Well, they have moved on from their last fiasco to a smaller new one.
I guess to try and regain the trust of some of the old lifetime members (and an addition income stream) they have offered some reactivation pricing available until the end of this month.
They can't even get this right as the 1 year pricing provided in the email is not the 1 year pricing shown on the website when you go to sign up. I noticed this a few weeks back and mailed their support team, but have not received a reply.

Dishonest company masquerading as an honest company with positive reviews using all of the assets and reviews of the original company they purchased on their website (meaning the VPN•Secure website, not TrustPilot) as if they are current, accurate, and honest reviews reflective of the new owners. All of which are conveniently 5-Star reviews which predated the change in ownership.
I don't need to rehash any of the previous reviews made by other users, there's hundreds of others saying what doesn't need to be repeated.

The service was bad before the takeover, zero customer service, and an ever dwindling number of servers. Now my account (like many others) has been officially closed and the first I get to know is today via what I would call a chirpy & sarcastic everything's still rosy email, that tells me they're closing my lifetime paid upfront account, yet also doing me a big favour whilst asking me to pay again for a service I'd already paid for. I deem my old contract to still be valid and they are in breach of that contract, so no way would I want to accept new payment terms that'd then form a new contract, relieving them of all previous obligations. Before they reply to me on here in their scratched record technique to feebly attempt damage limitation, I am stating some facts: Lifetime means lifetime, and the repetition of "we've honoured lifetime deal customers for 2 years" quite frankly doesn't wash. In that case start again from scratch guys, I guess you'll change the name soon enough if you don't go bust. They acquired the assets in 2023 and continued to use the same company name, provide the same service, same software and rely on the same paying customers then clearly they bought the business as a going concern warts and all. This is simply the new owner's way of trimming unwanted inherited costs, probably when it goes bad it'll then become a tax write off. Customer trust is essential in their industry and they've blown it, and they probably realise that. I do get their argument in one sense but LTDs were part of the customer base which they must have known about as all users have to log in with user names and passwords... so there's a database of everyone on their system along with payments etc. Saying there's no records of the lifetime deals is rubbish, we all log in and the days tick down on the interface so they knew alright... No amount of "we're owning this" is going to restore that damaged trust, it sounds just like they're using the politician's repetition technique of "we've inherited an economic black hole", it's not our fault, tough decisions have to be made, so hand over more money to keep what you've already paid for. Luckily I moved away to another provider a while back because I had a gut feeling things were getting bad and I was right, still it's the principle. For me, this company is on a par with 99% of politicians as far as promises and trust is concerned. It seems they'll then offer a reply, using bad reviews to repeat their same old lines, it's not fooling anyone, not winning them any new business, and it's certainly not going to ameliorate the situation. Basically I translate it as "oh yes, saying we get it, but basically tough luck anyway because we honestly couldn't care less... bye" A great way to rebuild, or should that be build back better?

It's completely unacceptable that my 'lifetime' subscription was cancelled without a single word of notice. This isn't just poor customer service—it's a deceptive and disrespectful business practice. The company has completely destroyed the trust of its long-term customers. Given the growing number of one-star reviews and the valid criticisms across many platforms, it’s clear that their reputation is suffering. They created this situation, and it seems likely that this kind of business conduct will lead to them not lasting much longer.

I purchased a lifetime subscription to VPN Secure through a reputable deal site, expecting that "lifetime" meant what it said. After using the service for a while, I recently received an email stating that all lifetime accounts were being shut down due to a change in ownership. No meaningful compensation was offered, just a "special discounted" plan that essentially asks me to pay again for a service I already bought.
This is not how you treat customers. If the original deal was unsustainable, that’s a business issue—customers should not bear the cost of poor planning or mismanagement. Ownership changes do not void customer agreements. The fact that they chose to cancel all lifetime accounts instead of honoring prior commitments shows a complete lack of integrity and accountability.
This is especially frustrating because many people, like me, bought this deal in good faith. Now we’re being told that the deal just no longer exists, and our only option is to pay more.
Avoid this company if you care about long-term trust or keeping what you paid for. They’ve shown they can change the rules at any time and leave you with nothing.

I purchased a lifetime VPN and having taken my money they decided they would not honour what I had paid for (if they won’t honour that what else won’t they honour). The company is a complete scam operation and I, along with many customers have been betrayed. Avoid at all costs

I purchased a lifetime subscription from VPN Secure in good faith, only to discover they abruptly terminated all Lifetime accounts as of April 28, 2025. When I contacted them, they gave a prepared response saying the company was sold in 2023, and that the new owners only acquired the technology, domain, and customer database — but not the legal obligations, including Lifetime Deals.
They will probably respond to this review with the same explanation, claiming they generously gave users two extra years of access “out of goodwill” and that similar things happened when companies like MyHeritage acquired Geni.com.
But let’s be clear — these claims don’t hold up:
✅ If they acquired the customer database, used it to send marketing emails, and continued operating the service under the same brand, they inherited the value created by customers, including paid Lifetime accounts.
✅ Selectively inheriting only the profitable parts while discarding obligations is not only unethical but may violate consumer protection laws, depending on the jurisdiction.
✅ The comparison to other companies doing the same does not make it legal or fair — it just shows this practice unfortunately happens in the industry.
In short, they used our money to build the business, then invalidated the agreements when convenient. I strongly recommend avoiding VPN Secure if you care about fair treatment and honoring commitments.

