This review has been overdue for so…
This review has been overdue for so long. Being very busy stopped me from writing this review long ago. I called Mr. Rooter plumbing service to do a rooting service in my unit. The guy did a decent job and for that reason I called them back to do an estimate to replace my old bathtub plumbing system. They sent me the estimate and I requested to do the service later on, after 2-3 months approximately.
When the time came, I called the company to let them know they needed to be there in the unit first hour in the morning (8:00-8:30) due to the fact that the building needed to shut off the water for the entire floor. Mr. Greg, the plumber, came 3 hours later than the scheduled time. I was very frustrated because the job could not be done due to lack of time. So for that reason, the job was rescheduled for another day. After that incident ,I was worried and I requested to do a review over the things needed to be done in the unit, reviewing the estimate and the scope of work. For my surprise, the plumber replied to me that he did not need to go over the scope and mentioned I did not need to be over his back. I was so shocked by his response. He definitely crossed the line being so disrespectful and rude. I called the company and complained about it. Even though the clerk apologized and discounted $100 off from the total balance, that did not end there.
The plumber completed the job partially. No reviewing the estimate and the scope of work took a toll. The clerk suggested that another plumber come by and see what he could do about it. The second plumber did not come prepared with tools or equipment. The company charged me an extra $100 for his parking that day. Something they did not do before when they came for estimates and jobs. I felt powerless and frustrated with the whole situation.
Nobody should be disrespected and treated the way they did to me.
Even if I wanted to stop the job, there was a lot of time invested in, so I felt stuck with this company.
I always believe that the negative reviews, even if they are fewer than the positives, are more important to pay attention to.
Hopefully, nobody goes through the same experience I did. I will be very satisfied if I reach this goal through this review.
Connor from Mr. Rooter
Connor from Mr. Rooter was absolutely fantastic. After having a basement flood, I was understandably concerned about what might be going on with my sewer line. Connor came out and performed a thorough camera inspection, and from start to finish he was professional, knowledgeable, patient, and extremely helpful.
He took the time to explain what he was seeing during the inspection, answered all of my questions, and made sure I understood the condition of the sewer line and what, if anything, needed to be addressed. I really appreciated how carefully he did his work and how clearly he communicated everything.
Dealing with a basement flood is stressful enough, and having someone like Connor who is reliable, courteous, and clearly takes pride in his work made a big difference. He went above and beyond to make sure I felt informed and comfortable with the situation.
I would highly recommend Connor to anyone needing plumbing or sewer inspection work. He is an excellent representative of Mr. Rooter, and I truly appreciate the outstanding service he provided!
My husband was discharged from hospital…
My husband was discharged from hospital on Aug 2 which happened to be the long weekend. After calling many local businesses in Penticton, I was told we couldn't get a plumber until Tuesday. This was not acceptable since we had a sewer backup. I left a message on the 24 hr Mr. Rooter line and low and behold, Ryan called and said he could be at our residence within the hour. He was so kind and helpful and had us back up and running in about an hour. He returned a few days later to clean out our pipe and to make sure everything was ok. If you need a plumber, call Mr. Rooter and ask for angel Ryan!!!!
Costly call with no solution
I called Mr. Rooter for a service call on a clogged kitchen sink drain. The fellow arrived within the hour, assessed the situation, and determined that his plumbing snake should clear the clog. After several attempts at running the bare snake cable (without a diffuser on the end), he declared that he would be unable to clear the drain with the equipment he had. He suggested the next step would be to schedule his "outside" crew who would have equipment better suited for the job (I'm thinking backhoe and digging up the yard). He then presented his bill, $306 for the less than 45 minutes he was here, and without any relief of the stopped-up drain problem. I then scheduled another plumbing company who was able to clear the clog which happened to be about five feet further down the drain line than Mr. Rooter's snake traveled.
Mr Scott Ferguson
Mr. Scott Ferguson did a complete plumbing job for me on Mon, Tue, and Wed. He drove all the way down from Erie Pa to New Castle Pa. to do the job. He was extremely nice and worked extremely hard. He had to get up early to drive an hour to an hour in a half just to do the job. He showed up on time everyday, and worked all the way through the day until it was time to go home. I also liked that he cleaned up after the day was done everyday. I would highly recommend him for any job. I would like to recommend that your company send a helper with him next time he has as big a job as he had here.
Overpriced, overbearing, and nonresponsive
Avoid these people like the plague! While they promptly fixed the water backup, their financing rep, Conrad, who collects model trains, asked me if I wanted to sell some Tycho model trains that he saw in my basement. Mr. Rooter management refused to respond to complaints about this predatory behavior. Conrad was also a key player in offering overpriced and unnecessary services. The cleanup service was nowhere close to being worth what they charged. Two guys sprayed the basement, did a poor job cleaning up the mess the plumbers made, and hastily exited. The plumbers prevericated about the damage their excavation to replace a pipe caused, claiming the mound of dirt they left would settle. Over a year later, it did not. Mr. Rooter is all about getting its snout into your wallet for as much as it possibly can. Reputable plumbers told me that they would have done the work for half what Mr. Rip -er Rooter charged. After I drop kicked them in Google Reviews, Mr. Rooters Marketing Manager Michaela Meadows called to see how they could resolve the issues. She refused to provide a mailing address to which I could send written comments. What legitimate, ethical business refuses to provide a mailing address? Why doesn't Mr. Rooter's owner list a physical address on its website? Then Ms Meadows and Mr. Rooter stonewalled the Better Business Bureau by refusing to reply to the complaint I filed against it with the BBB. By not responding, Mr. Rooter and its unethical marketing manager precluded the BBB from publishing my unfavorable review, because they know that that BBB gives a business time to respond to complaints before it publishes a adverse review. Its price is highly inflated and its staff are not trustworthy. Don't make the mistake of allowing these people on your property or into your wallet.
