Poor lid design for the Talenti Gelato containers

Unilever owns Magnum and Talenti Gelato so I figured I’d write a review here since it’s owned by a corporation that isn’t doing its homework. The Talenti Gelato sales are affected by the poor ergonomics of its twist on lid design that is extremely difficult to open without waiting for the gelato to be slop. The website has had the SAME notification about changes being made since May 2025. It’s now August 2026 and the SAME issues are still ongoing…. Do you even care to preserve this brand that you purchased from an Entrepreneur?? European customer service is TERRIBLE. Please do better vs flooding the markets with items that cannot be consumed effectively due to poor design.

I called about shea moisture leave-in…

I called about shea moisture leave-in conditioner, the Manuka Honey and Yogurt line. It stinks to high heavens of cheap perfume and the internet told me it does not leave your hair and pillow case. So I called Unilever, but I was kind of put in a corner with a "well, smell is personal" and "you are the first to make a note", eventhough the internet is full of complaints of people literally getting gag reflexes in the shower from using it. So I have the dark brown feeling this expensive bottle is the last shea moisture I will ever buy. But then it doesn't matter to them - Unilever owns the world anyway, so you'll just have to buy something else that's theirs. Sad. Helpdesk person was corporate-kind enough I guess, probably a tough job.

Know that I turn the Hellmans advert…

Know that I turn the Hellmans advert off the second it comes on

I’m sick of big companies not bothering to come up with their own jingle and using and murdering well loved classics to promote their goods.

You’ve gone too far using Sweet Caroline music !

Unilever has destroyed walls as a company. No more feast.

Oh my god what is this crap. I have bought a dozen or more feasts over the course of every year for at least the last 30 years, they have been my favourite since I was a boy.

The new recipe has not just slightly altered the ice cream I loved but has totally obliterated it. They dumped the nice balanced chocolate ice cream and replaced it with a cheap nasty overly sugary vanilla ice cream. They dumped the nice firm slab of milk chocolate you got in the middle that would joyfully crack when you bit it, and replaced it with cheap sloppy gooey discount Nutella substitute.

It's just an utterly brazen attempt at using massively cheaper ingredients while hoping it damages sales less than profits made up from using cheaper crap.

Not only will I never be buying another one of these again, I am so angry at walls being penny pinching corporate bastards that I will boycott the entire company's goods for the rest of my days.

I guess I will have to go buy Aldi Fiesta instead. Not quite the same but a damned sight nearer to the original taste than this massively overpriced cheap slop walls is now trying to sell us I stead of the beautiful original product they destroyed after decades of love for it.

Cornetto... what is this monstrosity.

These mega companies have just pushed things too far. The line must be drawn here, this far and no further. This monstrosity is like the eighth cousin twelve times removed from actual ice cream. Shrinkflation making a Cornetto the size of a leprechauns pinky is bad enough - oh no... not only do they screw you on the size, they replace cream with emulsifiers, potato starch and more gums than a bloody nursing home. The strawberry flavour? What flavour, I just ate 260 calories of non-descript ice flavour product. The chocolate is slightly better than Hershes, but only because you can't taste it. Apparently they rely on nostalgia to tickle my tastebuds because I'm not getting a god damn whisper of flavour from this garbage. Do yourself a favour, suck on some ice cubes, it's more flavourful and way cheaper.

Carte D'Or ice cream is now horrible

Carte D'Or ice cream is now horrible, tastes more like whipped chemicals. The ingredients list shows the main ingredients is skimmed milk. Supposedly premium ice cream's first ingredient should be cream. Not skimmed milk and thickeners. Cheap rubbish being marketed as a premium product.

Hellman's Mayo new formula

Bought Hellman's Mayonnaise with its new formula.
It was awful. greasy and sort of stale but also horribly bland tasting. Far too poor to accompany any further food consumption
Complained to Unilever by email, their reply though polite could be summed up as "Sorry you didn't like the new formula, it's a matter of taste, so tough luck"

No offer of a refund. So, guess which of their products I won't be buying again ?Hellman's

Sticky TRESemmé Brush-handles

I purchased six various TRESemmé brushes (by Unilever), and after just 18 months, the handles became sticky and unusable, despite being stored with great care and cleaned regularly. I contacted their customer service with detailed explanations and even a video showing the issue.
Their response? A polite but dismissive email blaming things like product buildup or moisture exposure—even though I had taken all reasonable precautions. They refused to offer a refund or replacement, citing the age of the brushes and lack of packaging/batch info.
Frankly, I expect better quality from a reputable brand, selling expensive brushes at around £12 per brush. A brush handle should not degrade like this within such a short time. Very disappointed in both the product and the lack of accountability. I won’t be purchasing TRESemmé brushes again.
