We’ve been building things for the outdoors since 1878 - long before garden sheds were a household staple. It all started with E.C. Walton, a bee-keeping lecturer who began crafting affordable beehives for his students. When local farmers saw his carpentry skills, they came calling for chicken coops, and soon Walton Muskham Beehive Works was born.
From those early days in Nottinghamshire, we’ve spent over 140 years learning how to design and deliver high-quality garden buildings that stand the test of time. What began with beehives has grown into sheds, summerhouses, and spaces that help people make more of their outdoors.
When you choose Waltons, you’re not only investing in high-quality products - you're choosing expert design, time-tested durability, and a customer-first commitment that sets us apart. Here’s why thousands of homeowners continue to trust Waltons for their outdoor space.

Since leaving my review on the 22/10/2026 and Walton’s asking me for information which I sent the same day they have not contacted me. The customer service continues to be as bad as I previously mentioned!

Dealing with the delivery was straightforward. When we couldn’t find the build instructions the person in the phone was very helpful and efficient.

Overall, it’s a pretty good kit. Once you can get your head around which pieces are which! Some pieces are very similar in size and you need to lay this all out in advance to understand. The lack of comprehensive building instructions, specific to the model you buy is very unhelpful. A general overall instruction guide for the general setup of these cabins, is not good enough. When delivering pieces that are of a specific size and position, these should be bundled together and labelled, even if only a handnote on the tape that wraps around them. Easy to do when packing and this would save a novice builder like us, nearly 2 hours. Respectfully, the floor panels are inadequate. If we were to lay those only onto the provided bearers, there would be not nearly enough support for the weight of normal human beings walking around inside. There would be far too much bounce. We had to significantly increase the number of noggins to our base, and still feel there is too much flex in the floor panels and should be much thicker. In addition, the side shed extension floor panels have to be cut specifically to length, as the ones provided are all far too long.

Delivery date from order was as stipulated. There was an issue with missing parts being lost in transit but this was very quickly resolved by the customer services team.

It has took us 3 days in total to build the 8x8 shed greenhouse combi.
We have built to the exact instructions yet there is a gap in the roof line between the greenhouse and shed.
Ive ended up filling the gap with sealent then using offcuts of wood to span across then offcuts of roof felt to cover the whole lot

Good sales and account management
Installation is a bit hit and miss
Installed fine but not without a lot of fuss around signing a waiver of liability for an uneven surface; this felt standard practice despite lvels showing as falt by the teamon the day.
There was a lot of materials left after the install that i am having to book time to remove to landfill.

Easy to deal with . Communication was good . Arrived when they said they would .
Good product.
My only gripe would be the instructions.
I understand the need for going paperless but think we should have a choice .
Standing outside continuously scrolling on a small phone wasn't ideal .

