Duncan and Felicia did listen to my request for only health care coverage during my 2 week trip to Canada so that most of the offers for insurance listed were not truly relevant to my needs. It turns out that most Medicare insurance in the US already covers urgent and emergent health care in Canada since my wife and I have different Medicare policies. So it was a bit surprising that they were not aware that their insurance was a duplication of our own insurance. We take the blame for not investigating further on our end but they should have been informative on their end. Laslo Kolta

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We would like to clarify one important point for travelers who may read this review: most Medicare coverage does not automatically provide comprehensive urgent and emergency medical coverage in Canada or other countries.
Original Medicare generally does not cover medical care outside the U.S., except in a few very limited circumstances. Some Medicare Advantage plans may include limited international emergency benefits. Certain Medigap plans may provide a foreign travel emergency benefit; however, that benefit can have many stipulations and a lifetime maximum limit. That limit can be quickly exhausted in the event of a serious medical emergency abroad.
These limitations are precisely why we recommend travel medical insurance with higher medical benefit limits for international travel. The goal isn't to duplicate adequate existing coverage, but to help protect travelers from potentially significant medical expenses that their Medicare, Medicare Advantage, or Medigap coverage may not pay.
