Worst of the worst....
I would not recommend this company to ANYONE! The only way they would receive five stars is if you were rating them on their incompetence and stupidity! They are located in Arizona, so they obviously are not familiar with the location of towing and roadside services in other states. Their average wait time to provide assistance is anywhere from 2 to 10 hours. On one occasions, I was within 1 minute of a garage/towing facility; literally sitting along a highway looking at a tow truck in the garage parking lot, yet Agero called a provider from 3 hours away. After 5 hours and 4 phone calls, the tow truck arrived. I have had Nationwide insurance for MANY YEARS, and they are well aware of the issues with Agero, yet they choose to contract with this company. My association with Nationwide will be ending on Monday. 😡
Horrific experience
Horrific experience, as with most of the other customers who have used Agero. In a nutshell I had a flat tire and it took them about 4 hours to come out. FOUR HOURS. Thankfully a nice family let me stay at their house until help arrived, at almost MIDNIGHT. Customer service was just as horrible. How does this company get away with such consistent poor service, and why does my insurance company USAA still use them? May God help the customer who is in a life or death situation while waiting on Agero. They should be studied. NIGHTMARE.
Wish I could give -0 stars
Wish I could give -0 stars. I don’t know how they’re still in business. Absolutely the worst company I’ve had to deal with. Please save yourself money, time, and suffering.
BEWARE! THEY TELL YOU PROFANITIES AND STEAL YOUR MONEY!
My rate for these people is MINUS 1. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY TOOK MY MONEY AND NEVER CAME TO HELP ME, ON TOP OF THAT THEIR ASSOCIATE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HELP ME TEXTED ME MESSAGES WITH PROFANITIES. WHAT KIND OF A COMPANY IS THIS? I HAVE SCREENSHOTS TO PROVE WHAT I'M SAYING. AFTER ALMOST 4 HOUR WAIT I HAD TO CALL THE FIRE FIGHTERS TO COME TO MY RESCUE. PLEASE NEVER CALL THESE PEOPLE FOR ANYTHING! THEY ROBBED ME.
Agero is a towing service provider damage my car
Agero is a towing service provider for Progressive, and they towed my car and caused damage that appears to be beyond repair. The dealer provided an estimate of approximately $6,500 to repair and replace the damaged parts.
Agero denied my claim, stating that the car was already damaged before the tow. They specifically claimed that the tire was resting on the fender and had pushed the fender upward, causing the separation.
However, the pictures taken before and after the tow clearly show that the fender was in good condition before the tow and was badly damaged afterward because they dragged the car up and down the truck bed.
Agero told me to file a claim with Progressive, but I am hesitant to do so because of the deductible and the possibility of having an insurance claim on my record.
Stay away of this company or insurance associates with them. Good luck contact their claim specialists, always go to voicemail and take long time for them to call back.
Customer service sucks
Customer service sucks. Some of the representatives have horrible attitudes. They also don’t pay attention to your request. Meaning if you specifically tell them you want a flatbed truck only or that you need a tire change after reaching your destination they will not put these in the notes for the tow truck company. Also the wait time for tow truck is horrendous as each time I needed to Tow. I waited at least two hours.
As a tow provider…
As someone who is a tow provider for Agero, I can give an insider’s perspective on how unbelievably disgusting this company is. First of all, the reason youll wait many hours for a tow company is because Agero simply doesn’t pay them nearly enough. Tow companies have about a 60-80% to lose money taking a dispatch from Agero. This past year, I’ve had a net loss taking calls from them. They WILL not reimburse for anything even if you’re lucky enough to talk to a competent person. They also don’t reimburse for long distance GOA calls, meaning if you send a driver 2 hours away and the vehicle is no longer there, Agero WILL NOT let you know and they will give you $20… for a tow that cost the company around $120 just to send a driver and pay for gas.
Unfortunately they have somehow made a killing at the expense of its providers and customers by hiding behind company names such as USAA, state farm, progressive to name a few.
Three claim calls 8:45pm-2am - one flat
Here is the revised version with those details added:
I am filing a complaint regarding roadside assistance provided through Agero for my USAA claim on July 15–16, 2026.
I requested assistance for a flat tire on my Audi Q5 at approximately 8:45 p.m. on July 15. I was given an estimated arrival time of 37–80 minutes, but the technician did not arrive until approximately two and a half hours later.
When he arrived, he claimed my inflatable spare tire had been deflated incorrectly and could not be used. He did not attempt to inflate or install it and told me to request a tow truck. However, the mechanics at Discount Tire later confirmed they could install the same spare without incident. In the end, I chose to have them install a new tire instead.
I called Agero again and requested a tow. After waiting, I called for an update and was told Pop-A-Lock was on the way, even though my vehicle was not locked and I had requested a tow truck. That incorrect request had to be canceled, and a third service request was submitted.
