Refused to even attempt to help me raise a dispute and flatly denied it. Raised a complaint and the complaints handler was just as dismissive and unhelpful. Taking it to the financial ombudsman as I’ve heard they are quite helpful. Won’t be using this bank again as they are unhelpful when things go wrong.

Worst customer service ever. Won’t let me close my account, even though I’ve got no money in the account. I’ve had nothing but bad experiences with this bank, including once having my account frozen for three weeks! Long story…

Starling bank tried their best to ignore my claim due to a scam which became an issue partly because of their poor customer security procedures for which they have previously been fined. Once hassled enough to look at it they then repeatedly "misunderstood" the claim despite it being clearly stated several times and rejected it. Finally the Financial Ombudsman was engaged and made the correct decision, making Starling refund the bulk of the loss. I don't trust Starling to take responsibility for their failings or treat their customers with respect.

They restricted my account, my friend sent me money and they restricted and started investigation, I have been waiting for long time and they asked me support evidence, I asked from my friend to send the statement that he made transaction. I provided to them but I have been told that they dont accept it. They said it should be email or receipt conversation with payee. I have convo with my friend in my native language but they still accept it. So does it mean Starling stole my money? I dont understand.

I am a UK citizen lived here all my life, very good credit history with a new business registered with companies house no criminal record and yet I get refused a bank account after completing the all the relevant information with no reason given.

I am currently trying to move my business banking away from Starling before they cripple my business
because they don't bother reading messages.
I'm not sure if their support is AI or just incompetent people but they just give you any standard reply that includes a few keywords relevant to your issue then close the case. As a result they are threatening to suspend my account for not doing something that their app is not actually letting us do.
The change will be a major upset to my small business just because they are incompetent. I wouldn't trust them again.
Response to the response : Totally understand the regulatory needs, but there is also a practical need for some degree of competence when dealing with this. That is the point of my complaint, not the regulatory requirement. I have business accounts with 4 different banks. 3 handled it with zero fuss. Starling have cost me time, money and stress.
I will pass the complaint up to the ombudsman as Starling didn't even read it before responding. I will complete my move to a more competent bank first though so that Starling cannot cause my business more problems.

WARNING PLS READ these people are absolute scum at starling bank, I occasionally use my account to gamble with sky and I was harassed and questioned by a staff member called Harley on there banking app about how and why I spend my money there and who pays money in to my account after telling him it was family members sending me money and I can afford to waste it there I was immediately banned from banking with them and they closed my account the scumbags NEVER BANK WITH THESE a true waste of time and fraudulent people///// update the filthy pigs from starling have the cheek to reply on there review I will see you in court I recommend everyone making a civil claim against this company I am and they are taking them to court

I love starling, it’s such an easy service to set up and use and it’s great if you’re travelling too as you can use your card abroad in some places with no charges. I’ve had a much better experience with starling compared to other high street banks that I’ve had accounts with

I already have a Starling current account and savings account but recently needed to open a business account. The process on the app was very simple and I got a call back from a very nice lady to check my application. I got my new account very quickly and found the whole thing very smooth.

I had this bank while living in UK. It is an amazing bank. The app works great it has so many feature like categorising spending and spending insight. We a had a joint account too it works great it sync and you get a sperate joint card for each persone. Trasfters are quick and easy. Opening the account is very simple and straigh forward. The custome service is very quick and helpfull and informative. If you are new to Uk or are looking for a bank i raccomanded it i had an great experience.
