The hotell Maritina that we’re staying…
The hotell Maritina that we’re staying at is in dire need of a renovation of its rooms. It’s a shame bc everything except the room are newly renovated and the staff are amazing. But when it comes to Ving I’ve always known that they’re a large and trustworthy travel company. However I was not completely satisfied with our transfer since the bus could only drop us off 300m from our hotel due to narrow roads . So we had to carry our bags over these narrow and uneven pedestrian route which was really frustrating. I brought this up with different customer support staff members and they all were lovely in their own way and I could tell that they really wanted to help. And I didn’t necessarily want the transfer refunded. But I expressed that I really felt the need for a better solution than us carrying 60kg in bags 300m in scolding sun and 35°C heat. However Vings management and their company policy dictated that there is nothing they could do and that their website shows that the transfer drops guests of at that spot 300m away. Which wouldn’t be a problem for us if the roads and crossings were constructed in such a way that you could get there with ease.
I personally hate it when companies refuse to do anything and blame their management. But this is where lovely Cornelia from the Sweden office comes in. I tell her about the situation and my frustration. She hears me out like no one else with empathy. I tell her to please see what she can do. All I want is not to have to carry our bags in that heat again on our way back home to Sweden. She says that she’s going to call me right back and calls me back in like 10min with a solution that keeps us from having to carry our bags to the pickup spot again. When nobody else could help me Cornelia refused to give up.
I would have been moderately happy with my trip either way and would probably have traveled with Ving again. But what Cornelia did made me preferably want to travel with ving again. Next time I will specifically look for trips with Ving and choose their trip even if the price is a little higher.
It truly is the small things and acts of kindness that has the biggest impact. Ving, Cornelia has made me a customer for life due to her service-minded thinking and kindness. If she keeps it up she will make you a tone of money, and nobody hates money right? Please thank her and give her raise or something, she definitely deserves it!
SCAMMERS!!!
AVOID VING.SE FOR CRUISE PACKAGES – WE PAID 18,500 SEK PER PERSON FOR ALMOST NO SERVICE
I booked a Mediterranean cruise package through Ving.se, expecting the convenience and value that a travel package is supposed to provide. Instead, it turned out to be one of the biggest travel disappointments I've ever experienced.
We paid 18,500 SEK per person. By the end of the trip, we realised that if we had booked everything separately — the exact same MSC cruise, hotel, and flights — it would have cost around 12,000 SEK per person at most.
In other words, we paid thousands of SEK extra per person for almost no added value.
So what exactly did Ving provide?
Almost nothing that justified the price.
The most frustrating part is that Ving did not even save us time. They simply redirected us to the MSC, hotel, and airline websites, where we still had to go through the booking process ourselves. We had to make the same decisions, enter the same information, and complete the same steps we would have done if we had booked everything independently.
So we paid a huge premium for a service that did not even make the booking process easier.
NO AIRPORT OR PORT TRANSFERS
One of the biggest shocks was discovering that there was no transportation included between:
* Rome Airport → Hotel
* Hotel → Cruise terminal
We had to organise everything ourselves after arriving in Rome.
This was never made clear during the booking process. If you're selling a "package holiday", how can you leave travellers to figure out transportation between every major stop themselves?
NO INTERNET – AND THE WAY THEY PRESENT IT IS MISLEADING
Another unpleasant surprise was discovering that there is no internet included on the ship.
What makes this even more frustrating is how Ving presents this information.
In their FAQ, there is a dropdown titled "Internet omboud" ("Internet onboard"). A customer would naturally assume this means the ship has onboard internet or that it explains the available internet service.
However, the important information is hidden inside this dropdown. You have to click on it before discovering that internet is not included and that you must purchase it separately for around 350 SEK per person, per day.
This is a major additional cost that should be clearly communicated during the booking process, not hidden behind a dropdown that gives the impression that onboard internet is part of the package.
For a cruise lasting several days, this adds up to thousands of SEK extra.
The most frustrating part is that we later discovered we could have gone directly to the MSC website and booked:
* The exact same cruise.
* A better hotel.
* A hotel that actually included breakfast (ours did not).
* Better, direct flights back to Sweden (Our return flight took 9 hours!!!!)
* And still saved thousands of SEK per person.
Instead, we paid significantly more for a hotel without breakfast, inconvenient flights, no transfers, and no meaningful added service.
I genuinely don't understand what service Ving is providing.