A tow truck eventually arrived. The final driver was professional, courteous, and helpful. He transported my vehicle to Discount Tire and took me home nearby. My complaint is not about him.
I arrived home close to 2:00 a.m., more than five hours after my original request. This so-called “emergency” roadside service lasted longer than my flight and continued well into the next day.
I am requesting an investigation into the excessive delays, the first technician’s incorrect assessment and failure to assist, and the incorrect Pop-A-Lock dispatch. I also request appropriate compensation and a written response.

USAA Claim
Agero tow for an accident
Progressive used Agero to tow my car after an accident. My car went PAST the repair shop, was delivered to a semi-truck yard on a Friday, moved to another semi-truck yard mid-Saturday and then delivered back to the repair shop on Monday with way more damage than the accident caused. They even ripped out the muffler (the accident was passenger side impact only). With all of the horrible reviews, it's shocking that this company is still in business.

They lost my Mercedes Benz key that I just replaced for 1200 and told me they were going to investigate. Two weeks later they tell me their not going to replace it. I’m pissed! This company is trash.
This is one of the most exploitative…
This is one of the most exploitative companies for its partners and service providers—a company that pays its providers a mere $40 per vehicle while charging clients nearly $200. On top of that, whenever you submit a request for additional charges, they reject it; and if you press the issue too hard, they block you or place your account on hold. It is the worst company to work for; it oppresses and steamrolls every small business it deals with. The smaller the company, the harder they make things for you. It is a disgrace to work with this company and to witness how ruthless they are toward the people who work tirelessly day in and day out—risking their lives on the highway at night—yet are valued absolutely not one bit.
Horrible, representative Toni is ineffectual.
Horrible. Over a 6 hour wait for a tow this past friday. Battery in my car was working prior to the tow. When auto repair went to start it, battery dead. Agero rep Toni called today only because I called again this past Monday and Wednesday night. Toni have ineffectual "apology", refused to refund my $164 for the tow. Do not use this company.
⚠️ WARNING⚠️ DO NOT USE AGERO TOWING…
⚠️ WARNING⚠️ DO NOT USE AGERO TOWING COMPANY My car was stolen. Agero was scheduled to pick up my car from the pound several times after my car was found to put it in the collision shop. They never showed up. On different occasions I was told that the tow company would be there in 15 minutes, they were on their way, they would be there in 45 minutes. These were all lies that they told me. They would never show up. 5 days have passed and my car is still sitting at the pound. When you ask them what happened or why they didnt pick it up, they have no excuse why. They just give you another false time that they would be there. Save yourself the headache and please use someone else. This company is not reliable and they will leave you hanging.
Agero will rip you off!
Discovered my car battery was dead finally after 13 years on 4/13. Progressive sent Agero locally here in or near Redmond, WA. Waited a very long time for someone to arrive but that was a minor thing. (When he finally did show up, it was a guy, not in a truck, but in a very old, very beaten up car.) What REALLY pis*ed me off was discovering, one week later, that the person who had shown up had made two illicit charges using my credit card number on 4/20 and 4/21. The second charge on 4/21 was flagged by my bank and that's how I discovered it as well as the lower charge that was not flagged on the previous day. I KNOW it was this person for 2 reasons: 1) I'd not used the card I charged the service to for at least one month and had a zero balance at the time. 2) The only other charge I made using that card was the same day of the jump on 4/13 at O'Reilly's to buy a new battery. I KNOW it was NOT the person at the store who waited on me and installed the battery for me. Why run the risk of getting fired over something like that? It couldn't have been him. It had to be the creep who took forever to show up on the 13th. If you need roadside assistance because it isn't part of your auto policy and your insurer wants to send someone from Agero, tell the insurance rep to use another company!
“Nationwide threw me aside”
Apparently my “Nationwide is on my side” towing coverage has been contracted, without my knowledge, to Agero. In 35 years I’ve had two mechanical breakdowns. The first, about 15-20 years ago, was handled professionally and promptly by Nationwide when I called them from the roadside. They were on my side, I was happy. This occurrence automatically flipped me to this Agero company. I couldn’t speak with Nationwide even though I called them (my worthless agent was not available). I had no idea. I was told a Rollback would get me within the hour. Okay, that’s service. Except it didn’t happen. Then the second hour passed and I started calling and texting. Each time I was told my service had been “escalated” and I would be contacted by the tower, with a time. Each time nothing happened. I spent five hours on the roadside, in the heat as the vehicle (a/c) could not be run. I called (18) times. I finally got picked up by a reputable towing company after my last profanity laced call when Agero finally cancelled the “original” towing company and contacted a reputable one.
This was a horrible, horrible experience. Nationwide should be ashamed and needs to dump this outfit, now.
