Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 556 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently complained about excessively long wait times when contacting customer support, alongside unexpected billing charges and confusing contract terms that made managing accounts extremely frustrating. Consumers also experienced continuous technical problems, including unreliable internet connections, faulty equipment, and delayed technician appointments that left households without essential services for extended periods. Some reviewers were happy with helpful in-store staff who provided polite, professional, and efficient assistance when updating plans. Other customers appreciated specific support representatives who listened carefully, answered questions clearly, and went above and beyond to resolve problems smoothly.

FRAUD AND SCAMMERS WORKING FOR THE COMPANY

They just steal your money! Our wifi was only about $100 a month when we first started. But then they wanted us to pay for all these useless upgrades which ended up costing us $300 a month! Why the hell do I need fibre optic cables when there’s no support?! And yelling us it’s a necessary upgrade even though we don’t get the access is ridiculous! The final straw was with our last wifi bill. My dad had paid it and then they shut off our wifi. We called them, asked why was it off, and they said we didn’t pay the bill. So then I sent them $300 and then right after they cancelled our plan. And now they need to send a technician out to fix it. Why the hell would you send out a technician 15 days after turning it off after we said we’re done?! Nothing but scammers who leech money. Go to hell 🖕

Smart Home Security is a scam

Smart Home Security is a scam. They charge way too much, the equipment is rented, and it's practically impossible to cancel your subscription. You're way better off going with Google or Ring.

Worst Company on the planet!!!

This is by fare the worst company on this planet. My daughter has their security service and I'm 💯 % that what they are doing is very illegal. They canceled my daughter's account without even letting her know. Now, they want her to pay the full 2 years or re-sign a new contract with them. I feel this is so wrong on all levels. I honestly, think this is unfortunate cause now..no way in hell im going with Telus Canada for anything. YOU are a bunch of crooked thieves and Customer Service are so bad. People DON'T go with Telus Security services...you will regret it. STAY AWAY....POOR SERVICE.

Worst experience will never buy any of…

Worst experience will never buy any of their plans other than alberta or bc they do not provide their services in other provinces and being their fault they still want you to pay the cancellation fees. Employees being knowing they cannot do anything still put you on hold for 20 minutes. Worst experience won’t suggest anyone to get their services.

Telus doesn't care

Title: TELUS Can Tell Me to Pay — But Can’t Show Me the Accounting

I used to be a satisfied TELUS customer. I previously rated them five stars. My recent experience has changed that completely.

I have repeatedly asked TELUS for a complete statement of account showing the charges, payments, credits, adjustments and dates behind the balance they say I owe.

I am not refusing to pay a legitimate bill. I am asking to verify the accounting before paying a disputed balance.

Instead of receiving the information I requested, I continue receiving payment links, overdue-balance reminders and warnings that my service may be disconnected.

That is particularly frustrating because I live with brain injuries and have explained that clear written information is an accessibility need for me.

If TELUS can repeatedly tell me how much money it wants, it should be able to show me how that amount was calculated.

Send me the statement. Show me the accounting. Then we can resolve the problem.

I would gladly update this review if TELUS provides the requested information and resolves the issue properly.

I am exhausted by telus

I am beyond frustrated with TELUS, and at this point I have absolutely no intention of renewing my contract when it ends. In fact, I am seriously considering cancelling my services before then — again.

I previously had to cancel my TELUS services because I moved. When I returned and tried to restart my services, somehow my name and date of birth did not match the information TELUS had on file. I was told I needed to physically visit a TELUS store to verify my identity. I was specifically told that I would NOT need another credit check. After presenting TWO pieces of government-issued identification in person, I was required to complete a credit check anyway.

This was AFTER I had already wasted more than an hour and a half of my time on the phone with TELUS trying to get everything sorted out.

After visiting the TELUS store and dealing with all of that, I encountered another issue: TELUS sent my package to the wrong address. I was forced to contact Purolator myself, sort out the issue myself, and pick up the package myself. Once again, I had to spend my own time fixing a problem that was not my fault and should never have happened in the first place.

On top of that, I have been repeatedly and relentlessly contacted about switching my cellphone service to TELUS. I have been asked over and over again why I won't switch to TELUS Mobile. At this point, these calls don't feel like customer service — they feel like harassment. Considering the experience I've had with TELUS already, why on earth would I voluntarily give them MORE of my business?

Now, after going through all of this to renew my services, my Apple TV account doesn't work. Once again, there appears to be no simple or convenient way to resolve the problem. As far as I can tell, fixing yet another TELUS issue will require me to sacrifice another hour or more of my life sitting on the phone trying to troubleshoot a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place.

Over approximately the last eight months, I have spent MORE THAN 10 HOURS either on the phone with TELUS or physically standing in TELUS stores dealing with problems related to their service. Ten hours of my life wasted because dealing with this company seems to turn even the simplest issue into an exhausting ordeal.

