I have used John Pye Auctions for years and in the main have been happy with purchases. There have been some items that have been dodgy but to be honest I feel it is stated that items should be viewed before hand, so if I chose not to this is on me. If I am buying a more expensive item I contact the team and in most instances they have been happy to give a better description of the item if the product is online and I cannot get to the site. Yesterday I had a bit of a mix up with lots and Invoices, all my fault; I had made a mistake going between the website and the app. Shakira personally helped me to rectify the situation and I am now waiting on my product arriving. Thanks Shakira.

As small problem was quickly and efficiently sorted out by the Marchington Courier, communication was excellent, a very professional response

Bought a few items from them, and all were slightly damaged, missing parts or not working, however nowhere was stated that they are damaged/missing parts/or not working.
When I contacted they customer service they lift they shoulders by saying that they don’t answer for the state of the products as they are an auction company.
Now remain to contact my bank, report them and hopefully I get my money back!
JUST STAY AWAY FROM THEM, DON’T ENJOY A FEW €or£ LESS!

Absolutely disgusted with my experience. I bought through John Pye in good faith based on the auction descriptions and received a mouldy, unusable tent that was missing essential parts, along with a camping chair with a snapped metal frame, an air bed with a slow puncture and a cooking hot plate damaged and was frankly dangerous. These were not minor defects. I lost money ! In my experience, items with significant damage can be listed without the defects being clearly disclosed, and the buyer is left carrying the risk. I will not be using John Pye Auctions again and I would urge you to do the same

Shakira assisted me with a very high level of promptness. Very commendable. Keep it up Shakira.

Purchased many items from their now closed South Wales site with no problems. However now they do not give accurate descriptions of items, so you don't know if they are new or used.Their RRP on the listings are way overinflated. If we come to view can we plug the crap in to see it does not work? Thought electrical items had to be tested before sale but that rule probably just applies to honest traders.
Last time I use these scammers, did the South Wales branch close due to staff being too honest?Basically cost me £122 for a cardboard box it was the only thing that arrived that was fit for purpose.
YES I could have come to view before you tell me again with your automated response but can electrical items be plugged in and tested during this viewing? I think not!

I wrote this complaint to them three times, I am a customer of many years spending a lot of money with them and this is the way they treated my claim, after writing below to them heres what i wrote.....
I wish to make a complaint, and also will not stop making it until
someone sees I have been treated unfairly.
I have already tried to reason with the debt this problem lies with,
but they lied to me on the phone, so this is now a serious issue for
me.
I have been a customer of yours well over 12 years or longer, I spend
thousands of pounds with you every year, I pay the day I win without
fail.
But this last order, I was lied to about by the person the phone, so here goes
On the 23rd of May I paid £252 for auction invoice #526879306
and after 10 days nothing came, so I rang birmingham auction house,
and was told it as not come because its sat in a DPD trailer in their
parking lot and it wont move until DPD comes and get it, I said when
will that be, and she said another 4 days or so.
The very next day it miraculously arrived at my home, but lot number
320, 4 x bubble fish tower was broken to bits, not like the pictures
I have off the site showed them, the boxes were in bin bags, and they
were completely destroyed.
So I rang customer service. They told me to ring Birmingham so I did,
they told me to fill in an online form, I did, I heard nothing for
ages so finally I rang them again and said, I have had no contact
about the form I sent in days ago..
And the lady was very kind, said send me details again, so i did, and
she asked for more details this went on all day. I started emailing
her at 9.45 in the morning and was still being asked for more info
around 3.30 pm in the afternoon.
Finally after all that mucking around, she then said send me pictures,
I did , she then wrote no refund, because of all the things you write
that you should have viewed, I'm a 800 mile round trip away, why would
i when the pictures showed perfect product, so i was so unhappy.
I had just spent £1700 on john pye throughout your network, and I
can't get a refund for £39.04 !!! , twice in over a decade I had a
similar problem with items i bought and it was dealt with correctly
with no problems, so please so me some common courtesy here please, im
a 70 year old man using pye to survive i'm recovering from a heart
attack at this moment, and truly can't afford to lose money on what
this was like on arrival.
All 4 bubble towers were broken because they had moved about in the
bin bags they had been sent in, they did not even come within the
actual full order from Birmingham, they came separate in bin bags the
next day.
Beware of buying any electrical items. Item sold not as described and unusable and they are happy to take the money but no chance of returning . The item is kniw in the bin and total waste of time and money .
Very disappointing