To unclog drain outside to septic cost…
To unclog drain outside to septic cost $583.00 for 30 minutes of work. Never again will I use Mr. Rooter.
I would of given zero stars
I would of given zero stars. They scammed a 100 year old woman out of $6200of her savings to repair a supposedly broken water main. She is on a fixed income. She was still getting water in her basement. They came out again and said her water heater was leaking. They wanted $2000 to replace it, her water heater was not leaking! They said her thermal expansion tank was bad and wanted $500 to fix it. It was bad and was replaced for $37! Not by them. I would of directed her to use a more reputable company.
Awesome crew and supervisor
The field supervisor Danny went above and beyond. The crew that were dispatched to our property this past week were amazing. Every one that was involved went above and beyond. They took care of our end, answered all questions, and explained everything in detail.
My family and I are very upset with…
My family and I are very upset with Jorge Alfaro of Mr. Rooter. My parents called to have a clogged drain in the kitchen fixed. Jorge came and unclogged the drain then continued to inform my 90-year-old dad that he needed a new garbage disposal and new drainage pipes. My dad usually fixes these things and he knew the disposal was still working but he recently had surgery and could not lift more than 5 lbs. Jorge quoted a price of $1.700 for all of it. It took him 2 hours to do all the work but he did not even replace the drain that comes with the new garbage disposal. He then presented my parents with a bill for over $2,000. We looked up the prices of the supplies and it came to $200 so he charged them $900 an hour! He left all the items from under the sink out on the floor and left and my dad unable to bend over to clean up his mess. To make matters worse, he installed a garbage disposal that was not the same kind, it was not hard wired and he did not know how to plug it in, so they were left with a new garbage disposal that did not work when the one he took out did work. He did not give my parents a receipt and said they would mail it but never did. We had to go to the unsympathetic, uncaring owner to get it. We saw that the supplies, tax and labor are not separated to see what each charge was. We feel Jorge and his boss just took advantage of an elderly couple.
This plumbing company tried to sell me…Apipe repair technology
This plumbing company tried to sell me a pipe repair technology that would have costed thousands of dollars. i got a local plumbing company the following day and they cleared the line. Not happy with Mr Rooterthe scammers.
I got school by a female plumber iam

Do not use this company!!!
Do not use this company!!!! Pay employees garbage. Charge you for consultation. Commission sales will try to take advantage of anyone. Do not use!!!!!
I used them last October
I used them last October. My basement toilet backed up. He spent pretty much all day here, charged us a ton of money.
Today, we had a cesspool guy here for the same problem. They actually fixed it, but we feel like we waited l wasted hundreds of dollars calling mr. Rooter. I had no choice. It was an emergency, and it was on a Sunday, but the guy seemed to have no idea what he was doing, and he was overcharging for everything. I managed to talk him down a little for the price, because he was going to overcharge me for the toilet innards .
Truly Bizarre
After 35 years as a landlord, this was the worst experience I've had with a contractor. It was also extremely bizarre.
I hired Brian to fix recurring flooding and drain blockages in my triplex. He assured me replacing several pipes would "permanently" solve the problem. After charging $8,000, the flooding and blockages remained exactly the same.
When I questioned the results, he became defensive, attacked me personally while slurring his words, and even threatened to report me for code violations—namely one involving a drain that had been removed during his own word. After I posted a negative review, his boss, Lane, reached out, and acted empathetic, claiming he wanted to make things right. But in the end he also bizarrely insisted the pipes were replaced well (that didn't in the slightest solve my issues), then offered a $150 refund, but never sent it.
I would not hire this company under any circumstances. They charged thousands of dollars without solving the problem they were hired to fix, then responded to legitimate concerns with drunken phone calls, no accountability, fake niceness, and a truly bizarre conjoined inability to see that I didn't hire them to replace random pipes, I hired them to solve a plumbing issue.
Quote 10x higher
Quote 10x higher
The cold line under my vanity has a T, allowing water to go down and outside of house. The valve at the top of the connection started leaking and I couldn't fix it. Quote for 3 hours and $1200!
Eventually I had someone else come in, replace the valve and a flex line for $125, in 20 mins.
While they came fast, this is not a company I will ever use.
No complaints here
From beginning to end, these guys were polite and professional. The owner Kalen was very hands on throughout the project and always kept me informed of next steps. The had the new sewer and water line done within 2 days. Technician Tyler was a true star- reassuring, polite, communicative, and did a great job getting my property back to normal! Nothing was damaged and the whole crew did a great job. I would have no hesitation trusting them for my plumbing needs.
The company will not give an estimate…
The company will not give an estimate over the phone.Technicians came out wanted to charge 750 for a simple drain clean out.we have our complete septic pumped for 500.When I called the technician on the price he immediately dropped the price to 300 again more than premium weekend rates. Then the technicians (two) were talking crap while leaving my property.Do not use they up charge based on the looks of your property.