I am completely fed up with the incompetence, the wasted time, the unnecessary hoops, the contradictory information, and the constant attempts to sell me additional services while TELUS can't even manage the services I already pay for.

Customer service should make a customer's life easier. TELUS has consistently done the exact opposite.

I am exhausted with this company. Unless something changes dramatically, when my contract ends, so does my relationship with TELUS — and at this point, I may not even wait that long.

On hold for over an hour and they disconnected the call!

Called 1-888-811-2323 to change my services. I have home phone, internet and Optiks TV. They have their standard misleading "wait time is 15 minutes". I waited patiently listening to their irritating Stingray station and repeated sustainability message. They disconnect my call after waiting over an hour. Do they just want to get you to give up? It just sets up for a confrontational call, if connected!

price gouging

price gouging, shady non transparent practice, increasing price without notice, terrible customer service with delayed response, convoluted sign up process, and the list goes on.

PS Whoever gave 5 stars to this shady practice must be the owner of this crappy company!

DO NOT CHOOSE TELUS!

DO NOT CHOOSE TELUS!!

They just charged me a cancellation fee at my rental property when I just paid close to $1000 to have them install fibre optic at my new property. When I tried to reason and explain the situation, they would not hear it and then threatened to charge even more if I did not return their property. I will be cancelling all accounts with them.

Absolutely the worst company

Absolutely the worst company. The only reason I have them is because I live somewhere rural, and there is nothing else but Starlink, it’s still cheaper than Starlink.

I called them to try to get a better deal because I’m paying a lot of money for internet that barely works. All they could offer me was a $10 discount. Absolutely penny-pinching, nickel-and-diming nonsense.

Then they turn around and charge me a $120 fee for who knows what, because they sure as hell didn’t do anything different. It’s the exact same service I had before, and my internet is still barely working.

An investigation needs to be done because TELUS is straight-up ripping people off. I’m paying a ridiculous amount of money for a service that consistently doesn’t work, and their solution is to give me a $10 discount and then charge me another $120 fee.

Absolutely unacceptable.

FORMAL COMPLAINT REGARDING TELUS…

FORMAL COMPLAINT REGARDING TELUS RECRUITMENT AND INTERVIEW PROCESS

I want to share my experience with the Telus recruitment process, which was extremely disappointing and, in my view, raises serious concerns about fairness, professionalism, and transparency.

This was my second time attending a Telus recruitment process, and unfortunately, the experience was similar to the first. Candidates were required to wait for almost the entire day without any refreshments, while going through several stages, including pre-screening, assessments, and interviews. I understand that large-scale recruitment takes time, especially when recruiting hundreds of employees, but candidates should still be treated with respect and consideration throughout the process.

Yesterday, the process was handled differently because Telus is looking to recruit a large number of people. We were called in for a group pre-screening, after which candidates were taken three at a time for what was described as a final interview.

My feedback noted that I have a stable employment history and relevant customer service experience, but my interview performance did not reflect the expected level of expertise. It further stated that I struggled to clearly explain KPI performance and that my answers lacked structure and focused more on describing my responsibilities than demonstrating their impact. I was ultimately marked as “Fail.”

What concerns me most is who was responsible for making this decision. The individuals conducting our interviews did not appear to be Operations Managers, while other candidates were interviewed by actual Operations Managers and were subsequently progressed to the next stage. This creates a serious question about whether all candidates were assessed by the same standard and by people with the appropriate authority and experience to make recruitment decisions.

The interview itself also appeared highly unprofessional. The interviewers seemed to rely on a flash drive containing prepared questions and were seen asking one another what they were supposed to do next. This gave the impression that they themselves were not adequately prepared for the recruitment process. There was also very little empathy or engagement with candidates, despite many people having travelled, waited for hours and invested significant time and effort into the process.

I am particularly concerned that the Interviewer decisions may have been influenced by AI-generated assessments or automated evaluation. If technology or AI is being used to assess candidates' responses and determine whether they progress, Talos should be transparent about this and ensure that such technology does not unfairly determine someone's employment opportunities. A person's future should not be decided solely by an automated system without proper human consideration and context.

I want to make it clear that my concern is not necessarily with the recruiters themselves. My disappointment is primarily with the way the interview and management side of the process was handled. Talos presents itself as a company that values people, yet my experience yesterday did not reflect that message.

Candidates deserve a recruitment process that is professional, transparent, consistent, and respectful. Everyone should have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their abilities, and decisions should be made by properly qualified and accountable individuals using the same standards for all candidates.

I hope Telus will take this feedback seriously, review how the recruitment and interview process was conducted, and consider whether the people responsible for interviewing candidates are adequately trained and authorised to make final hiring decisions.

I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for fair treatment, transparency and accountability. This is the Woodstock Branch.
