Cancelled subscription, but they charged me again


I subscribed to Superprof Premium on July 9th and cancelled it on July 11th, specifically to avoid being charged again in August. Despite the cancellation, Superprof charged my card again in August.
When I contacted support, all I got was a response from an AI bot ("Mia") — no actual human looked into the issue or fixed it.
Be very careful if you subscribe: cancellation doesn't seem to reliably stop future charges, and their support doesn't properly handle billing complaints.

We would, however, like to clarify what happened in this case. Our records show that the Student Pass was initially cancelled on July 11th, but it was then reactivated shortly afterwards. The August charge was therefore generated because the subscription had been reactivated.

We explained this to you directly by email and, although the charge resulted from the reactivation, we have also refunded the August payment as a gesture of goodwill.

We also want to clarify that your case was reviewed by a member of our customer support team too, who has contacted you directly to explain the situation and arrange the refund.

We hope this clarification helps put the situation into context.

Its a Scam

Its a Scam, I wanted to look for swim coach , I find one . they asked they will charge when one answer to my question. But next month they charge me again, as they work its like one time payment.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the subscription worked differently from what you expected.

The Student Pass is a subscription that automatically renews every 30 days until it is canceled. This information is provided during the sign-up and payment process and is also reiterated in the confirmation email sent after the Student Pass is activated.

The initial fee is charged once a teacher accepts the request. The Student Pass then continues as a monthly subscription until it is canceled.

Excellent platform for dedicated teachers

Superprof has been a very positive experience for me. The website is clear, the communication with students works smoothly, and the payment system is reliable when lessons are correctly registered. A great platform for teachers. I have been collaborating with them for more than 6 years now and I am absolutely satisfied by the results. There is always someone that answers emails in case of problems. I am happy to be on board!

MISLEADING AND A SCAM

MISLEADING AND A SCAM
Having been cheated by this service, I thought I would write to warn others against it.
The website charges you a completly disproportionate amount of money (49 Euros) just to be able to book a class, where you will then have to pay the teacher's fees on top.
I unfortunately discovered this only after they had taken almost 100 Euros of fees from my account through their misleading and scam tactics. I thought I had paid the teacher but it only came to light when the teacher said that they hadnt received a singe cent from the 98 Euros this unethical website took from me.
I have subsequently discovered that several people have filed formal complaints against Superprof for this extremely unethical and unlawful practice and I too will be filing a formal complaint with the authorities.
Be warned - scam service that will charge you without providing any real services.

The Student Pass provides access to our platform and allows students to contact teachers and organise lessons through Superprof. It is separate from the teacher’s lesson fees, which are paid directly according to the arrangements made with the teacher. The Student Pass fee is only charged once a teacher accepts a student's lesson request.

We aim to make the conditions of the Student Pass clear throughout the sign-up process, including on the payment page and in the confirmation email.

Scam

They trick you into automatic payments. I only noticed when a second payment went off of my PayPal. I basically paid €78 for a teacher to tell me they’re not available. Stay away from this app!

The Student Pass is our matching service that enables contact with tutors. The fee is only charged once a tutor accepts your lesson request.

The monthly renewal is clearly displayed on the payment page before confirmation, as well as in the confirmation email, so users are informed of the terms at all times.

If a tutor informed you that they are not available, please feel free to contact our support team and provide supporting evidence such as screenshots. We will be happy to review your case and issue a refund where applicable.

Flexible and useful platform for tutors

I’ve had a really good experience with Superprof as a teacher so far. It’s easy to use, I can organize my lessons independently, and I’ve met students with genuine interest in music. I also like that I can build my own profile and teach in my own way. It helped me find motivated students and gain more teaching experience.

Superprof is good for networking

Superprof is good for networking, to find a good teacher or to find new pupils. I met wonderful pupils because of this tool and I´m thankful to have had this opportunities.
