My personal experience is bad

My personal experience is bad, I understand that it is for a specific aspect only (which is again, really bad).
So, I decided to open an account, as an alternative (?) to a good international bank (eg I like Revolut, but they are efficient, not like Yuh).
I did all the steps, and at some point they asked to make my first security deposit in my account.
I'm registered and working in Switzerland, but had no othe bank. Yuh would be my first (I wanted to skip the old style ones).
I realized that I should do the deposit from another swiss bank of mine (why should this be the 'average', that all people have??).
Then, somewhere, in a PDF (not easy to find in their website), I found that some more countries are also included in the list of accepted banks. I am from Greece, though, and greek banks are not accepted.

So I tried with Revolut (as an international bank). No.
I tried with swiss post (in case it could work). No.

I asked the support. Only typical/copy pasted responses.

I'm running away, now that it's 'early'.
----------
Update 31 Aug: I received the following reply from the company 'Thanks for your feedback. For security and regulatory reasons, the first deposit must come from an accepted regulated European bank account in your name. This requirement is part of our terms and shown during onboarding. I am from Greece, member of Europe, with more than 5.000 transactions from my greek banks (digital or not) with almost every European country, and they still continue writing lies (they accept only some European countries, less than half).

Feeling misled to open a bank account

So far I like the experience on the application though I feel that I have been misled. I am currently settling in Switzerland and needed a bank account to be opened quickly. I followed all the instructions, provided all the documents and made an intial payment. Though only after completing all this, they told me they needed my residence permit which I don't yet have, therefore I have money stuck with Yuh, and had to open another bank account.

Should I have been told that the account opening was not possible without the permit, I wouldn't have been through the process. That experience makes me wonder whether I want to continue with them or if I will simply close the account once I can transfer my money back

We’re glad the app experience has been positive so far, but we understand your frustration with the onboarding process.

For account opening, a valid Swiss residence permit may be required, and this should be clear as early as possible. Please contact us at contact@yuh.com with your details so our team can review your case and help clarify the next steps regarding your initial payment.

PROBLEMATIC COMPLIANCE PRACTICES

PROBLEMATIC COMPLIANCE PRACTICES

I was and still am a customer with yuh.
However, after a couple of years and being very happy with their banking app and services (no forex or investments with them, as they are way, and I mean, WAY too overpriced in that) I got a silent message in the message centre that they would like to know more about my twint transactions. I always pay the bill in the restaurant and per month I receive maybe 10-15 small transactions from friends to pay me back. That is the purpose of twint and I don't see how it should go against money laundering compliance when it's always the same people and every idiot can trace it back.

However, yuh found it to be suspicious enough to ask me about "third party transactions via Twint". Of course, I answered and gave them all the info. As I sometimes sell random stuff in my household (10-20 chf, seldom a smartphone or other more expensive stuff) I also get some Twint transactions from random people that buy stuff from me. They then also wanted a screenshot of my ricardo profile sold items...

Ok, of course, I comply and send them all of it.

And then it starts: they asked me about some payments and whatever and of course, I comply.

But really, it has already been 14 Days since they blocked, without notifying me, any incoming and outgoing payment. I only somehow managed to get the money from the ATM and called it a day.

I don't know how this is legal, I kindly asked them to tell me what the problem is because I have no intention in laundering money because of my image in society and also my income is laughable to begin with so why would I make life even harder on me to "launder" 500CHF per month via traceable TWINT transactions??

Yeah, I can't wait to return to using yuh, and I will continue being an unprofitable customer to them because I will now even more never invest with them or do any forex with them. They can only proceed in giving me SWQ points and I will totally be cashing this in soon. See you soon yuh, your banking is well, but your "Willkür" needs a very big fix.

UPDATE after reply from yuh on this platform on 24th of August 2026:

I sent you all the needed documents and clarified everything what you wanted, you still blocked my account and it was not fully functional which is highly questionable and your reply just shows me you have no idea or are not informed well in what was done here even though I described it very well

As a regulated financial platform, we are required to review certain transaction patterns and may ask for additional information, including around TWINT payments or private sales, even when the underlying explanation is straightforward. We know this process can feel heavy, especially if account functions are restricted while the review is ongoing.

Closure of account, forced investment sale

As many other dual citizens in Switzerland on 11th August received an email for account closure, forcing to sell all investments at loss. No customer support, no single explanation. Nothing can save you from their random decision to close an account without!!! possibility of transferring investments, it is their 28 article. Today it is us in the list of nationalities to cancel, tomorrow can be yours. So for investments choose a provider where you have an exit strategy at any moment! Definitely not this joke of an app.

A bank that openly discriminates

Same as some other customers, completely out of the blue, on 11 August 2026 I received a notification that Yuh was closing my account, referring to a mysterious “Article 28 of the General Terms and Conditions”.

I immediately called Customer Support to ask for more information, but they told me that they could not disclose any details and that, unfortunately, there was nothing I could do about the decision.

I specifically asked whether I had violated or broken any rules, but apparently, it was something else. What exactly? They refused to say.

I registered with Yuh in 2023. At the time, it was relatively easy to open an account, the service was free, and the card was delivered by post — everything was very convenient. I was not actively using this card, as it was not my main bank account, but I was interested in some of the additional features that Yuh offered.

The app is not particularly technologically advanced — I would even describe it as somewhat “raw” compared with those of larger banks — but as an additional account and card for specific purposes, I was happy to keep it.

