I took out travel insurance before my trip to Italy, never imagining that a month after returning home and handing back the rental car, I would be charged €1,160 for damage allegedly caused by hail, according to the rental car company — damage I neither knew about nor was responsible for.
Thanks to the insurance, I have now been fully reimbursed, and I couldn’t be more grateful and happy.

Stay away from these guys
Stay away from these guys. After purchasing the "coverage" for my car rental, I was told by the rental company that these guys are very hard to get hold of. No chat line, no phone number. Very shady. Then they tried to charge my credit 2 more times. Avoid them, go with insurance coverage offered by the rental company.

A silly mistake in Spain, caused some damage (scrapes) to the car's side and bumper - entirely my fault.. We paid Sixt the $1000 AUS that they calculated the costs to be, then followed the process to make a claim to RentalCover. The RentalCover claims department responded almost immediately that we were covered and they re-imbursed us. Super happy and impressed. Thanks RentalCover!
