Everything started out great with SkyLux Travel, but it has turned into a frustrating nightmare. My wife and I booked a special trip to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary in April. (LAX to Istanbul, Beirut to LAX). We asked to purchase travel insurance in case anything went awry. Skylux was super helpful and accommodating in arranging Premium Economy airfare and insurance for the trip (at a cost of more than $800 for travel insurance ). Unfortunately, after booking the airfare, the US and Israel went to war in Lebanon, and my wife and I were informed by the U.S. Government to avoid travel to Lebanon. Therefore, we bought a return ticket from Istanbul to Los Angeles with Turkish Airlines/United Airlines. Upon arriving home on April 26, we immediately canceled our April 30 flight with Skylux from Beirut to Los Angeles. For the past 73 days, we have been unable to get a refund for our unused flight we were unable to take because of the war in Lebanon. Skylux has assured us that they are checking with the airline to get a refund for us. I called the airline (Lufthansa), and they led me to believe that refunds had been distributed for unused flights. When I explained this to Skylux, I was told the ticket matter was being processed by United. We were informed that our $800+ travel insurance does not cover this particular situation. My wife and I would have left a positive review of SkyLux Travel if our return had been as smooth as our departure or if we would have received a refund for the money we paid SkyLux, but the post-purchase service has been atrocious. I must warn anyone reading this to be very careful about giving money to SkyLux.
Very courteous and value added service. The personalized booking experience reminded me of old time how travel agents seem to look for your needs and best interests and offered you best possible options for travel.
Mark the agent was amazing. Knowledgeable, patient above and beyond and was focused on my unique needs. He deserves recognition from management.
My agent, Underwood K did a great job. I appreciated his attention detail and his willingness to check all the options.
Brenda was patient and helpful with all of my questions. She was truthful and I will definitely call her again! She made it very easy!
Zane helped me out with my travel plans and reservations as expected. He is very polite and ready to provide you with many options. Excellent work.
Excellent work from his side.

This company booked the same exact trip for me and my wife twice and tried to blame it on me. I actually had to file a formal complaint and I’m suing them now as they refuse to refund anything but the actual airline cost meaning they booked the insurance twice at $3078.54 and refuse to refund the second one. They claim it was 99% not their fault according to the agent, but the same agent Olaf had booked both flights and claims that he can’t remember clients as he has hundreds of them so it’s my fault. A court will make the final determination. My advice is to go to one of the competitors at ASAP or businessclass.com.

Be aware:
Last week, I spent several hours talking and emailing Surya at Sky Lux Travel.
I have never used this type of travel booking as I normally book flights from the airline for my many international trips. However, Surya seemed legit and I listened to him. However, once the purchase was made it all changed. Now, I realize I was suckered to purchase these "business class" flights from CA to Johannesburg, South Africa and return from Kilimanjaro, Tanzania back to CA.
For now, less than a week after purchase and before the trip, the problem lies with one of the 4 legs which is the 3rd leg of the total purchase on the return from JFK... the short leg from Kilimanjaro to Nairobi. This leg is on the same Kenya airlines confirmation but operated by Precision air. That is not the problem or even that that the one short leg doesn’t offer business class.
Precision air does offer on that exact same flight a "lite" fare or "premium fare". SkyLux chose to purchase the lite fare with NO seat selection after I spent all the extra money on business class tickets and didn’t tell me this or ask if i wanted an option on this non-refundable ticket.
They are horrible. Don’t trust them or waste your time and money! I purchased my other flights international in Africa directly from the airline at better prices and with selectable seats.
I suggest all should AVOID SkyLux Travel services. Your problems may be greater than any savings.
Sincerely,
Super dissatisfied customer

Melinda is amazing. The last trip scheduled had to be canceled due to my mom’s passing. Melinda was extremely helpful and provided the best customer service in an unfortunate situation.
