covered by Genki
I have been super happy with Genki Traveller. I've made 2 claims, one of which involved a minor surgery and several appointments for tests etc. In both cases they reimbursed me in full, claims were processed within 2 weeks with no back and forth needed. I feel secure being covered by Genki. It's a good deal as well.
Easy on the fly travel insurance
Easy to find. Easy website. Process was quick and easy. Cancellation was easy. Just all in all pleasant experience.