* They don't arrange transportation between the airport, hotel, and cruise terminal.
* They don't include onboard internet.
* They don't secure the best flights.
* They don't even provide a hotel with breakfast.
* They don't even complete the booking process for you — they simply redirect you to other websites.
* They bundle bookings that you can easily make yourself and charge thousands of SEK extra for doing it.
This did not feel like a travel package. It felt like paying a huge markup for almost no added value.
My advice: Before booking any cruise package through Ving, compare the total cost with booking directly through MSC and arranging your own hotel and flights.
We wish we had done that before paying 18,500 SEK per person. We would have had a better hotel, breakfast included, direct flights, more flexibility, and still saved a substantial amount of money.
DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID.
Everything was perfect
Our holiday was absolutely great and we will definitely book with wing, and stay at their sunwing hotels again.
Never again plain and simple.
Private Transfer Service - ! SCAM !
We booked a "Private Transfer" from the Airport to our Hotel:
At our arrival, we waited 25 min at the airport before someone walked us to... a taxi !
I was very surprised that i paid top money to end up in a taxi that I could just have taken myself when arriving.
At the hotel, i asked the reception the price for 4 people to go from the Hotel to Airport.
It ended up to be 3 times less expensive than the "Private Transfer" Service Ving.se provides.
Ving.se claimed that they fulfilled their service because we had a "private car" and the "pre-booking", "guaranteed vehicle" and "commissions" justifies their pricing.
What are the chances of NOT finding a taxi at an airport ?
DO NOT BOOK ANY "PRIVATE TRANSFER" service. It is a scam !
Booked trip with Ving
Booked trip with Ving. However the flight was assigned to TUI instead by Ving themselves. Not sure if it is because of lack of planes. We ended up paying more, the luggage could not be checked beforehand by Ving themselves, we could not bring as much luggage and the transfer timing is longer.
Highly deceptive product descriptions…
Highly deceptive product descriptions and useless staff.
We went on a two week All inclusive holiday with Ving, the food served was appalling and we made multiple complaints during and after the holiday and the company refused to do anything about it and more or less accused me of lying. They will never get our business again and I strongly suggest you avoid Ving in Sweden.
**Terrible Experience
**"Terrible Experience - Avoid This Hotel!**
We recently stayed here, and it was a complete disaster from start to finish. Every time we showered, the entire room flooded, and this happened multiple times. The hotel staff came to mop up, but the issue persisted, and one night we even had to sleep in a room full of water after asking the straff THREE times and still nothing! Also, they never daily cleaning was a mess. They only fixad the bed sheets and left. Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable!
But it gets worse. The door to our room wouldn’t close properly when we checked in, making us feel unsafe with our stuff. The hotel had to come twice to fix it, and their clumsy attempts at repairs only made us more frustrated. It eventually got fixed when we had 2-3 days left of our trip!
The service is beyond a joke. We involved our travel service, Ving, to help us get compensation or a new room, but the hotel refused to answer their calls. When we tried to hand them the phone with Ving on the other end, they questioned why they should even talk to them.
And after all this, after spending half the trip with talking to staff and argue, VING promised us plenty times that we will get a new room and possible better, told us to go to the beach, to not worry and they would handle everything, all they offered us was a pathetic compensation of 400 SEK (40€), which is laughable and something we can't even use while being there since it would take a week to process payment. Absolutely disgraceful from both parts.**
My review is based on the problem fix that…
My review is based on the problem that raised via the booking stage and not the holiday it self.
I have read a lot of negative reviews on this group and no one really writes anything when Ving customer service department does well, which im sure they do a lot of the time, personally i can only thank Ving customer service agent Milaja for her extreme high level of customer service she has given to my case and resolving it so that im a super happy Ving customer who will recommend them to others, well done Ving and thank-you again Milaja
STAY AWAY!!
STAY AWAY!!! I booked family holiday with Ving and due to their technical problems some how the travel insurance I had was no longer valid. My 2 year old son got sick during the trip and we were forced to stay inside due to his condition. When contacting Ving about the matter they claimed they had technical issue and my insurance wasn't valid. Ving of course do not want to take responsibility and compensate accordingly to the insurance. I was not even notified about me being without an insurance which makes the situation super uncomfortable. On paper I was insured but due to their technical issues they had and admitted having I was no longer insured. So for all of you traveling with children, please stay away from this company and book with another travel agency.
