I had some issues with the care of my Stellar Equipment Garments.

Emmy from customer service was very helpful and quick to resolve my issues that I want to highlight that here. She quickly cleared up any confusion and made a very good impression of the customer service

I own several products from Stellar Equipment and most of them have been very good. Unfortunately my experience with the Stretch Down Hood 2.5 has been extremely disappointing.

After only about two months of normal use I noticed that the down insulation under the arms had shifted almost completely away from that area. The result is that there is basically no insulation left there and the jacket becomes cold and uncomfortable, especially when moving around.

I contacted Stellar about the issue. Their explanation was that they use very fine down and that it can sometimes shift around inside the jacket. They also suggested that I need to be careful with how the jacket is used and stored.

In other words, they have built a down jacket that apparently cannot handle normal daily use.

What makes this even more frustrating is that on their own website the jacket is described as durable enough for everyday use. That was one of the main reasons I bought it. Based on my experience, this claim is simply not true.

If you plan to use this jacket frequently as a normal winter jacket, I would strongly recommend thinking twice before buying it.

I finally purchased a Stellar Shield Jacket and Pants 2.0, after I don't know how many carts not finalized :)
Received in 1 working day, ordered late on Wednesday and received on Friday morning, ready to be worn during my ski holidays.
Quality is just amazing, as expected. Also fitting is perfect, way better than the previous Norrona equipment I had.

I also appreciate the email I am getting since I received the order. Not too many as often happens, with useful insights.

It’s been a very disappointing experience with then.

I ordered a top for my husband’s birthday a week prior to his birthday. Still no top or a tracking number to let me know where it is , and it’s a week gone.

I have written to them for two days asking where the top is, where the tracking number is and then some, not being responded to is very disappointing as I would like my husband to have it for this birthday!

While I can understand there might be delays, to be ignored is by far the biggest frustration.

P.S. Thank you for your reply. However, the volume of emails cannot reasonably be cited as the issue; this points instead to understaffing. Customers should not be deprived of their orders due to organisational shortcomings or a lack of preparedness for the Christmas period.

As this is not your first Christmas trading, this should have been anticipated.

The order did eventually arrive, thank you. This said, I would strongly suggest a review of your internal processes to prevent similar issues in the future. This could include improved customer communication and more reliable dispatch notifications, as no tracking information was provided for over a week.

Just love them, quality products, great style and colours and quick delivery, highly recommended. Need more stuff from them :-)

I love the look and feel of the soft shell pants. Only time will tell how durable they are. Sadly the size (medium) was not right for me, I’m 6ft and they are at least an inch too short. I did make the choice based on the size guide. Customer services were very helpful and I have sent them back for a replacement and that is a free service.

Over the years I have come to own many stellar pieces. Happy w the quality and endurance. Pricing is pretty steep so I don’t buy regularly.

Amazing Quality of their products. It’s a warm lightweight jacket, warm comfortable and fits perfectly.

Great products for skiing and fast delivery.
Had to change 1 product due to size. Sent it as a “return” not as “change of product” but Stellar just adjusted for me at no extra freight cost, super Quick respond and service from Linn. Thanks.
(The use of UPS for delivery is a bit negative, its the most difficuelt Company to have as a freighter, just to give them info that they can just leave the parcel at the door, seems next to impossible 🧐)

My first experience with customer service:

Long-term customers receive nothing but a warm handshake when the product balances on the website are incorrect and it takes a couple of days to fix the problem. In addition, the order was delivered incomplete without informing the customer first. For this reason, I had to cancel the order and order a winter suit from another manufacturer.

UPDATE:

There were again some minor challenges with the delivery schedule for the new order, but this time the issue was resolved smoothly by customer service.

However, the products have been good, so I updated my review.

Perfect jacket and pants combo for freeriding and ski touring. Durable, waterproof and heaps of helpful features. I totally love the monochrome colour optics. Only con is the sizing: it is made for long people (Swedish company) so if you‘re on the smaller side like me the arms and legs tend to be a bit long.

This is my second Stellar Down Parka. It is an amazing thing to wear. It is lightweight, durable, very warm, extremely comfortable and it looks great.

I had great help from Emmy from customer service who was very accommodating and gave great advice and guidance. I have bought multiple times from Stellar Equipment and I have always been very satisfied with their customer service, delivery and quality of their products.

Absolutely fantastic jacket - both warm and lightweight. Fits me incredibly well and I am 198cm tall so buying clothes isn't that easy. I also received very good customer service - thanks to Linn.
