Absolutely appalling experience – Vehicle taken, payment still outstanding!
I would strongly advise anyone considering using We Buy Any Car to think twice.
I recently agreed to sell my late uncle’s van through the Bracknell branch. I accepted their valuation, completed the required paperwork, provided the death certificate and answered every question their team raised.
I also paid for an urgent payment service and was explicitly told the money would be in my account by 8pm.
What happened next is absolutely shocking.
We Buy Any Car have transferred the V5C into their company’s name, taken the necessary steps to process the vehicle transfer, but have STILL not paid me a penny.
I have now been back to the Bracknell branch twice, spoken to their representative, and repeatedly been reassured that everything was fine and payment would be completed.
It hasn’t happened.
To make matters worse, this is my late uncle’s estate. I’m already dealing with an incredibly difficult and emotional period following his death, and instead of making the process straightforward, this company has created unnecessary stress and anxiety.
I have effectively been left in a position where the company has taken the vehicle through its transfer process, but I have no payment and no clear explanation as to when I will receive it.
It genuinely feels like they’ve taken the vehicle without paying for it.
Is this really how We Buy Any Car operates? Take possession first and leave customers chasing their own money afterwards?
I want the full agreed payment released immediately, or a clear arrangement to reverse the transaction and return the vehicle and associated paperwork.
I expect a senior member of the compliance or management team to contact me tomorrow with a resolution.
I would not recommend this company based on my experience. Absolutely disgraceful customer service.

Quick and easy. The quotes are a bit misleading. However this does remove all the stress of selling ur car. The lady that helped me was very nice and helpful.

My Beetle
Nicola was very friendly and professional. The selling process was very straightforward and they will do all the admin with DVLA Instead of me needing to do it.
The only downer was the price offered. I had hoped for a bit more despite having a high milage old vehicle in great drivable condition.
Make sure you have the full service history or ask your garage to duplicate it for you and Don’t loose your spare key ! You’ll get a lower offer with only one!
