It took a little while to get through to someone, but i spoke to Gadija today and she was really lovely and helpful. I needed to update our direct debit details and it was really quick, so all in all pleased :)

It was a great experience with the customer service, and sorted out everything smoothly.

Thato was very helpful but I did ask for a form to be sent to me for the CCL and 5% VAT. As a Church we should not be paying CCL and VAT @ 20%.
Also
We have sold the Church and exchange of contract / sale completion is planned for Friday 4 Sept '26. Thato has written about a lease which is confusing (to me anyway). Hope you can remedy this for me quickly.
Thanks

For the love of god…..DO NOT TOUCH!!! Making up contracts when our contract has ended calling it a fake EMERGENCY CONTRACT!
This company will be on Watchdog for putting phone down on valid and polite conversations.
Nasty tactics that are unheard of these stays in the UK.
For the love yourself and your mental health DO NOT USE!!!!! Im shocked that these people still trade.
Reply from Yorkshire Gas and Power
So check out their google reviews. Bullying tactics, endless overdue account emails, texts, phone calls - all because you want to end the contract.
It took us 21 months to end our contract after YGP 2 times pretented they had not received the paperwork.
Don’t go near them - they are modern day time share style bullies.
Disgusting company!!! - BE WARNED

Still no further forward months of emails back and forward after allready feeling missold by broker as this seems to be the ongoing issue but they pass back and forward. Debt collectors on case don’t know where payments have gone between them all though they work for them all in it together I’d say, getting charged for electric monthly when no Electirc is getting used from that metre as have two so surely can see I’m using hell of a lot more on the second metre. why should I pay anything other than standing charge but no 300 pound a month. It’s With “complaints” team now and no one replies to emails. Unbelievable do not sign up with them avoid!!!! And you get no where with the reply to these comments either. Just emails and emails which don’t seem to get you anywhere. AVOID!!!

Absolutely appalling experience. I inherited YGP as a supplier in early April when taking over a commercial premises and intended to switch immediately. Despite providing all requested documentation for a Change of Tenancy, they delayed processing it for nearly three months, finally accepting it on July 3rd.
When I subsequently attempted to switch to my preferred supplier, YGP blocked the transfer, citing an unpaid invoice. Shockingly, this invoice was for a meter that had already been removed and replaced prior to my tenancy.
By mid-August, I was dealing with invoices totaling thousands of pounds across two meters—one of which doesn't even exist on the property. These inflated charges largely accrued simply because they actively obstructed my switch. I have finally managed to leave for a reliable supplier, but I strongly warn other businesses to avoid this company. Their administrative delays and inaccurate billing practices are completely unacceptable.
Update: YGP has replied to this review stating someone would be 'in contact soon to discuss this'—proving they didn't even read the review, as I have already successfully switched away and closed the account.

⭐ 1/5 — The worst energy company for businesses!
My experience with YGP has been absolutely terrible. They charge an outrageous standing charge of approximately £1.80 per day, and their electricity rates are extremely expensive. The bills are enormous and completely unreasonable for a business.
Their customer service is just as bad poor communication, unhelpful staff and no clear solutions when you have a problem. I deeply regret choosing this company and would not recommend YGP to any business owner. Check every rate and contract condition very carefully before signing anything with them!

We have tried multiple times by email and phone call to cancel a contract for a property which we have sold. YGP keep insisting that the information we have provided and the address is wrong. We have sent a TR1,a copy solicitor letter confirming the sale and have completed an online change of tenancy form but YGP are still taking monthly direct debits for a property we sold on 9th June! We have now raised a dispute with the Energy Ombudsman. Do not use this company! They refuse to escalate complaints.

Absolutely disgraceful experience with YGP and what should have been a straightforward Change of Tenancy.
I submitted the COT several times through YGP's online portal, only to repeatedly be asked for information I'd already provided. I continued making sure the electricity was paid through the existing PJT Capital account while YGP sorted the transfer, so there was never any attempt to avoid paying for the supply.
From 29 July, I dealt with Kesia Roberts, but the information I received about the COT was repeatedly contradictory. On 13 August I specifically asked whether I was free to leave YGP and later asked for the complaints procedure. Both were ignored. I subsequently made it explicitly clear in writing that I wanted a formal complaint opened, yet this was still not actioned.
Then, on 20 August, Bulelwa Pule emailed advising there was no outstanding balance. Shortly afterwards, YGP issued me with a staggering £8,207.45 bill backdated to 3 April, with no clear accounting for the payments already made through PJT Capital.
To top it off, on 21 August Simon Brown contacted me attempting to get me into a YGP contract while discussing amended/backdated rates — despite the COT, disputed £8,207 bill and my complaint still being unresolved.
The lack of communication between departments has been astonishing. I've had contradictory information, ignored emails, repeated COT problems, an £8,207 bill after being told there was no balance, and repeated requests for a formal complaint seemingly ignored.
I have retained the full email trail documenting everything above and have once again formally requested that YGP investigate this.
What should have been a simple Change of Tenancy has turned into weeks of unnecessary stress and wasted time. Easily one of the poorest customer service experiences I have encountered.