Avoid this company!!
They have not honoured previous subscriptions so why will they honour future ones!!
They are extremely anti-consumer and will try everything to get you to pay more.
They cancelled our lifetime licenses. That's not how lifetime licenses work.
They claim to only have bought "assets", but cleary have kept the subscription costumers.
They also make contradicting claims to wiggle out of any responsibility. First they say the change is now because they just found out about the lifetime licenses. Then they claimed to have "graciously" allowed us for two more years. You can't have it both ways.
And to top it off, there is some marketing rep replying to all these reviews, saying dumb stuff to try to fix it.
The ONLY fix you can do, is to honor the lifetime licenses that were already sold or refund them.

Like many users who have posted a review on here recently I had a lifetime deal which was terminated. The company that acquired the original business that sold these lifetime deals has decided that they no longer want to honour these contracts. They seem to attribute the position they've been put in to the company they bought out. They have made the decision to claw back a little money from cancelling existing user lifetime accounts. I assume that they expected this to be unpopular but have probably not anticipated the strength of the reaction. With so many other VPN options for people to pick what marks out VPN Secure? At the moment the answer to that question is the company's willingness to put short term financial gain ahead of the interests of their customers. I'd certainly encourage any potential customers reading these reviews to look elsewhere.

TL:DR
VPN Secure “Lifetime Memberships” aren’t for life.
VPN Secure profited from selling Lifetime Memberships. VPN Secure was sold to someone else who tells me they were unaware of the Lifetime Memberships so I am now forced to pay for a monthly or yearly membership. Their lack of researching the company they purchased shouldn’t be my problem. VPN Secure sold me a Lifetime Membership. VPN Secure should honor the purchase regardless of who now owns them. Class Action Lawsuit anyone?

I signed up to a 30 day trial and the service is dreadfully slow. Like painful... I feel like I'm back on my old 56k modem. And the IP addressed were already banned by several websites I wanted to visit.
The software itself seems ok and simple to use - the only positive.

Whoever bought out vpnsecure cancelled all lifetime memberships with no warning. They blame their customers for it and did a half hearted ai apology.

It has come to my attention that VPNSecure has illegally obtained and used private customer financial records.
The "new" owners of VPNSecure state they acquired the company in an "asset only" transaction which does not cover customer records. Yet they admit on this very page that "Yes, we kept the paying subscription customers — because they were visible in the PayPal/PinPayments merchant records provided by the previous owner. "
Obtaining personal information in such a way is in clear violation of, for example, GDPR laws in the EU. It is illegal. It likely breaks data protection laws in many other jurisdictions.
UPDATE: I see VPNSecure has replied with yet another sarcastic response and personal attack, rather than address the substantive point of my post. They can’t have it both ways - claim an “asset only” acquisition without customer accounts, yet at the same time have access to financial details of all previous customers. That is absolutely illegal and it’s not even a grey area. Either they are lying, or they breaking the law (or both). There is no alternative.

Untrustworthy and unreliable company, even you come with hundreds of excuses and a so-called "copy-paste" justification. They offer different justifications for their evil actions. To answer a fuming client, I can see the "attitude" of this company. Attributing fault to all parties, including the customers--- because of "Previous owner", because of "email server bounce", because "we are transparent". End of the day, NO FIX, just claiming you are "honest". Yes, you are correct - it is 100% our fault. We are not supposed to deal with this type of company; we already have 100+ alternatives available.
I was a customer. Now, I no longer want to deal with this low-profile company. You'll be able to deal with VPNSecure.on on YOUR OWN RISK.

It is a nightmare for business owners with many negative reviews, but you must notify the users early. Now, it's no surprise that you will sell the users' data and logs when you are in another crisis.
You'll need to notify your customers of an issue in Australia or the Bahamas. If an email notification fails to be delivered, a report should be reviewed, and alternative means of communication should be employed to inform the customer. Regarding Lifetime Deal (LTD) agreements known in 2023, customers must be notified in advance of any planned termination. For example, a business should communicate, "We will be ending the LTD agreement in one or two years for the following reasons." Terminating accounts before sending notification of the deactivation is considered unprofessional and undermines trust.
UPDATE: The Company may have a strict no-log policy now. I know they had an LTD policy earlier. I just mentioned that a company with low ethics can change its policy at any time. I didn't claim that that company sold data; I warned customers about the possibility. I expressed my view; you can decide based on personal experience.

Not gonna put much in here as you can see from previous reviewers in the same spot and the copy and paste responses they use in the reviews feedback, the marketing department looks to be in overdrive to manage a bad situation. Paid for a lifetime product product only for them to blame the previous owners and not take ownership that they didn't follow due diligence and say in an email that it was not their fault that they didn't know about the lifetime access. stay away from these guys, they play the blame game too much and wash themselves of their responsibilities to their so called customer base.

Paid subscription was cancelled, unwilling to refund the cost of the subscription, and the company is using the cancelled customer list to spam inboxes asking for new subscriptions. A bait and switch scam.

So you keep the monthly contracts but not the lifetime? Seems like youre trying to weirdly skirt the laws here on something you could offer the people who already paid, you saw the P&L before you bought and still chose to bought. Ignore this company, dont give them a dime, let them crash and burn as they deserve.
