I used ZipRecruiter one time and received 2 candidates, which for $549.00 was not going to work. I "closed" the job, but it was not explained to me that in order to actually close the job, you have to call in. I received my credit card and saw there were two charges because I didn't call in. The agent that I spoke with at the billing department said he would refund one of the charges because I didn't scream and yell at him like some people do. My opinion is that if that is happening enough that people are screaming and yelling about it, maybe the policy needs to change. I will never use ZipRecruiter again, not only because of the lack of candidates, but the shady, deceptive billing practices.

The jobs posted in the sales vertical are all 1099 or insurance companies. ZipRecruiter now feels like its just hosting scam posting. I'll stick to linkedin

Absolute scam
and stole my money - no applicants when I paid for the better subscription - and sending me applicants from other countries.
People do yourself a favor and use Indeed

$587 Spent With No Results and No Response

I had a very disappointing experience with ZipRecruiter. As a single-mom-owned small business, I invested $587 to post a job based on the expectations set during the sales process about visibility, promotion, and reaching qualified candidates.

Unfortunately, the posting delivered zero meaningful results. I did not receive viable candidates or see the value that was represented when I agreed to purchase the service. For a small business, $587 is a significant expense, and I made this investment in good faith because I needed real hiring support.

What has been most frustrating is the lack of follow-up. I have repeatedly tried to contact the sales representative I worked with to request a refund or discuss a resolution, but I have not received a response.

I understand hiring platforms cannot guarantee a hire, but I expected transparent communication, reasonable support, and accountability—especially after spending this amount with no meaningful outcome. I am still requesting that ZipRecruiter review my account and issue a refund.

Kris, thank you for helping me navigate the site as i just started back again. You were very helpful and patient.

I try to read through and research jobs to find the right one that works best for me but because I spent time researching what I was wanting to apply to I have been deemed a bot and cannot read any job postings now and there for can't apply to the jobs I was researching to make sure they were the right fit first. I tried reaching out to support but the ai support is the worst thing Ive ever encountered and provides absolutely no help. The number to call for support is even worse. Im fairly certain the email I sent will never be addressed either. I will go to indeed and apply and only use their service going forward. They actually don't block job seekers out and ignore their pleas for help as I really need to find a job that works for me.

Kris did a great job explaining the ins and outs of the platform that we were confused about. She not only explained the information, but she also went into detail on each section and advised us on future postings.