And then — voilà. No explanation, no clear reason, no possibility to appeal or even understand what happened. I, along with many other users, simply received a notification saying that the bank no longer wanted to continue providing us with its services.

Clearly, as a private business, Yuh has the right to make its own decisions and set its own rules. However, when a bank suddenly terminates customers’ accounts without providing any meaningful explanation, it feels unfair and, frankly, discriminatory.

We understand that receiving an account closure notification, without being able to discuss the full background publicly, can feel unsettling and disappointing. As a regulated financial platform, some decisions may be required due to legal, regulatory or internal risk-related obligations, and we are not always able to disclose case-specific details.

That said, we know how important clarity and proper guidance are in such situations. Please contact us at contact@yuh.com with your case reference so our team can review your file, clarify the next steps and support you through the closure process.

Unreliable

As for the app itself, I already had complaints about it: it's somewhat buggy and lacks functionality. But the biggest issue proved to be the service itself.

On 11 August 2026, Yuh sent me an impersonal automated email informing me that my account would be closed, without giving any reason. I am a Swiss citizen, my finances are completely transparent, and if anything appears unclear to anyone, I am ready to explain every single cent in my wallet.

Moreover, Yuh refuses to transfer my shares to another bank and is effectively forcing me to sell my assets. This is despite the fact that, legally, my account is held with their parent bank, Swissquote, which should provide such a transfer service at the client's request.

An unreliable company.

Closed my account without a reason

The account was closed on 11.8.2026 without any explanation or stated reason. I can only concur with other reviewers who suspect that Russian/Belarusian origin may have played a role.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend trusting this bank with your money.

Forced account closure and asset liquidation without any reason!

Without any reason, Yuh is forcing me to close my SWISSQUOTE account, to sell my long term investments and pay 31.4% French tax on my gains!!!

Yuh has decided to terminate my banking relationship even though I have not violated any rules and have not asked to close my SWISSQUOTE account.

Because of Yuh's decision, I am now forced to sell my investments. I have been holding them for years and I planned to hold them for years. I did not want to sell them now. Yuh is forcing me to sell them anyway.

As a French tax resident, this forced sale means I will have to pay the French 31.4% PFU on my taxable capital gains. That is 12.8% income tax plus 18.6% social contributions!!! Just because YUH or SWISSQUOTE decided so! ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS!

And then Yuh has the nerve to tell me that if I do not close the account myself by 11 September, they will close it themselves and may charge me a closure fee.

So Yuh terminates my SWISSQUOTE account without me asking for it, forces me to sell investments I intended to hold for years, forces me to realize taxable gains and pay 31.4% tax on those gains, and then threatens to charge me a fee if I do not close the account quickly enough.

At this point, calling Yuh or SWISSQUOTE a bank feels like an insult to actual banks. This is not how a serious financial institution behaves. THERE MUST, AT THE VERY LEAST, BE A POSSIBILITY TO TRANSFER INVESTMENTS WITHOUT SELLING THEM, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT REAL BANKS DO. It feels more like a poorly run operation managed by a bunch of inexperienced teenagers who have no understanding of the consequences their decisions have for customers.

This is completely unacceptable.

I chose Yuh to hold and invest my money for the long term. Yuh unilaterally decided to end that relationship and now I have to deal with the financial consequences.

You made the decision to terminate the relationship. Why should I be the one paying the price for it?

Disgraceful.

UPDATE!
By the way, JUST 8 HOURS AGO, right next to my review, Ms. Daria Salmina posted a similar public review describing essentially the exact same problem: Yuh is closing her account, and even when she asked why, they told her that they “don’t know the reason.”

Her review is literally 8 HOURS OLD.

My surname and Ms. Salmina’s surname are both of RUSSIAN ORIGIN. Two people with Russian-origin surnames, reporting essentially the same extraordinary experience with Yuh, with her review appearing right next to mine - and hers posted just hours ago.

Could this be a coincidence? Certainly.

Is it an unusually interesting coincidence? I’ll leave that question to the readers.

And after hearing about SWISS NEUTRALITY being praised so frequently, one cannot help but wonder how impressive that famous neutrality looks when it comes to ACTUAL CUSTOMERS AND ACTUAL ACTIONS.

Just an observation. The facts are right there for everyone to see.

I am losing money and suffering just because I chose YUH. And I don't even know if it's the decision of YUH or of SWISSQUOTE "bank" to close my account.

If Yuh does not have the operational capability to transfer my securities to another broker without selling them, that is Yuh’s operational limitation - not my choice and certainly not my responsibility. Why should I be forced to realise taxable capital gains simply because Yuh suddenly wants to get rid of me but is unable or unwilling to transfer assets that I already own?

Yuh app not functionning on Murena /e/OS

(edit: reply received by Yuh, and indeed it works now; hoping that it's for good). Yuh's app does not work (at all) if you are not on iOS or Google Android. I try to use it on an alternative phone OS (Murena /e/OS) and it says the app is blocked "for security reasons". The truth is that other banking apps work perfectly fine (Neon, traditional banks) so the problem is with Yuh.
Either they change this quickly, or I just go to Neon.
Many people aren't using iOS or Google Android anymore and Yuh should embrace this.

We understand your point: using an alternative OS should not automatically mean being left without access. Our security checks are there to protect accounts, but we’re also working to improve compatibility. Access with Murena /e/OS should be restored with the upcoming /e/OS 4.1.1 update.