I called the Ving customer number here…12481072
I called the Ving customer number here in Turkey. I was attended by a very arrogant woman who took absolutely no pleasure in being service minded. I got the feeling that my call was not welcomed. I had just a few questions about our last day on the hotel. Do Ving really know how much it means to be treated at the minimum correctly and possibly even friendly when you have invested in a premium holiday? I suggest that you educate your employees in how to be service minded. And that there are certain ways to communicate with customers when you get payed for doing that job. I don't think I would choose Ving another time.
Cape Verde - YES! Ving - NO!!
We bought a package trip to Cape Verde.
First the flight was delayed one hour. No biggie. The plane itself was pretty low standard with backs that can't be folded. 7 hours in a plane like that takes its toll on the back, but I put a book behind my back and it worked ok.
On Cape Verde there wasn't any Ving personnel greeting us in the arrival hall, but we went outside, saw there were some buses, and there we spotted two girls who turned out to be from Ving. They crossed us off the list and told us which bus to go to.
When we departed the girl in the bus told us a few facts about the island and tours, but also that there would be an info meeting, at 9 in the morning... on a different hotel. The breakfast is 7-10. What were you thinking?
There was ZERO information on the hotel room. After a while we found a QR code on the table, tried scanning it and voila! Information. Would have been very valuable information to share on the bus, I'd say.
The hotel was fantastic, food was great, so that part was great.
However on the night before the last day my wife got really sick. Vomiting, shaking etc. We thought it was heat stroke and called a doctor. It took almost an hour (and one extra phone call) for the doctor to get there. Turned out it was food poisoning. The doc gave her pills and it calmed down.
The next day her stomach calmed down and it was way better, but since we were flying home the next day, we contacted Ving via text message to ask if it was possible to change seat closer to a toliet "just in case". The only reply we got was "If she is sick you need a 'fit to fly' document from the doctor or she can't be on the flight" WHAT????
No "Sorry this happened to you", no "how can we help".
I sent and answer wonder what the heck kind of customer service this is?? Not even an answer! Plus we told the doc we were flying home the next day and she said my wife would be fine to fly.
Another person replies "You can change your seats youself, here 's the link ...." Still no "sympathy" of any kind. Plus, the the link said it wasn't possible to change seats.
On the bus to the airport the Ving girl told 200 stories of what she and her colleagues had done while they were on the island (some would have been interesting to hear, when we got THERE, not going home). At the airport it was smooth, or flight was on time, gate came up. We sat there waiting and it was about time to board. Then our gate suddenly says Gatwick instead of Copenhagen. We went and checked the board which still had the original gate and destination. No information, no personnel there. We went and asked another crew, who told us our flight was delayed and would depart from the same gate, but after the Gatwick flight.
The flight was over an hour delayed. Then we flew from Sal to Billund, had to wait in the plane for an hour, which turned into two hour for various reasons, before flying 30 minutes to Copenhagen, so insead of landing around 01:30 we arrived at 03:30.
I wrote a comment on the Ving FaceBook, where they replied I should send them a message and they would do something about it. I did, and I posted a reminder, and a comment that they should check their messages, but no, nada, nothing.
I would love to go back to Cape Verde, but it surely won't be with Ving!!
My wife and daughter of 10 years old is…
My wife and daughter of 10 years old is stuck in Mallorca after 1 week holiday with Ving. They should have come home on saturday and today is monday and they still going around in Mallorca every morning to see if the bus is coming to take them to the airport. Then nothing happened so have to go back to a hotel again. Which kind of service is that when you cant get back home. Ving should do their best to bring my family home to Sweden. Its unfair to leave them there, its frustrating for my wife and daughter of 10 who has to go around like that. Theres other swedish families with kids too is stuck there. So please VING do something about it, arrange for another flight company to bring them back home.
Raising price when ask them about a trip
I called them to ask about the luggage limitations and right after that the price for the trip jumped high signifficantly.
Similar scenario happend twice (every time I was trying to get some info from them before booking the trip)
Definitely it was my last attempt to go with them.
Unreliable agency.
Treating people like nothing, horrible.
I posted a review on Google Maps and they deleted/hid it, which says a lot, so now I will post my story about them everywhere.
