Steps to building with AI: 1. Prompt: You can use the mic button to talk about your problem out loud. Describe what you’re hoping to build, as if you were asking a technical friend to build you something 2. Restate the prompt: I often like asking it to rephrase and improve my own prompt before executing 3. Dummy data: Ask it to create some realistic data so you can assess if it’s building the right thing 4. Continuously improve! The first output can often get you 80% there. A few months ago we shared how we're rebuilding Finance at Notion for an AI-native world and moving from "what happened" to "what should we do about it." Today we're starting an encore: A short series of real examples from our Finance team. First up: Jessica Arulanandan, on our Corporate Finance team, walks through three AI agents she's built to change how she works day-to-day. And, they are all in Notion, which means you can collaborate, share and integrate into your existing work very easily! 🔸 Q&A on demand: Instead of pinging a FP&A business partner and waiting hours (or days) for a variance pull, you just ask. The agent returns actuals vs. budget and forecast, with charts, drivers, and assumptions behind the numbers. It’s the “what” answered in minutes. 🔹 Month-end close monitoring: The agent monitors the close process, confirms the books are shut, and posts a flash summary straight to Slack the moment it's done. The Finance team can take that input and move immediately. No more manual check-ins or waiting for others. 📊 Self-serve "why" dashboards: Live connected dashboards for all spend categories, with drilldowns by department, executive, and purpose, that lets anyone run what-if scenarios themselves and see the downstream impact, without waiting on Finance to build a custom model. Less time compiling data, more time on the "why”… for both Finance and our cross-functional partners.

I’m touring Europe to meet as many cool businesses running on Notion. This past week in Oslo, I met Björn Audunn Blöndal, the Head of Professional Services at Vev, a visual content builder for enterprise teams. One of the coolest parts about working at Notion is meeting the community around the world - even in Norway. In this case, it started with a LinkedIn post that I was moving abroad here. One of the people working at Vev, Sofia Savitski, took notice and introduced me to Björn, bringing the conversation in person! Vev’s been running the majority of their business operations with Notion, with clients working across all industries and the world. Behind all of that? A Notion workspace and Björn, a true Notion wizard. He manages his work between sales pipelines, client services, and content creation. He does much of his editing via a Notion MCP that connects to Claude and integrations with Slack. And yes, he believes yellow icons on blue in a dark-themed workspace is the best color combination. On his personal Notion, he even built an HTML block that tracks the ROI of selling an apartment over time, where he can tweak price numbers using sliders.