Although I had prompt replies to my disappointment in goods which recieved broken, but I the pictures show the item complete and I recieved the goods broken, this is not the first and lesson has been learnt, gone are the days of honesty and customers satisfaction, and will let others know that you will probably get things broken or damaged.

We’ve kitted most of our house out with John Pye goods and have always had a good experience. I recently purchased a mirrored cabinet which arrived smashed on delivery, Persephone arranged for it to be collected and refunded hassle free. I can’t fault them, we’ve had multiple appliances which all work and lovely furniture. Will continue to use and have recommended them to friends.

Sent me counterfeit goods I’ve provided to the bank they were counterfeit to get my money back and won , they are asking for the goods back to sell them on to other people scammers

Appalling! My first time buying off the site and spending nearly £500 to receive two items that weren’t functioning/faulty. Misleading pictures and description. Won’t return items either. Be very cautious before buying off these daylight scammers!

I bought a battery steam mop that was advertised in its wrapping, and looked brand new and faultless. Paid £90 for it and brand new its around £190, so I thought it was a good deal. When I received it, it looked fine until I took it out of the box,and underneath was all smashed, so basically its worthless. I complained on numerous occasions on their online contacts centre, and got no reply. I eventually spoke to someone and they requested that I send photos in, which I did. This turned out to be a waste of time as they then quote their terms and conditions, ie its there to be viewed on site. If this is how they operate they shouldn't sell goods on line,or they should provide photos of every angle of the goods. So I have spent £90 for nothing. A very poor experience dealing with this company.

Bid on an item and was in the lead, winning with the highest bid. The item had 25 seconds left and I left the page window open to watch, it then jumping up to 2 minutes 59 seconds left before the bidding ended.
Absolute scam!!!!!
My reply to your excuse is no you do that out of greed!!! The more someone pays for an item the higher APR you get.

Some great bargains to be had, although I've had 2 Ps5 controllers that were both defective and not returnable, descriptions can not always be correct, so be careful. Make sure to check shipping costs before you bid as some can be very high.

I have literally spent thousands on items from John Pye and, apart from a couple of low cost items that didn't work, I've been pleased with my purchases.
HOWEVER, I recently bought a washing machine - sold without any reference to being faulty. I paid the price, plus the premium, plus VAT and £50 for delivery on top. When it came, I plumbed it in, it turned on lovely and looked all fine. Then I selected the programme and pressed start... and nothing happened. It just clicked... and clicked. No water fill, no action. "No problem" I thought, just contact Pye. They'll help.
Oh dear. What a disaster. I had a load of rubbish from some guy on email telling me it was sold as seen and basically I'm stuck with it. OK, sold as seen - it looked fine. But it doesn't fulfil its primary purpose, to wash clothes, and I had an expectation that it would. So I am protected by UK consumer law.
Looking at the recent reviews of Pye I can see that they've gone proper downhill - selling faulty, broken bits of rubbish and sending them to consumers across the country. Wasting everyone's time and money.
What on earth do they think I'm going to do with a broken washing machine? Absolute crooks, and I'm cancelling my membership right now.
Thank you John Pye. I have a busy, working full time, family life and no way of washing my kid's clothes. I've now had to borrow money to get a new washing machine from a reputable seller (lets hope) and I will have to pay for someone to take away this piece of rubbish that is lumped in my utility.
Small claims court (cost £35) here I come.