Mistreated and bullied by a hotel staff member (Sunprime Waterfront Ca'n Pastilla, Palma de Mallorca) who yelled at us just because the two of us were standing in front of a table for four, considering where to sit. We did not even sit at the table for four, but even if we did they could have told us in an educated and polite manner to move. We sat at the table for two, but this person came to us again, continued yelling, making a scene in front of the entire restaurant, telling me to shut up repeatedly because I was asking him to please talk to us nicely. We then left the table and food, and went to the reception to file an official complaint. They offered an apology, wrote a few sentences down, and that's it. Not even offered to bring us our plates out of the restaurant as we were obviously too upset to go back in there to eat. When reported to Ving, they TEXTED us asking what went wrong ACCORDING to us. Like we had to dispute the case to show that we were wronged. They did not even have the decency to call us and hear in detail (as the reception staff wrote down one sentence about this, diminishing what has happened) about the incident. We refused to text them about this, and gave them a chance to call and hear us out, which they did not do. We did not want any compensation, just to be heard, which they have failed in doing. Thank you for the vacation ruined, maybe consider giving the hotel staff some basic training in decency and hospitality. Worst experience ever that has unfortunately overshadowed all the other positive things.
Paid in March and still have not…
Paid in March and still have not refunded cancelled vacation due to virus. Nothing but excuses and promises that lead nowhere. Automatic reply emails that are bogus. The worst of the worst.
poor customer service
poor customer service, have no money to pay money back for canceled trips have waited about 65 days for a refund, will boycott nordic choice belonging to the same group
I found bedbugs in my hotel room in…
I found bedbugs in my hotel room in hotel Best Roquetas in Almería, Spain, and I called Ving and the staff came to my room in 15 minutes, and got me a new room, they were very friendly and very helpful and caring. Nothing to complain about. I'm very happy with the service I got.
Thankful.
Poor communication and horrible customer service.
Three days before the trip (with departure date 20th July 2016) I was contacted by Ving to know if I wanted to get the "kompletterande reseförsäkring" for the AVIS rental car (that I booked when I booked my trip). When I called them and said yes (on 18th July), they told me in the phone conversation that I need to pay "as soon as possible" and they claim now that they told us to pay on the same day. It may be true, maybe not since it was my gf who spoke to them and not me. But if they asked us to pay on the same day, I am pretty sure my gf wouldn't have missed that. Soon after that phone call I received a mail saying that I had to pay the final amount of 281 kr. Either ways, in that email I was not told directly that the deadline for payment is 12 pm on 19th July. That would have my life much simpler.
Next morning (19th July) at 8 am I was sent an SMS reminder that I need to pay by 12 pm. Unfortunately I slept in late that day and when I saw the message it was only then I got to know that I need to pay by 12 pm. My payment was made at around 1:04 pm.
Immediately after the payment was done, I got an email confirmation that they have received my payment and so I believed that I had the insurance.
Issue:
While driving the rental car on narrow roads in Gran Canaria, I accidentally hit the curb and got some damage on the bottom right side of the car. So when I called Ving to check about the insurance, what do they say, once you gave them your booking number? "Oh, as it looks you don't have any insurance. You made a payment on the 19th of July but that didn't go through. It has been bounced back to your account."
I was absolutely shocked. I was not notified clearly that the payment didn't go through or that I don't have the insurance. Had I known in advance, I would have taken the insurance directly via AVIS.
After a series of arguments on the phone is when I saw that they had sent it in some of the smallest of the text fonts on the last sent travel ticket, that said "Nej" in front of reseförsäkring. Never in the email it said directly that the payment didn't go through and that I don't have the insurance. Never in an email directly such as "Vi kunde inte ta emot din betalningen eftersom det var försenad". That would have made things much more clearer and better to me as a customer.
On giving them suggestions about how to send clear emails about the deadline for payment many days in advance OR how to send out clear notifications in an email that the payment didn't go through due to the late payment, they absolutely stuck to what they thought was right. Moreover the staff that spoke to me were quite rude and she once even threatened to cut the call when they heard the frustration from my side. It took me half a day to come to terms with their stubbornness just because I paid one hour late and I didn't get the insurance anyways. When I said the payment was not made late intentionally. It was because it was not communicated clearly to me and in good time, they just stuck to what they thought was right.
Owing to this experience, I rate Ving 1/5 and even lower if the website allowed me to. I am terribly disappointed and I, for sure, will NEVER EVER book anything with them again. All they care is about their money and never about their customers. And that clearly shows here since they don't even seem to give a damn about Trustpilot reviews! Anyways if anyone happens to read this, I advice you to do the same. You just cannot trust Ving.