So, an update from july, i appreciate 3 months have passed, but that has allowed things to "settle". The first thing i want to clarify is the company's assertion that they couldn't find my file, every time i rang they managed to find it without issue. Make of this what you will. So having fitted a continuous 5"×2" support in the veranda to stop it sagging, and in order to lay the roof, and for when it snows, we set about laying the rubber, which was super heavy and difficult to manage if your not physically fit. We gave up and i asked a professional roofer we have used to do our bungalow to come and take look and advise a way forward, the chap i asked i use often as his work is also chimney maintenance. I was dubious about the fixing method in the drawings as this involved a thin strip of wood around the edges which would soon degrade under constant rain and sun stresses, my opinion was it would start twisting and eventually leak. This was borne out by kevs assessment when he looked it over. I told him to do what was necessary in order to have a sealed roof that would have longevity. The roofing materials supplied where of good qualty so that was a plus. The guy grafted for two days as it was not as simple as the drawings would imply, he used proper plastic edging all the way round and rubber seals on the corners and protruding overlaps, the cutting in is crucial, make a mistake here and your gonna need a new sheet of rubber, and it aint cheap! Another £430 on the trims, seals, labour and the jobs a goodun.........However, i asked kev about the implications of the damp heat thats going to be generated and dissipated through the roof boards into the glue ? His reply was non committal as he hadn't done a roof on a sauna before. In my humble opinion it cannot be good, also, the heat loss through a lack of insulation and all the glass units that are supplied without them being filled with argon in the design mean the size of the heater required needs to be around 10kw for a true sauna heat experience, not good for your lec bills an inefficient. When you get above 7.5kw, if you dont have the dedicated supply and rcd's etc to the sauna, then this too becomes another expense, trust me, ive resarched this and taken advice from qualified electricians. A 6mm cable up to 40amp supply, will only allow you a 6 to 7.5 kw max heater without it tripping out if other high supply items are used at the same time. This is too small for the size and style of this shed, sorry, sauna, especially when the door doesn't fit. My intention is to upgrade the 6mm cable from my bungalow consumer unit, to 10mm to the garage consumer unit which needs to be the metal type to comply with the relevant regulations, mine is plastic, they are not that expensive and a good sparky will custom tailor it to your needs, this will allow me up to 9kw comfortably. Fortunately i am able to pull all the cables where they need to be and put the consumer unit up, so the sparky, who is a friend of the family, only needs to tack in place and connect up, also you will need an armoured cable to run outside of any building to an isolator on the outside of your shed, sorry again, sauna, then youll need high temperature silicone cable to run from the isolater to your heater unit. They dont tell you any of this in their sales pitch and i dont know yet what the price of 10mm armoured/silicon cable costs. What i intend to do is what ive said above, but put kingspan between the rafters and put a damp proof membrane and seal it with a heatproof board and some mood enhancing lighting, no price on this yet but i predict around £400 to supply and fit. Back to the door. Ive been looking around for something to replace it and price run from around £400 to £2000 depending on whether it has a frame or not etc etc, the one I'm looking is £750 supply only but im waiting for the joiner who put this she...sauna up, to pop round and tell me if its doable. The glass fronts supplied are just doors that sit in ill fitting, unsealed, uninsulated frames with huge gaps between frame and timber "logs". In summary this "sauna" is just a shed masquerading as sauna connected to a slightly larger shed with the front missing, masquerading as a veranda, with notable defects that the company supplying couldn't give toss about. Because its constructed in aspen its sold to you in alluring terminology that sucks you in, the reality is its just an uninsulated shed thats going to require work to retain heat to level that you would expect from a "true sauna experience, im 4 months in from delivery and still working on it when the wages land. There are much better examples out there, more expensive on the face of it, but probably purpose built, insulated saunas. Not a shed,Good luck....... so in addition to the above i contacted waltons and identified myself and explained my review. I think they want i taken down.

Something went wrong at almost every stage of the elongated process to order a shed.
1. I was shocked when the company insisted on receiving photographs of the base before accepting an order.
2. Furthermore they then insist on a rediculous 6 week lead time when it is ordered.
3. They make threats about the build of your base saying that you have to pay installation if the base isnt exactly correct and they dont build your shed.
4. So after overcoming all these hurdles and got my base built we finally arrived at the installation date. Nobody arrived in the time slot arranged and i received no warning so i wasted a whole morning. When i called they arranged someone to come in the afternoon. They arrived lied about the shed parts being incomplete and went away again.
Still received no calls about a rescheduled visit. So when i again chased them up eventually a new installation date was provided after a new delivery of 'missing' parts.
5. When the second pair of installers arrived they discovered the base was 2.5 inches short. These measurements are measurements provided to me when i double checked with their staff. By the way those measurements also had to be chased up by me.
6. So working with the installers i decided the best course of action was to shorten the shed by 2 feet. Not ideal for two reasons, its smaller and the water tun off at the front doesnt happen because the front of the shed doesnt o erhang the base.
7. The installers hid a load of off cuts and unused felt cuttings that any decent company would have removed.
8. The company at all these stages never offered anything they had to be chased and i had to fight for reductions in price for the size and a measly £100 for my trouble.
My advise to potential customers, avoid this company like the plague. Customers are treated as an inconvenience and they NEVER EVER call you back.

Overwhelming , I am having to put this up alone and it really would have been helpful if all the different parts had been labelled,
